Our 12 room lodge is a unique place to stay if you are visiting the wine country and want to have a spiritual experience. Drive in to our retreat center and park at the office. There you will see a small ornate Temple dedicated to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis also known as Mother Nature. You may enter and offer a prayer while honoring the four directions. Then you can drive up a hill where you will find the Lodge. Park behind this edifice and enter this historic building built circa 1932. There is no kitchen in the Lodge, and none of the rooms have a private bath, TV, or air conditioning, however the building always stays cool. Each room is designed to reflect a different Egyptian Goddess and holds a description of the attributes she represents. All rooms have ceiling fans, exotic netting over the beds, and artifacts representing each particular Goddess within. You can enjoy the Safari Lounge with fireplace that overlooks the sparkling swimming pool just outside the lodge within a secluded garden. There is a hot spa and a sauna as well as a wood burning oven in this area. For large groups, you can rent the upstairs as well in addition, which is called the "Slumber Party Room". Please see our listing for this. One half of this enormous room is called the Pharaohs Chamber which is ornately decorated with a private jacuzzi tub. This is one gigantic room (where there are 12 single beds for overflow guests) with a rug on one side where you might like to do some yoga, or watch TV. If you need to stay connected, the entire Lodge has free wireless internet. There is also a ping pong table and pool table for your enjoyment. The lodge has two dorm style bathrooms, one for women and one for men. The upstairs has more bathrooms plus a spa tub room.
Opposite the lodge is our Grand Temple, which also serves as a theater. We often show films in the evening here, and as all the chairs are not installed permanently it can be open space on a beautiful wood floor for dancing. We have great sound equipment and the acoustics in the theater are phenomenal. The Theater can be rented out for an additional $200 per day, and the services of a professional DJ can be procured for an extra fee. A stage is also available with stage lights for theatrical groups. In addition you can rent our commercial kitchen to do your own cooking or our chef can make healthful gourmet meals for you who have a group of 10 or more.

Interaction with Guests
We offer tours of the property when requested and are available to check in guests when they arrive, and somebody is usually around to handle any immediate needs. We do make a point of giving our guests as much privacy as possibly however to ensure they feel comfortable, and have a sense that the place is theirs for the weekend.
We have a community dinner every Sunday night and guests are invited to join if they are here.
Our tiny town is only a few blocks long but there are numerous wine tasting rooms interesting shops to visit .
The Sonoma County Bus stops right in front of our
lodge and so you can take a bus from San Francisco or North Country and arrive at our door. We also pick up those flying in to the Santa Rosa Airport.
The Lodge has been assembled with much love and care over many years. Please respect the space and do your utmost to leave the place in as good a condition as how you found it upon your arrival. No items to be moved around without prior approval from Loreon. Please, no smoking anywhere in the lodge. Also, please keep the pool/spa area clean - there are several trash bins in this area, so please dispose of all trash appropriately. We would like your stay to be as enjoyable as possible, and in this regard, your cooperation is highly (email hidden)ank you!
The entire staff at An Oasis Lodge made us feel very welcome. Anything we needed they were more than happy to provide.
We were there for a company retreat and the combination of the theater, kitchen area, and chairs out by the giant tree were great locations to have discussions and lectures. The pool area was a great spot to relax after a long day.
I look forward to staying here again!
We had a most excellent time at the Isis Oasis Lodge. My group felt free to enjoy our vacation as we pleased. DeTraci and her staff were warm, welcoming, informative, charming and easy to find when we had questions. It is clear that the Oasis land fosters a special kind of energy that I imagine attracts like-minded patrons to come and participate in it's story, so we fit right in.
The animal sanctuary was utterly fascinating and inspiring. We weren't fully aware of all the surprises that Isis has in store for its visitors. Discovering these hidden joys for ourselves was an excellent group activity.
My friends and I had a great time at the Oasis Lodge. The lodge (more like a hostel) is pretty much as described in the listing. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna; some of us even dared to take a dip in the pool. We loved being able to have our toy poodle with us as he's an important part of our family. This was definitely an interesting and unusual place to stay.
I do have a few complaints:
1) The lodge itself was not secure. Each individual room had lock and key. However, anyone was free to walk into the lodge itself.
2) Since we rented out the entire lodge, we expected to have the entire lodge to ourselves. This was not the case. We understood that the rooms did not have private bathrooms, that we would be sharing the two dorm-style bathrooms. However, we did not realize that others outside our party would be able to use these bathrooms as well.
3) A bit overpriced. They say they rent out individual rooms for $100/night. You would think you'd get a discount for renting out the entire lodge. I also feel it's overpriced due to my first two complaints.
A true oasis, this magical and relaxing place kept us entertained and energized from the moment we arrived to our reluctant departure.
The Isis Oasis is one of a kind, a bit rough on the edges, for those of us who appreciate a genuine patina, it is heaven. (This is not the place for those who need everything to be new and matching.)
The Isis Oasis was the prefect place to celebrate my 40th birthday with 18 other lady friends. We hope to come again next year. We loved how free we felt to relax and enjoy the pool, hot tub and roam around the temples, gardens and animal sanctuary.
A particular treat was to enjoy the adobe structures made by Miguel including the hobbit houses, fire pit and pizza ovens.
Miguel and the other gracious staff made sure we had everything our hearts desired. We loved the pizzas cooked in the garden from the adobe ovens.
We all left with our souls and hearts full from our time together in a place so full of Goddess power. There is now an extra twinkle in our eyes as we will carry the spirit of Isis with us.
We had absolutely amazing weekend at the lodge. Staff at this place is the most welcoming, helpful and patient.
We spent most of the day by the pool, playing music and drinking champagne. People in our group would go wonder around the property occasionally and there are a lot to be seen. In the evening we made BBQ and pizza by the pool and later moved inside the theater to play some more music and dance. This property is absolutely amazing for a big group of people!
On behalf of everyone of our 15 people group, I wanna say thank you to people, who work there, you made our stay exceptional. Thank you!
Miguel did a great job being super accommodating for our large group that filled up the lodge - he was always there to increase our delightful experience at Isis Oasis. One example: when we first got to the pool, our group was very excited to be in the water and listening to music. He got us some speakers to increase the volume and then later - without any of us asking - he busted out these HUGE PA like speakers (you'd see these suckers at any concert venue) and got the fun going. Later, he came out with Tiki Torches around the pool. And another time he started us up a fire in the firepit. I was super surprised and how well Miguel could plug into the vibe of our group and do things to make us feel welcome all the time. Most places I think would just hand you the keys and leave, but this was not the case with Isis. We even had the chance to connect with some of the staff and learn about the community. Overall, we had a great experience.
One thing that might help to know about the Lodge - if you have a large group. The downstairs area has 12 rooms: 4 rooms have a queen and twin in each, and the other 8 have two twins in each. In total, there are 28 spots downstairs. If you have lots of couples in your group, I'd suggest taking the rooms with the two twin beds and scrunching them together :). Additionally, there is a lounge area with lots of couch space. The upstairs area has a queen bed and 12 twin beds (give or take a few) and lots of couch space all in one giant common space (with pool table, ping pong table, TV).
I hope to be back at the Isis Oasis and it was a great getaway from the city. We enjoyed canoeing not too far away on the Russian River, and it was really nice to enjoy a retreat like this. Thanks again.
We rented out the entire lodge for an overnight company retreat and could not have had a better experience! Everyone at Isis was extremely friendly, considerate, and accommodating. The venue itself was perfect both for team bonding and company brainstorming, with a variety of different spaces across the property.
We made use of both the outdoor pizza oven to cook our dinner and when we ran out of ingredients Miguel generously shared his own. There is also a great kitchen we used to prepare our breakfast the next day.
As a big rowdy group of mostly twenty-somethings, there were multiple times our hosts could have gotten annoyed or upset with us. Instead, they were helpful, gracious, patient, and even joined in the revelry as the night wore on.

I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, She used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth by Miguel Elliott. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
