"Once a predominantly Irish Catholic community, in recent years South Boston has become increasingly desirable among young professionals and families who are attracted to the neighborhood's strong sense of community and quick access to downtown and public transportation. People from all over the city enjoy taking a stroll around Castle Island, a Revolutionary War-era fort and 22-acre park that is connected to the mainland. "Southie Pride" is on full display in March when city residents flock to the neighborhood to enjoy the annual South Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade. Today the breathtaking South Boston Waterfront is emerging as Boston's newest neighborhood. Already home to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, planned development for the Waterfront includes residential, office, retail, and hotel use. The Institute for Contemporary Art, slated to open in September, stands as an iconic symbol of the South Boston Waterfront's unlimited potential." (City of Boston)
Sorry but no pets.
This was our first air bnb stay and we were rather disappointed. The apartment was in the neighborhood that was described but was rather dingy. There was major construction going on next door - lots of noise and the street was blocked when we were leaving and made it difficult to get to the car. We were unable to use the internet and the TV kept freezing up. Bathroom needed a good cleaning.
The "dingy" neighborhood and construction nearby are selling for almost 1million a piece. Look up 45 A street, 6 condos selling for $982 a piece directly next door.(website hidden)(phone number hidden)-A-St-3-Boston-MA-02127. The internet was working fine, password is on the back of the modem as described. When I recieved a txt that you were having problems with logging on, I responded right back with detailed directions. Then never heard back, again I txt'd and asked if you got on and no answer. I would have gone over to show you.
As my first airbnb stay,I can say that I had such a great time in Boston.Christine had great reviews which is why we chose her place.Pros: close to subway( which was very easy to learn),closeby restaurant called "Stephi's in Southie"( great place for late night drinks and dessert),Starbuck's, Dunkin Donuts, close to Convention Center, very clean( I'm really weird about clean sheets),bottled water and COFFEE were available.Cons:The unmentioned ongoing construction right next door(I was really hoping to sleep in :( ) which led to no Wi-Fi at that time.I did however mention that to Christine and she did say she was working to get that fixed, and offered us the Starbucks around the corner. There we also tenants above is that chose to run up and down the stairs at two o'clock in the morning, which I know she has no control over that, but still annoying.Overall,We had a good experience, went to Quincy Market,Prudential Center,Boston Tea Party, Museum of Science,Havahd, and many others.
Cozy 1BR on first floor of multi-floor house. Extremely convenient to T stop on Red Line (~1 block), Convention Center (~10' walk) and several local restaurants & bars. Christine v. responsive to email/txt requests, good host.
Very nice room, reasonable for the price. Easy to check in and out of. Safe location, adjacent to a police station. Ample street parking on the weekends.
Booked the apartment well in advance for a conference in February and was very pleased when I arrived. Christine was a great communicator as I traveled up North with Boston being my ultimate destination for a week of work. I had ice and snow storms to navigate through, and she was very responsive, and a pleasure to meet, and extremely informative. I took her advise and visited "Foodies" market before the big snow storm and was comfortably prepared for it when it came. Nice to watch the snow fall while telecommuting (wireless reception was great!) and simmering homemade soup on the stove-top! Felt very much at home, comfortable and safe. Convenient to all sorts of transportation options, convenient to the Convention Center. My needs are basic, and as a self-employed individual the savings of staying at Christine's apartment over the major Hotel were a huge bonus. (Making homemade soup during the storm wasn't so bad either!) Coffee and juice and bagels and muffins were provided by Christine - I froze them for the next guest as I do not eat them and did not want them to go bad I traveled with my own food, and of course stocked up at the market. Coin-op washer in the basement was helpful. Will return to this place again next year if it is available.
This was a very quiet and comfortable apartment, with easy access to transit as well as nearby dining options. I would absolutely stay here again.
Christine was really nice and very helpful; a delight! The apartment was pretty good, well equipped, with a nice touch that Christine had free snacks and drinks in the fridge for when I arrived. Location is a bit bleak - an area of car parks, with a service staion next door, that is in the first stages of gentrification, but it is really handy - a short walk to the the Red Line, and only one or two stops to the CBD, depending on where you're going.
I had a short stay, but Christine was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The apartment was great and offered much more than a hotel would. Great value for being within walking distance to the convention center!
Very good location and super easy, booked last minute and everything worked out fine.
On the day I arrived, Christine greeted me with a smile, coffee, juice, and muffins for the morning! She was very attentive when booking the apartment. Location was prime to the hotel that was hosting the conference. The apartment had all the amenities needed. All I had to do was hit the cute market nearby and pretty much cooked my meals. Be careful when using the oven though because the fire alarms are quite sensitive. On the cold nights, heat was very responsive. The wifi connection was solid. Tons of privacy. I didn't take the T during my stay, but it's only on block away if needed. It looks out on to construction, but I didn't select this place for the view. All in all, a great stay for a great price! Thanks Christine!
