  • Julian was super quick to respond to all requests and concerns. The house was just as photographed. Towels and games come with the rental and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans and baking materials - perfect for our friendly cook-off! The beds were comfortable and each bedroom had its own rustic charm. And the home was situated in a super convenient location for grocery shopping and parking was abundant.

Kingston itself it a beautiful town with historic buildings and charming mom and pop stores. Definitely check out Half Moon Books if you have the time. :)

  • Julian was a pleasure to deal with. His responses to every question came within minutes, and he could not have made picking up and dropping off the key any easier. There was a very comprehensive "manual" in the foyer of how to work everything, and what they expected done and how before you left. The house itself is as large as the picture looks, and VERY roomy. It is also very nicely decorated and very comfortable! Everything you would expect to find at home is there, and very easy to find! It is also a very short walk to town which is filled with great restaurants and other things to see and do, so extremely well situated. We loved the house, and would definitely stay there again, both because we loved dealing with Julian, and because the house is really THE Saint James!

  • I stayed at the Saint James in February. The house was amazing. Between the fireplace and the heating, we were toasty despite the cold outside. The home was warm, inviting, beautifully designed and well maintained. Julian, the host, was very sweet, accommodating and easy to communicate with, making himself available for quick question or assistance. We also walked into town and went to some of the destinations Julian recommended on his website (ie Boitsons, Duo, Stockade Bar...) which were spot on! We also cooked a couple delicious meals, and the kitchen was amply supplied with all the cookware and stemware we needed. Everything was so comfortable from the big beds to the furnishings in the entertaining spaces - we didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a place to get away Upstate NY. One of the best short trips I’ve taken in a while. Looking forward to staying there again!

  • Property is well-furnished but the central heating is not up to mark. We wore ski pants during the stay. There were space heaters provided but don't count on them cos once you pluck them in it short circuits everything. We had that at least 10 times until we decided to use ski pants as the solution. I come from the tropics and had to ask Julien what are space heaters since the check out list gave mention of them. The way he replied, I felt was condescending. Well, as Julien puts it having the cold weather is part of the New York experience. You may wanna try this experience but bring your ski pants. I felt for the amount charged it needs to have better heating and service.

  • Julian’s home was wonderful! Convenient location, easy entry, and stunning interiors. As soon as we walked through the door, we felt at home. Easy communication, and all in all, a totally five-star experience. Couldn't recommend The Saint James more highly!

  • We were so pleased with Julian's house- it is a beautiful Victorian & there was nice attention to detail. Julian was very responsive to emails & very accommodating. The house was clean, comfortable & had everything that we might need during out stay. I would highly recommend both Julian as a host & the St. James for a wonderful place to stay in the Hudson River Valley.

  • Before we even explored the beautiful house and the perfect location, we thought 'We are home'. This wonderful property is possibly the nicest, most pristine clean and convenient house we've had the pleasure to stay in. It is wonderfully furnished, comfortable and has everything you could want for a perfect vacation. This is not your standard 'rental'. This is a fantastic home and we had an incredible time. Kingston is a perfect little town ,quiet but nor dead .We cooked in the wonderful kitchen and then we relaxed in the beautiful garden . The setting is idyllic. I have never slept so well in my life. There are not enough adjectives to fully describe how great our stay was. I can only say we will be back again and it was, in a word, inspiring. Thank you, Julian, for thinking of absolutely everything a vacation house needs.

  • The Saint James is a beautiful home located in Kingston. We were in Kingston for a wedding an the home was just perfect. It is easy walking distance to the center of town with great restaurants and shops.

The house is decorated beautifully with a fare for design and a nod to whimsy. All the bedrooms are bright and very clean. The dining room, entertainment room and study are great places to relax.

Best of all is Julian. He was very helpful before arriving in Kingston. He checked in several times during our stay to make sure everything was ok.

Highly recommend this wonderful home for a weekend escape from the city or longer.

    Thanks.
