Other Things to Note
EARLY CHECK-INS: Early check-ins are welcome (particularly suited for early landing trans-Atlantic flights). For those making use of this please bear in mind that my previous nights guests do not normally check-out until around 11am. The early check-in allows you drop your luggage, get some hints and tips and to then head out to undertake some early sightseeing.
LATE CHECK-OUTS: Late Check-outs are never a problem. If a new guest arriving on the day you leave then you are welcome to leave your luggage in the front room, take the keys with you, and return at time that is suitable for you to make your onward journey.
PROFILE PIC: As an added security measure I also do not take bookings from guests who have no profile pic, or whose pic is of something that is obviously not them.
I run a relaxed and easy apartment, but as we are in an apartment complex there is a requirement that noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm.
We don't allow pets in the apartment. Smoking is also not allowed inside the apartment, although there is an open air balcony just outside the front door for those need one every now and then :-)
Other than these small things you can essentially treat this great space as your own home.
Dining table for meals made in the apartment which has full cooking facilities: electric cooker oven and microwave.
We didn't meet Dave personally as he had to travel at that time. But he arranged everything with a friend who brought us to the appartment. Dave was available on Air Bnb to answer our questions and to help. The appartment is as described, every important information is noted on a note (wifi password, how to use devices, etc.). Water and biscuits were waiting for us in the room as well as notes on where to buy food, where to eat, what to visit and a map of the city.
I would definite recommend this accommodation for a stay in Dublin as it is perfectly located, clean and with everything necessary
After confirming our booking, Dave provide tons of information on public transportation in Dublin, activities, restaurants and logistics. All of this was very helpful and I used his recommendations numerous times while in Dublin. Dave was out of town but kindly arranged for a friend to meet us and give us the keys to the apartment. We were sad not to have met Dave but His friend was very helpful and everything went smoothly. The room was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly as we were mostly looking for a secure place to sleep and leave our things as we explored Dublin.
Dave's apartment was a great location, and was clean and extremely well organized! Dave was very quick to respond to all questions and messages, and his daughter was able to meet us within a few minutes of our arrival to orient us to the accommodation. Dave also provided a printed map of the area with a handful of recommended pubs/restaurants, which turned out to be really helpful for us. (Burdock's fish and chips doesn't look like much from the outside, but easily the best fish & chips I've had while in Ireland!)
There was another person staying in this 2-bedroom apartment, but we never actually met each other (3-night stay) and the apartment was quiet and well kept. Would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling through Dublin.
Sauberkeit in Ordnung.
Einzig das Bett ist für zwei Einzelpersonen etwas schmal.
Ansonsten absolut empfehlenswert!
Dave is a great host! He is very helpful but also lets you have your privacy. The private bathroom on the hall is great. The apartment is in a great location, walking distance to everything. He sent us to the Long Hall for a pint which was perfect, a great traditional pub. Highly recommend!
Dave is obviously an experienced host and I very much enjoyed staying at his apartment in the heart of artsy Dublin, which also happens to be close to everything. Okay, so Dublin isn't huge- in fact, I think I walked more within a terminal at Heathrow! - but it was nice to have both the hippest cafes as well as the major historical monuments just steps away. It was an added bonus to get a private bath as well. Oh, and the host was pretty cool too!

About the Host, Dave
I'm from Dublin, Ireland but have spent quite a bit of time in Kansas, USA and have travelled extensively since I was a teenager. As an experienced traveller I know what it is that is most precious to those who find themselves in foreign cultures; a clean and warm bed, a welcoming host, some insights into where the locals go to eat and drink. I have taken all these thoughts and combined them into an experience that I would love to have had in my own travels.
I am a founder member of the Dublin Host Ambassador Group for Airbnb. Our group advises them of improvements we feel will enhance the whole Airbnb experience and we also direct new hosts on the road to creating positive memorable guest interactions.
While I'm always pleased to meet people from any corner of the world, I have to admit that I have an immense fondness for Americans, this comes out of great experience I had living there when I was younger and for the huge amount of support and encouragement I received from some many Americans over so many years. I've not yet an American that I couldn't like!
I have also made many visits to Germany, Austria and Switzerland and enjoy interacting with guests from that neck of the woods. Please bear in mind though, that my German speaking skills extend to being able to order a beer and a donut :-)
I'm a photographer who runs his own photography school which allows me to travel around Ireland, Europe and the USA to shoot scenes that I like, many of these are on the walls of the apartment. If you're also a keen photographer then I look forward to talking cameras, techniques and creativity with you. If you're not then I still look forward to hearing your story!
