This is a private 1 bedroom/bath apartment in South Boston located right accross from the Broadway T station on the Red line. 1 stop to South Station or 15 min walk to downtown via the harbor trail. It is located directly next door to the police station in a safe area of town.
Queen bed, linens, towels and light breakfast items provided. I live accross the street and am available for questions or problems.
"Once a predominantly Irish Catholic community, in recent years South Boston has become increasingly desirable among young professionals and families who are attracted to the neighborhood's strong sense of community and quick access to downtown and public transportation. People from all over the city enjoy taking a stroll around Castle Island, a Revolutionary War-era fort and 22-acre park that is connected to the mainland. "Southie Pride" is on full display in March when city residents flock to the neighborhood to enjoy the annual South Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade. Today the breathtaking South Boston Waterfront is emerging as Boston's newest neighborhood. Already home to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, planned development for the Waterfront includes residential, office, retail, and hotel use. The Institute for Contemporary Art, slated to open in September, stands as an iconic symbol of the South Boston Waterfront's unlimited potential." (City of Boston)
Sorry but no pets.
No smoking in the apartment.
Plenty of space, great food nearby (KO Pies is a must-try), easy access to the rest of Boston. This was my first Airbnb stay, and it was an excellent time!
Christine was excellent host. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Christine was a great host! She communicated in advance and met me when I arrived to show me around the place. The apartment met my expectations and was in a great location (safe, close to downtown and mass transit). The kitchen, bed, and bath were clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend her place!
Christine was very welcoming. Great location, near train station, and only a few min drive to the city. Very safe neighborhood (police station). Would def recommend to others and stay again.
Christine was very responsive and proactive in providing the information we needed for our reservation. She left us a great note with some recommendations for the area. As I just moved from Boston in the summer, I agreed with all of her recommendations and probably would have gone to those places if I wasn't in town for a baby shower! The apartment was very clean and put together. Christine also provided some toiletries, which was nice when I forgot my shampoo!
The apartment itself is in a great location in Southie. Only a couple of blocks from the red line of T with easy access to downtown, and close to some good restaurants and night life. It's also a very short walk to the South End, where there are even more good restaurants.
All in all, it was a positive experience and worked out really well for my short trip to Boston. Thanks, Christine!
This was my first time trying an AirBnB stay, and I would certainly do it again.
Conveniently-located, basic apartment. Christine was responsive to communication.
The apartment itself was satisfactory and clean, albeit old. Basic appliances, utensils, linens, etc. were present. The bed sags in the middle, but was otherwise okay. The toilet and shower were clean, and water-pressure was good. It is a ground-level unit, with other people living separately upstairs. The main door, as well as the apartment door, have knob-locks only (no dead-bolts or secondary locks).
I understand that the neighbourhood (South Boston) has a historically bad reputation. The area surrounding the apartment is run down, but seems to be gentrifying. The apartment is surrounded on each side by an active police/ambulance station, a gas station, a condominium construction site, and an empty lot. The main street to the north is Broadway, where a number of eateries, small shops, and public transit can be found.
Walking to the convention centre takes about 20 minutes. There are small groceries, and a large supermaket, within 10-20 minutes' walking distance. The subway (Broadway station) is less than 5 minutes' walk, which conveniently gets you to any part of the city.
There is also a Starbucks within 5 minutes.
Overall, I had a good stay.

I am a young working professional, I work in finance during the day and (email hidden) 3 nights a week. I probably won't be home much for someone staying with me but can give lots of suggestions for places to go. I have a 1 yr old pitbull named Bella who is a sweetheart!! She goes to doggy daycare and sleeps in my room. When I'm not working, I like to run and travel!
