A beautiful, spacious duplex in the perfect location, just minutes from Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum and countless restaurants and bars.
Perfect for singles or couples, this duplex condo will be the best place for your NYC visit. I live here with my girlfriend and we absolutely love it.
Located in the upper east side on 81st between 2nd and 3rd avenues, you're a 10 minute walk from The Metropolitan Museum and the heart of Central Park, around the corner from the most popular strip of restaurants and bars in the upper east side, and a 7 minute walk from the main subway (email hidden) (4,5,6 train) or the 77th st station (6 train). You can get pretty much any kind of food you want within a 5 minute walk.
The apartment is huge, with high ceilings and filled with natural light every day. Facing the back of the building, the windows are filled with green trees (in the summer) and creates a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
The building has a video intercom for the door to the building, a doorman from 10-6 and elevator access, providing you with a safe and comfortable stay.
The kitchen is all brand new, with stainless steel appliances, stove, microwave, huge fridge with ice machine and a big sink.
There is a queen size bed that feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. Seriously...it's super comfortable.
Need some fresh air? Open up one of the big glass doors and hang out on one of our two private porches. Perfect for smokers who want to step outside (we don't allow smoking in the apartment).
There is one full bathroom and one half bathroom. The upstairs and the downstairs each have separate controls for the heater/air conditioner, so you can set it to your own preference.
The building also has a laundry room with washers and dryers so you can stay so fresh and so clean clean.
Let us know if you have any questions about the apartment, or about your trip to NYC in general. We're happy to help!
The apartment, laundry, elevator, tv, kitchen...everything.
We are readily available for any questions or needs that guests have.
Close to Central Park, lots of amazing restaurants and the Metropolitan Museum. The area is safe and friendly, with a lot of families living in the area,

The apartment was great and served exactly what I needed. David was extremely responsive and quick to respond to any questions. The furnishings were modern and comfortable. Having microwave and dishes on hand was convenient. Check-in & check-out could not have been easier. I would stay here again. Thanks for making my first Airbnb experience a positive one!
David & Alison were the perfect hosts, the apartment was perfect for my 2 week stay. Would definitely come back!
I've stayed at David's flat during the holiday season on 2013 with my mother. During my preparations and my stay David was very helpful and communicative.
We found the apartment with some food in the fridge (even beers :)) and in the pantry which helped us since we arrived quite tired and not wanting to go to the market.
Even though the apartment has only one bed David has an air mattress that can be used and was one of the factors that was decisive for my reservation since I was travelling with my mother.
The building has a doormen which is very helpful if you are going to receive packages. Also it has a laundry room and David leaves a card filled with enough credit to use it during your stay.
The neighborhood is really nice and it's very well connected with public transports. If you want to go to Brooklyn for example you just walk to 86th st and take one of the express services and you'll be in Brooklyn in no time.
One nice little detail is that David leaves a nice guide about places to go, where to find a market and how to use the house amenities.
Oh, and some other nice details are:
- the internet connection is super good!
- the fridge is great! very spacious and accessible
- there is an exhaust hood above the oven
- there is a coffee machine
- how near to the Central Park is (specially to the running trail)
Would definitely stay here again
It was my first time using airbnb and I actually did not expect such a great experience. I stayed exactly 33 nights in that really gorgeous apartment and I loved it! In the end, it almost felt like home to me.
For NYC this place is huge and can accommodate 3-4 people easily.
I do not think, I have to emphasize (as my prewriters did) the perfect location of this place.
Not in the direct hurry and noise of the city, but still very close to anything you would want to go to.
There was a very detailed script about the apartment and the close surroundings, that was very helpful, too.
Many people 'complaint' about the missing blinds - I personally, did not have any problems with that, since it was not too bright in the mornings - besides, why would you want to sleep in, being in New York?
All in all, I would really like to thank Alison and David for that great experience and can only recommend them to anyone else!
Very nice apartement in a very good and central neighbourhood with a lot a restaurants and bars nearby. Metropolitan Museum and Central park in walking distance. The pictures describe the spot exactly. We would absolutely book it again!
This spot is really nice!!! It has a perfect location. Around the corner are very nice restaurants, a supermarket and some bars. That there are curtains missing wasn't a problem at all. It was easy to communicate with David and Alison. We only had one mail which didn't get through at the beginning. They left us a guide on the table with some sightseeing and shopping information about the area.
The flat really looks like the one at the pictures. I would choose this place again and would defenetly recommend David and Alison as they were very nice hosts!
Great spot, would definitely return. The host were available for everything I needed which wasn't much
My friend and I stayed at David and Alison's apartment for the month of June. The apartment was in a great neighborhood and ideal location for us with many great bars in the area and a 10 minute walk to the subway so it's easy to go anywhere! We were also able to visit central park almost everyday, one of our favorite places in the city! The apartment is definitely a rental in the sense that the furnishings are minimal and not of the best quality but they do have everything you need and the space is fully functional (I would not sleep on the futon as it is somewhat uncomfortable, the bed upstairs is absolutely amazing though)! Like another reviewer mentioned, there were no blinds in any windows so it isn't very private but we knew that before making the reservation and were ok with it! Additionally, the half bath downstairs wasn't working for the duration of our stay, which was fine for us but may not be convenient for others. David and Alison were very easy to get in touch with! To do laundry, they had to put money on a laundry card for us several times. All I had to do was text them and they would put money on it that day, we had great communication! Overall, we had a great stay in their apartment and would recommend it to anyone going to NYC who need a nice place to stay in a quiet & safe neighborhood. Thanks for an enjoyable experience!
We spent 9 nights at David’s apartment and it was great!
Location is perfect, just few minutes’ walk from subway (we used to go to 86 st.), 10 min walk from central park and many nice bars and restaurants around the apartment.
The neighborhood is perfect; quiet and beautiful. The building is clean and it was always nice to come back to after a long day outside.
The apartment is sweet and exactly as it described in David’s profile. It is clean and has all what you need.
The bed is comfy, bathroom is good and we always had warm waters to take a shower.
The only thing with this apartment is that there are no curtains on the windows so you wake up very early in the mornings, but for us it was ok since we wanted to wake up early and spend full days outside.
We definitely recommend this apartment and hope to go back there in our next visit in NYC.
My wife and I traveled from Australia to spend two weeks in David's condo as part of our honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The condo is exactly as it appears in the profile. It's spacious, full of light, modern and surprisingly quiet. I am very noise sensitive and not once did I hear any intrusive sounds coming from neighboring tenants or from the street. The basement has good clothes washing and drying machines which we appreciated. The location is great since it's close to central park and the Metropolitan Museum, and it's well serviced by the subway, shops and restaurants. It's in a very nice residential area and not within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions which tend to be lower on the island. We were aware of this so it wasn't a problem for us, and we definitely prefer to stay in a quiet area than a bustling one. Anyway, the subway quickly got us everywhere we wanted to go. We didn't meet David in person but he was always responsive to our requests for information, and he responded in a friendly way. David's condo offers excellent value for money. We will highly recommend this condo to our Australian friends.
