Queen bed in quiet house one block from CU dorms. Free bus to main campus every 10 minutes, runs until 3am. Neighborhood include eight restaurants, supermarket, three ATMs, etc. within a few blocks. Perfect for parents or visiting scholars.

The Space

I have two guest bedrooms in a three-bedroom house. (I.e., I live here.)

This listing is for the larger bedroom, with a queen bed. My other listing is for the smaller bedroom with bunk beds. You can book one or both rooms. The other listing is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2016791

Also the living room has a couch that folds down into a queen-sized futon.

My house is quiet. I don't watch television or listen to loud music. The living room has sound dampening. The neighbors are usually quiet.

Guest Access

The house has one bathroom so expect to share it. You can use the kitchen and the washing machine, etc. I have bikes for guests to borrow.

Interaction with Guests

I work from home so I'm usually around all day. Some guests like to cook meals with me. Sometimes we make a dinner party and I invite friends over that want to meet my guests. I can do your laundry. If you have a dog he or she can go with Sarge and me on neighborhood walks and hikes in the mountains. Your dog will think this is the best vacation ever!

The Neighborhood

Williams Village (CU dorms) is one block away. Perfect for parents visiting for Family Weekend, graduation, etc. If you're a student you can eat in the university dining hall and use the recreation center (all one block away).

Also within walking distance are eight restaurants, a Sprouts supermarket, various shops, three ATMs, etc. The restaurants include Carelli's (one of the best Italian restaurants in Boulder), a gourmet burger place, a good pizzeria, southern BBQ, a bad Mexican restaurant, and Denny's, McDonald's, and Dairy Queen. The Dark Horse bar and a liquor store are two blocks away. Sorry, the neighborhood marijuana store closed last year! :-)

Getting around

The free campus bus is one block away. The bus runs until 3am, usually every 10 minutes. The Bound and 225 bus lines are one block away to get around Boulder. The airport bus (AB) stops a mile away (I can pick you up). Or take Green Ride from the airport to my door.

Other Things to Note

I have a large intact male dog. He loves everybody except other large intact male dogs. He's OK with cats. Guests say that he is the best part of staying here!

I'm a Dogvacay host too so sometimes there's a dog sitting guest here too.

  • Thomas is a very nice and kind guy. And he has a really awesome and fluffy dog - Sarge. I was staying with a colleague for a week. We were cooking for ourselves in the evenings, the kitchen is well equipped. In general the place is clean and we can highly recommend Thomas' place.

  • This is a comfortable, quiet, & clean place to stay. It is across the street from CU so is very convenient. Thomas is kind, welcoming, and helpful & knows Boulder well. I was very pleased with my first AirB&B experience.

About
I host about fifty guests a year from all over the world. I have a large dog. I run trails. I own seven bicycles. I didn't own a car until a few years ago, and I only drive it to take my dog up to the mountains. My favorite travel destination is Cuba. I tell Russian jokes that Americans don't get. I design surrealistic fashion footwear. I studied transpersonal psychology at a Tibetan Buddhist university.
