The Space

A stylish and quiet apartment in central Kreuzberg on the ground floor in a quiet courtyard. The bathroom has been beautifully renovated and the kitchen and sleeping / living area has everything that you need for a comfortable lifestyle with a modern renovation of the whole apartment having been carried out within the last 2 years. A flat screen television, washing machine, wet room shower and wifi internet are some of the features of this apartment. The bed can be made up from a sofa in 3 minutes - believe us we have tested it!

Connections to public transport are plentiful. Hermannplatz, Schönleinstrasse and Südstern U-Bahn Stations are all a 6 minute walk away as is the beautiful canal - a favourite location for eating, walking and relaxing. Around the corner from the apartment are several options for eating including a fine dining restaurant and turkish and italian café style establishments - all much loved by guests! A supermarket is also 3 minutes away - open from 7am - 8pm Mon - Sat.

The area where the apartment is situated - Kreuzberg - is one of the most exciting and popular areas in Berlin to spend time. Restaurants of the most diverse and the second hand stores and boutique clothing shops are loved by visitors and locals alike.

We hope you enjoy your stay here!

PS We also have the same apartment with a bed and which is slightly larger here -

    Response from Julia:

Hi Stefano - I am not sure what you mean by "wet" and "cold" :-) The heating works really well and I do not think we have any leaks! Let me know more specifically what you mean and I will try and help...

  • We didn't meet Julia, her cleaning lady Ursula met me on arrival and let me in. She was very sweet but spoke only German, however Julia was always very quick at getting back to us. I was a little confused when an elderly German lady beckoned me though!

Studio is in a back courtyard, quiet and clean for a solo or a couple, everything was fine inside- all the things you'd need. To be honest in Berlin you wont be in that often anyway! The only thing we weren't 100% on was the bed covers- clean but very old so a little scratchy!

Other reviews have mentioned issues with shower and wi-fi but we had no issues at all with either of these.

Kreuzberg is a really awesome area to stay in- great bars, parks, lots of good but cheap food too. We had the advantage of knowing someone who stays there so we got a heads up on some places.

Easy links to 2 subway stations too. Great place to stay on a budget.

Thanks Fiona I will get onto the new linen situation!

  • We didn't get to meet Julia, but she arrange for her cleaning lady Ursula to meet us on our arrival and let us in the flat. We didn't get everything Ursula explained us as she was speaking German, but Julia was always very quick at getting back to any of our questions.

The flat is clean with all basic equipment/furniture and situated in an excellent location. Overall a great place to stay and of adequate price. We definitely recommend it!

    Thank you Julia :)

  • I enjoyed this apartment specifically for the location. I did not spend too much time in the apartment. The furnishings and the kitchen are very basic and the bed is a futon. If you are able to bring your own towel and pillow then do so, as the things we were provided were not very comfortable. We had some issues with the shower clogging, so we were only able to take short showers. I wrote Julia about the flooding issue during our stay, but she did not get back to me. Overall a great place to stay if you're on a budget. The neighborhood has great restaurants, the canal is nearby and there are a couple of markets right out the door. I would say here again.

    Response from Julia:

Hi Alycia - I am sorry you didn't get through to me. I have noticed on Airbnb that some messages do not come through and this has been a problem. I am sorry for your trouble....

  • We were very happy with the flexibility of check in and out times, Julia was fantastic at keeping in contact and ensuring we had the contact information for the lovely Ella who was meeting us there. The apartment had everything we needed and was in a lovely, tree lined neighbourhood. Great Gelato around the corner.

  • Super logement dans un quartier parfait pour sortir, boire des verres et se balader. Super organisation avec Julia qui nous a très bien accueilli.

  • Very calm and clean apartment in an excellent location (direct bus from Schönefeld airport, great neighbourhood and close to city centre)! The furniture and equipment are basic, but absolutely adequate for the price. Also Julia is very reliable and quick in responding to your questions. We would book it again!

  • Great little pad in a great part of town. There's everything you need and your a short stroll from the 'happening' part of town. My stay was all to short, but nonetheless sweet. Thanks again :)

  • Kreuzberg is a really nice place to stay !
    Thanks Julia !

  • Julia was out of the city, however we were welcomed by her delightfully neighbour Ursula. She has polish roots, so there was no problem with communication.

Day before and after our visit there were no other guests planned, so we could check in very early and check out afternoon. That put us in a comfortable situation, because we could get a nap after all night trip and on day leaving we left some luggages in the apartment.

Location is great. Get a beer or couple, go by the canal and enjoy the city. If you are coming on a weekend be informed, that on Sundays all markets, rent bike points etc. are closed.

Flat is really small, however it has everything you need for a short budget trip. Kitchen is well equiped (but we did not use it, we ate only at the Master Burger ;) ). Bathroom is fine, we had only problems with the water temperature - it was too hot or too cold :)
I found some complains in comments regarding bed, but that was okay for me, since I spent last few years on the same one in my parents` house.

Summing up - thanks Julia fo a great stay. It was a pleasure to feel like Berlin citizens just for a week. We did not expect luxuries and the money/quality value was perfect. We do recommend this place!

Hi there! I'm originally from the beautiful garden of England (to be precise, a county called Kent) but have long since wandered far and wide from the British nest after finishing my veterinary BVSc in 2007.... ....after living and working in Nice, Shanghai, Hawaii and other such fascinating destinations (working with start ups and blossoming companies), I stumbled accidentally across Germany's glorious capital city. I knew then that nowhere on earth could beat this city's electric vibe...and so here I have stayed! I am sure you will love Berlin and the district of Friedrichshain where my apartment is. Viel spaß!!!
