Light double room to rent in my 2 bedroom flat. Right in the heart of Hackney, just minutes from London Fields and Broadway Market.
A modern flat on the 5th floor with fantastic views overlooking a small London square and city skyscrapers.
The room is a good sized double with a comfortable bed. All bedding and towels are provided.
The flat is pretty quiet with good sound insulation and has:
- Floor to ceiling windows in the living room and access to a small balcony
- Large 42 inch LED TV and Blu-ray player
- Modern kitchen with gas hob and electric oven
- Gas central heating and hot water
- Good security
- Fast wifi
- Bicycle storage (there's also on street metered car parking)
- 100% renewable energy electricity + gas supply
You're welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee and cereal for breakfast.
The flat and balcony. You will have your own set of keys to come and go as you please.
There's loads going on in the area... pubs, parks, cafes, Broadway Market and a great Picturehouse cinema are all in the close by. London Fields is a 5 minute walk and Victoria Park 10 minutes. Also very near to Shoreditch and the City.
Just 5 minutes walk to London Fields train station (10 minute train to Liverpool St), 10 minutes walk to Hackney Central Overground, or 10 minutes on the bus to Bethnal Green Tube station on the Central line.
Sorry, no smoking or pets.
I'm so very thankful I was able to find Fearghal's Hackney flat - it was absolutely perfect for my first visit to London.
The apartment is AMAZING, especially for the price.
The space is large, tastefully decorated, and modern in amenities. The views are lush and tree-lined, and there's a surprising amount of natural light even on overcast days, since its on a high floor and the windows are unobstructed by close buildings. I quickly realized what a difference this can make, coming from a sunny place to somewhat dreary London. I always woke up feeling pleasantly energized by my surroundings. The kitchen/flat has all appliances you could want, including a laundry machine. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable Queen-size bed and a full closet to store our things. The bathroom was also very clean, there were plenty of fresh towels to use, and a maid came mid-week and changed our linens for us. It was nice to arrive to such comfort and cleanliness after a long day of sightseeing.
The location is EXCELLENT.
If you want to see all of the major London tourist sites like we did, transport is easy - There is a bus stop down the block, with a variety of convenient routes, including the 55 to Oxford Circus, and Hackney Central station is a 5-minute walk away. If you're looking for a more local experience, it's well-situated to enjoy the everyday attractions of East London. London Fields park is right down the street if you fancy a pick-up game of football, and you can take a short walk over to Broadway Market on Saturdays to peruse through a variety of stands selling food, art, jewelry, and clothing, or even sight a celebrity (we shared a bench with (website hidden) while enjoying a French crepe!). There's a movie theater and a ton of local restaurants nearby. It's also walkable to the Dalston area, where you can find many of the more young, hipster/artist type bars and shops that make East London unique.
Lastly, Fearghal was an INCREDIBLE host!
Our itinerary was delayed due to hurricane Sandy, and Fearghal was completely flexible and accommodating in our check-in. He immediately made sure we felt welcome, encouraging us to help ourselves to cooking utensils, oil, spices, etc. whenever we needed. He had even stocked up on a variety of cereals for us for breakfast. Since he would usually leave for work before we woke up and we both had various evening plans, we didn't see him much during the weekdays. He was always respectful of our space and privacy. It was like we had the flat to ourselves! When we did happen to run into Fearghal, he was always cheery, inviting, and a friendly conversationalist. He's also a really good cook - One night he shared a Thai dish he made...Delicious!
I really couldn't have asked for anything more in our stay. Fearghal is the best! I highly recommend.
Born in Wales and lived in London for the last 15 years, apart from 10 months backpacking around Asia. I work as a graphic designer in Hackney and enjoy getting out, seeing friends, art exhibitions, cycling and music. I love good food and like to cook and stay healthy. I hope I'm a good host, helpful and friendly. I live in a very modern flat, and have furnished it with vintage mid century bits and pieces. I have a passion for the environment, and try to practise that at work and at home. So the flat is powered by 100% renewable energy and all cleaning products are green and friendly. Music-wise I've always been into bands - more of an alternative/indie peson - though I don't go to so many gigs these days.
