This cozy cottage along with two barns was once part of a a working farm. Hand-hewn original oak post and beam construction is exposed; it gives the cottage and its cathedral ceilings, a light drenched airy ambience. Equipped with a full kitchen, one gets the country rustic atmosphere without forfeiting modern conveniences. The reclaimed wood siding in the bedroom catches the early morning light reflections of the sunrise. Hand-crafted details abound, the cabinetry, hand-made glass, and photography add accents to the decor.
The bucolic surroundings are a great place for respite. One can relax in our perennial gardens or sit in the shade of the one hundred year old wooden barn amongst the hummingbirds and barn swallows. At night sit on our deck and enjoy a starry night or moon shadows without street-lighting to impede the night sky.

The cottage and the grounds. Entry into the barns is not permitted.
We both loved our stay. Everything we needed was on hand. Would definitely stop here again.
Thanks again Stephen and Barbara
Great location. Wonderful space including a fully stocked kitchen. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back.
Friendly and attentive renters.
We love the barn! We had an amazing trip and would recommend to everyone. Thanks, Lisette!
Lisette and her partner were great hosts - we took advantage of their guide book, and even got some great cross country ski tips.
Our stay at the Farmstead Cottage was extremely pleasant. The cottage is cozy and has everything you would need for a getaway, and the kitchen is extremely well stocked. Lisette was easy to communicate with and prompt in responding. We arrived right after a snowfall and had a great time exploring the surrounding areas and enjoying the quiet, and bright stars. The bed was a little small (full not queen size), but we had a great time overall.
Lisette's farm cottage is a perfect upstate retreat. We spent a frigid New Years there and it was wonderfully warm, cozy and quiet. The location is ideal with excellent hiking, scenic drives, and delicious food all very close by. Lisette and Reinhold were very informative, kind and easy to communicate with.
Absolutely fantastic stay!
Lisette and Reinhold were perfect hosts, accommodating our last-minute late check-in and making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.
The cottage was homey, warm, and beautiful. The personal touches that Lisette and Reinhold put into the space really made it feel special.
We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely come back the next time we find ourselves in the area.
I have been lucky to have lived in many different places. Through my training as an architect, I learned to have a great respect for the natural and built environment. When I travel, I like to understand a place through the lens of the people living there and their history. So when I saw our barns for the first time, I fell in love with them immediately. The barns and the rural landscape surrounding them are really a part of our shared iconic heritage. Unfortunately, each year many more barns disappear. We have been slowly renovating the barns on our own. Come enjoy them and relax in our bucolic surroundings!
