Studio apartment with bathroom and full kitchen in a quiet and safe neighborhood on the central coast. Wonderful hiking and ocean views just a short walk away. Morro Bay Rock and Estuary, Montana De Oro State Park and beaches a leisurely 5-10 minute drive. Enjoy a day driving up the coast seeing the elephant seals and the historic Hearst Castle in beautiful San Simeon.
Your accommodations are a detached studio from the main house on a beautiful acre set away from the street with your own private parking. I want to emphasize that the living areas are quite small and compact so someone with a larger stature is not disappointed with the accommodations, but besides that, the studio should have everything you need. It's very clean, light and open. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and safe and your studio will be a very private getaway.
We are a 15-20 minute drive to San Luis Obispo; a very fun college town with plenty of night life and an adorable downtown shopping area. We have some very nice wineries in the area and you can spend the afternoon tasting if you'd like. My place is off the beaten path, so although there is a bus stop about a mile away, you will most likely need your vehicle to get to most places conveniently. :)
We have one overly friendly dog named Kylee that tends to get excited around strangers. She will be hanging out in a different area of the yard and in my home during your stay and should not interrupt your visit and "R & R".
To make sure I am respectful of all future guests, I have a very strict policy about smoking inside the studio. Thank you ahead time for your consideration and for being respectful of this request. The neighborhood is very quiet so no loud parties or guests. I would really like to see a profile picture, a few words about yourself and the purpose of your trip before I can accept a booking, Thank you very much for understanding and I look forward to meeting you!
Guest will have access to the cottage area and parking described in the Airbnb listing.
Interaction with Guests
My only interaction with guests is a brief hello during your stay just to introduce myself. Otherwise, unless there is a problem, I will give you your complete privacy as I am a private person myself. For those of you only staying briefly, it is possible that I may not see you at all being that we may be on different schedules. :)
There is a bus stop about a mile away -- but public transportation is minimal. In our little town, it is best to have a vehicle to get around.
Just a reminder, I do have a 2 person maximum, this includes children and infants. I'm not kidding when I say "cozy cottage". Thanks! :)
This is my family home so please be respectful of my family's privacy. I am available by cell phone to answer any questions and to make sure your stay is perfect. If you need anything, just give me a call and I will do everything I can to accommodate you. The studio has most items (similar to a hotel stay). I do provide basic kitchen items, it's not gourmet, but should do the trick (Coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper are also there). I have a few other items (toiletries, dish soap, etc.), but not a lot. I have found that everyone has their own favorites so it's hard to know what to provide. Basically what's there you're welcome to, but may not be enough for a stay of more than a few days.
Again, no smoking, no pets and no laundry facilities - there is a laundromat about a mile a way. Please try to keep reasonably quiet out of respect for my wonderful neighbors. Please have a safe drive to the central coast and thanks again for booking with me!
We spent a fine week at the Cozy Cottage. Kymm was both helpful and non-intrusive. The cottage—an accessory unit on a larger residential property—appeared to be of fresh construction: clean, tidy and well equipped.
The location of the cottage is great for those who would like to explore the central coast and the city of San Luis Obispo. Los Osos is located just below Morro Bay and just above Montana de Oro State Park, which boasts of many hiking trails overlooking the dramatic California coastline. San Luis Obispo is about a 20 minute drive away (east on Los Osos Valley Road; left on Madonna; left on Higuera; right on Marsh). We would recommend visiting the city on a Thursday evening when Higuera is closed to cars and the farmers market is set up, along with local restaurant booths and much music. Would also recommend the Novo restaurant in SLO with it's patio overlooking a creek in back.
Of course, this is wine country too; many estate vineyards to visit.
Very easy and pleasurable experience in a clean and luxurious space. I drove right up, the space was clean with all the amenities one may need and the space was quiet and relaxing.
Id definitely stay here again!
Kymm lives in this adorable little town close to the beach. For people who like to be close to nature, this cottage is perfect. You can basically step outside and are surrounded by beautiful landscape. My boyfriend and I only stayed one night during our drive up the 1 from LA to SF.
The cottage was a perfect size for 2 people, cozy but still with enough storage so that you don't fall over your bags. The kitchen has everything you could need. There was coffee and tea and Kymm also provided waters, some fruit and other little things to make us feel welcome. It was very clean and the bed was comfy and had very soft sheets which I loved.
On very short notice, Kymm made it possible for us to check out a little later so that we could take a long walk around the amazingly beautiful Montana Oro State Park.
Overall, this was a great experience. My boyfriend and I would love to come back and spend some more time in this little cottage.
The location of the cottage is great for a stopover near Morro Bay or SLO. The hillside offers great views of Morro Bay on one side and mountains on the other. Function-wise, the studio layout is perfect for 2 people looking to travel comfortably while having the flexibility to prepare their own meals. The cottage has like-new appliances and everything you could need for preparing meals.
While the location and functionality are great, what makes this place special is the extra effort put in by its owner. Kymm takes steps beyond what one would expect of a studio apartment and has truly turned the place into a home away from home. The cottage's condition reflects incredible attention to detail: it is impeccably clean and there are snacks, excellent coffee and tea options, and even ziplocks, ice packs, and beach towels for daily excursions.
I will stay here again next time we are in the area.
Kymm's cottage was perfect in every way. Cute, clean, private and in a quiet neighborhood! Loved the two chairs outside to gaze at the stars, and just had a great experience all around. Can't wait to stay again on my next trip to Los Osos. Thanks again!
Perfect all around. The cottage was great, and we really appreciated the snacks! Very clean and new appliances/utensils. The location is also very close to everything. We would definitely return in the future. Thanks Kymm!
There were fresh flowers around
The front. Very good information on every aspect of the property.
The kitchen was stocked with all necessities plus cookies coffee and spices. We don't usually find these items in rental units. It made it feel homey.
I am currently living in Los Osos, California which is located on the central coast. I have lived there for 20 years but I am previously from San Diego. I work for a financial planning firm and I spend a lot of time with my children who are young adults now. When I am not hanging out with them I like to read, garden and travel to new places every chance I get. I really enjoy meeting new people and is why I enjoy the airbnb experience. That's pretty much all I'm up to right now. Oh, also, I'm a non-smoker, quiet but friendly, and I love a nice glass of wine with friends now and again! Cheers! :)
