Other Things to Note
EARLY CHECK-INS: Early check-ins are welcome (particularly suited for early landing trans-Atlantic flights). For those making use of this please bear in mind that my previous nights guests do not normally check-out until around 11am. The early check-in allows you drop your luggage, get some hints and tips and to then head out to undertake some early sightseeing.
LATE CHECK-OUTS: Late Check-outs are never a problem. If a new guest arriving on the day you leave then you are welcome to leave your luggage in the front room, take the keys with you, and return at time that is suitable for you to make your onward journey.
PROFILE PIC: As an added security measure I also do not take bookings from guests who have no profile pic, or whose pic is of something that is obviously not them.
I run a relaxed and easy apartment, but as we are in an apartment complex there is a requirement that noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm.
We don't allow pets in the apartment. Smoking is also not allowed inside the apartment, although there is an open air balcony just outside the front door for those need one every now and then :-)
Other than these small things you can essentially treat this great space as your own home.
Dave's place was absolutely great! Unfortunately, Dave was out of town so we never met but he kindly arranged for someone to meet us and show us the lay of the land. The place was extremely clean and there were helpful guides for everything. The location could not have been better! We were able to easily walk to everything including the Guinness Store, the Jameson Distillery, Trinity College, and St Stephens Green. I would highly recommend!
Dave was a really great host! He explained us the main points of Dublin guiding us with a map full of his recommendations. We would definitely stay again at his home next time! The apartment was incredibly well located just a few blocks from temple bar and the high street next to Liffey river. Everything was clean and tidy and the decoration was really nice.
Thanks for everything, you made our trip start amazing!! Great host and person. 100% recommended :)
Dave was an absolute delight, great location, great insights on what to see and do. Would definitely stay here again.
We had an excellent stay in Dave's apartment. First, the location was perfect. It was a 10-15 minute walk to most of main areas of the city, but there were tons of shops and restaurants right around the corner. Also, Dave gave us great directions to his place, so we had no trouble getting there from the airport. Second, the apartment was clean, quiet, and welcoming. Dave thought of everything we would need during our trip. We especially loved his map of the city with tourist spots, restaurants with wifi, and bus routes marked. Overall, we had a great time in Dublin thanks to Dave. The most disappointing thing about the trip was not getting to meet him!
Thanks Dave ! :)

I'm from Dublin, Ireland but have spent quite a bit of time in Kansas, USA and have travelled extensively since I was a teenager. As an experienced traveller I know what it is that is most precious to those who find themselves in foreign cultures; a clean and warm bed, a welcoming host, some insights into where the locals go to eat and drink. I have taken all these thoughts and combined them into an experience that I would love to have had in my own travels.
I am a founder member of the Dublin Host Ambassador Group for Airbnb. Our group advises them of improvements we feel will enhance the whole Airbnb experience and we also direct new hosts on the road to creating positive memorable guest interactions.
While I'm always pleased to meet people from any corner of the world, I have to admit that I have an immense fondness for Americans, this comes out of great experience I had living there when I was younger and for the huge amount of support and encouragement I received from some many Americans over so many years. I've not yet an American that I couldn't like!
I have also made many visits to Germany, Austria and Switzerland and enjoy interacting with guests from that neck of the woods. Please bear in mind though, that my German speaking skills extend to being able to order a beer and a donut :-)
I'm a photographer who runs his own photography school which allows me to travel around Ireland, Europe and the USA to shoot scenes that I like, many of these are on the walls of the apartment. If you're also a keen photographer then I look forward to talking cameras, techniques and creativity with you. If you're not then I still look forward to hearing your story!
