This comfortable double bedroom is right in the heart of the city! It comfortably fits two and is centrally located in a quiet area of Temple Bar, just minutes from most key sights. Enjoy a full kitchen, roof access, and easy access public transport.

The Space

This is a great two bed, private room in the heart of Temple Bar, but on the quiet end! Everything in Dublin City Centre is no more than a five minute walk away and all the major transport hubs such as Train and Dart stations, Luas Tram and Bus stops to all parts of Dublin are within very easy reach. The AirLink bus from Dublin airport stops almost at our front door!

Wireless internet, including use of a netbook is included as are multiple iPod/iPhone chargers and powered speakers. multiple plug converters for plug types from all around the world. There is also a large LCD TV with a wide range of channels in the living room.

We provide all bedclothes and towels and there is a clothes washer and dryer if you wish to freshen up your clothes during your stay. There is also a hairdryer and plug adapters to use in the room if you wish. You will have exclusive use of your own bathroom which has a shower and a full sized bath.

As there are over 200 restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk from the apartment you won't be short of places to eat! If you wish to cook for yourself the there are also full kitchen facilities in the apartment.

You essentially have all of Dublin city at your feet when you stay with me. You will have no need for transport of any kind to get around the city and can easily walk to a huge number of cultural and tourist spots.

On confirmation all guests receive a 1,000 word document with tons of hints and tips, including the best way to get from the airport, suggestions for things to do and see along with a list of good places to eat.

Your host is a photography tutor who is usually on hand to point out the great spots to photograph in this beautiful the city and beyond.

Guest Access

Guests will have full access to the apartment, including the kitchen, TV/Cable and full washing facilities with a washing machine and dryer in the kitchen.

Interaction with Guests

When schedules allow, Dave will normally meet you in the Legend's Bar across from the Airlink bus stop and bring you up to the apartment. He will also give you an in-depth overview of where to visit and eat in the immediate vicinity of the apartment.

The Neighborhood

We are so close to everything that it's almost criminal! The nearest coffee shop is 55 seconds (with many, many more within a 5 minute walk), the nearest pub is 45 seconds away (and again, with so many to choose from within easy walking distance) which the choice of restaurants almost endless.

Getting around

We are right on the Stop Number 10 from the Airlink airport bus and are within easy reach of the main train stations and central bus station.

Other Things to Note

Early morning check-ins are more than welcome (particularly suited for early landing trans-atlantic flights). For those making use of this please bear in mind that my previous nights guests do not normally leave until around 11am. The early check-in allows you drop your luggage, get some hints and tips from me and to then head out to undertake some early sightseeing.

Please bear in mind that single bookings are generally not accepted for weekend nights (Friday, Saturday or Sunday). Please contact me via the Airbnb messaging system if you have any queries about single night weekend bookings.

As an added security measure I also do not take bookings from guests who have no profile pic, or whose pic is of something that is obviously not them.

  • When you are in a foreign city, you want to stay somewhere near the popular attractions with a host who knows some good local spots too. That's what Dave provides.

Location can't be beat, you'll save money not needing to spend as much on trams and cabs. Apartment was tidy, as advertised, and he had a pitcher of filtered water and cookies waiting in the room.

Hard to go wrong with this option.

  • Dave and his place were great. He had a map, which showed his apartment relative to local bars, restaurants and transportation. Very organized. The room was great -- clean, spacious, and good wifi.

    100% satisfied.

  • Staying at Dave's was a great end to our trip to Ireland! We had a little bit of trouble getting to the apartment and were a little late and Dave couldn't have been more gracious! He takes the time to go over Dublin and make great suggestions. The room was comfortable for two with lots of privacy and the location could not be beat- we were able to walk to all the major sights and pubs! Definitely recommend this spot!

  • Dave's place is a grand little apartment, right in the heart of the Temple Bar area, but still sufficiently insulated from street noise (provided windows are closed).

Very comfortable room and bed, and of extras for convenience including wifi, various plugs/adapters etc. Liked the cookies too!

Thanks Dave, hope to see you again one day

  • Everything was absolutely perfect. The house was well equipment, good bed, kitchen with all you can need, situation can't be better. If the hoster is not at home, maybe you share the living room and kitchen with other people. Definitely good choice.

  • Dave was the absolute best host I have ever stayed with. After we made our booking he immediately sent clear and helpful instructions on how to get to the apartment, getting hold of him and tips about Dublin. He met with us earlier than check in time and welcomed us into his apartment. After that he spent time showing us some of his favorite places in the city and gave us suggestions on what to do. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Dave to anyone!

  • First of all, Dave was a FANTASTIC host! He stayed up late to let us in and then gave us the low down of Dublin and some great suggestions for food etc. His home is so cute and our bedroom was a good size for a weekend away! There is nothing I can fault. I highly recommend staying in his gorgeous home.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Dave's lovely home! It was the most comfortable air b&b we've stayed in! Wish we could've stayed longer. In a great location and close to just about everything. Dave sat down and went over the map with us and gave excellent recommendations. Very friendly, warm, and inviting. Highly recommended!

I'm from Dublin, Ireland but have spent quite a bit of time in Kansas, USA and have travelled extensively since I was a teenager. As an experienced traveller I know what it is that is most precious to those who find themselves in foreign cultures; a clean and warm bed, a welcoming host, some insights into where the locals go to eat and drink. I have taken all these thoughts and combined them into an experience that I would love to have had in my own travels. I am a founder member of the Dublin Host Ambassador Group for Airbnb. Our group advises them of improvements we feel will enhance the whole Airbnb experience and we also direct new hosts on the road to creating positive memorable guest interactions. While I'm always pleased to meet people from any corner of the world, I have to admit that I have an immense fondness for Americans, this comes out of great experience I had living there when I was younger and for the huge amount of support and encouragement I received from some many Americans over so many years. I've not yet an American that I couldn't like! I have also made many visits to Germany, Austria and Switzerland and enjoy interacting with guests from that neck of the woods. Please bear in mind though, that my German speaking skills extend to being able to order a beer and a donut :-) I'm a photographer who runs his own photography school which allows me to travel around Ireland, Europe and the USA to shoot scenes that I like, many of these are on the walls of the apartment. If you're also a keen photographer then I look forward to talking cameras, techniques and creativity with you. If you're not then I still look forward to hearing your story!
