Great location. Walking distance to town. Lodge is part of a larger facility, with animals, temples, and eclectic furnishing. Lodge seems a little like a dorm, with shared mens' and women's bathrooms. But rooms were clean, with interesting decorations reflecting Egyptian theme. Pool is great.

This interesting property has a great pool and hot tub, it fits plenty of people! Our group of 20 all had beds to themselves (some couples and many singles). Rooms were very clean, showers hot, the furniture ranged from well-loved to new-ish. DeTraci was a very responsive host. Do double check on the arrangements, we were under the impression we had a space to ourselves but another group booked the second floor above us. Pack earplugs or noise machines if you need to get up early to make it easier to sleep (to block out other guests and roosters on the property).

The Isis Oasis is much more than an accommodation, it is a spiritual experience within itself. The energy and pure love that is invested into this unique and glorious location is unmistakable upon entry. DeTraci and the Isis staff have carefully and thoughtfully put themselves into the place to deepen the beauty of an already exquisite retreat. This space is ideal for groups looking to have an opportunity to connect with nature and share quality time together. It is ideal for celebration of a spiritual nature. The location has separate areas that can be rented out for a variety of group dynamics. There is a main lodge area for large parties, a retreat-style cabin with its own kitchen, and a two person cottage complete with a private jacuzzi. There are splendid aviaries, a small animal enclosure, and several grand temples for Goddess worship. We enjoyed spending time in the dinning hall for dinner and mingling where our party could have great conversations by the fire. The outstanding oak tree in the back is the center piece of the property, with a shrine and ring of chairs settled around to admire it. It was a beautiful space and an unmatched experience. No place could give us the gifts that this place did. DeTraci is a wonderful hostess. She can make any person feel like they are exactly where they need to be. Consider staying here for your next group destination.

This is easily one of the most unique places you'll ever stay. We rented the downstairs of the lodge, which has twelve rooms, as well as use of the kitchen and dining room, which are located in a separate building. There are exotic animals (not free-roaming), a temple, a shrine, and Egyptian-themed artwork and design everywhere. The folks at the center very nice and helpful, and they were very tolerant of our rather large, rambunctious, fun-loving group. It's important to understand a few things: the lodge is part of a much larger spiritual center/retreat; there are staff and other visitors on the property; and the kitchen is located in a separate building, along with coffee and other amenities. Overall, it was a wonderful and very, very different place to stay for our group. We were only able to rent it for one night, but would have happily stayed for two more.

My friends and I had an incredible experience here. The place is beautiful and is very close to the local town and russian river. The pool is really fun, and we were able to hang out by the pool all day and night. They also have a grill by the pool for poolside cooking, and a separate kitchen/dining area for having bigger group dinners. The staff are all awesome and were very helpful and fun to hang out with. They gave us many tours of all the exotic animals they take care of and would do so at a moments notice and we even got to play with some of the animals. The dancing macaw they have is really cool. Some of the parrots are huge talkers too so that was fun to see. All of the animals are very loved and well taken care of. This is easily the coolest airbnb i've ever stayed at and is perfect for just a couple of people or larger groups. Thanks to everyone at Isis Oasis for hosting us. We were around 22 in total, so not the easiest group, but there were no issues. There were other people staying at the lodge as well and everyone got along really well and we combined forces and all became friends. This was definitely an unforgettable and unique experience.

I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, she used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
