This is a private room with a queen bed in the hip, bohemian enclave of the East Village. An awesome location for exploring the city, NYC's best restaurants & bars, live-music and seeing how NYer's live.
Best for budget travelers and who do not need luxuries, just a place to sleep and keep things. It is in a three bedroom BASEMENT apartment with shared bathroom & kitchen. At the moment, two of the three rooms are travelers.
Ask me any questions you may have and read some of the reviews. Hundreds of guests have enjoyed NYC from this humble abode, and I have made it quite comfy. The apartment renovations are old and a bit run-down. For travelers wanting to be in an awesome neighborhood for an affordable price, this is one of the best options out there.

Epitomizing shabby-chic, Alphabet City is a hip, bohemian enclave inside the East Village. Starving artists once considered this neighborhood their home, and the creative culture they established still shows through in the colorful murals and cool spaces that crowd its streets. Alphabet City has steadily evolved since the early 20th century, and it now overflows with trendy bars and stylish restaurants.
Best thing about living here is you can walk everywhere!
There is a bus stop and Citi Bike station right around the corner. 5 different subway stations in the neighborhood. Within 15-30 minutes you can walk to Soho, South Street Seaport, Brooklyn Bridge, and LES, Chinatown/Little Italy.
Other Things to Note
Be flexible. Generally between 10am-10pm. We will coordinate around both of our schedules. If you arrive the day a guest is leaving you may need to wait until the evening for the room to be ready.
Quiet Hours: 10pm-10am
Please be respectful of other people in the apartment. Most travelers are out all day and only sleep at the apartment, but others have work to do in the city.
* Minimum 2 nights unless there is just one available, check back a week before
Make yourself at home.
Come home whenever you want, just be respectful of quiet hours.
Feel free to use the kitchen but please clean up after yourself.
Do not bring strangers back to the apartment. It is for guests only.
Do not smoke inside the apartment. Please smoke outside of the building.
Do not make loud noise when outside in the courtyard as voices echo and can cause complaints from neighbors.
Edward was a very attentive host and always willing to answer any questions. The room is as described - basic. But its perfect for an inexpensive place to stay. Great location with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and only a few blocks from the subway.
Edward was very attentive and responded to our every need and request. We stayed with other Air BnBers and it was such a pleasant experience to mix with other travelers and share our tips, stories, and to also bond over our common experience.
