About This Listing
Charming little apartment in 15th century building situated in the historical center of Arezzo. Private entrance, small garden, living room with kitchen area, two bedrooms, one bathroom. Beautifully decorated and furnished
Cozy apartment in a historical building (15th century) in the center of Arezzo: entrance with private garden, living room with open kitchen, one double bedroom, one small single bedroom, bathroom with shower, wi-fi, TV, Stereo.
Location is very central: 100 meters from Piazza San Francesco (the center of life and culture in town, with many bars and restaurants) and an easy 10 minutes walk form the train and bus station, so it's a perfect starting point for visits to Florence (30 min by train), Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Chianti region, Val d’Orcia and many other destinations in the south of Tuscany and Umbria.
Access by car is only allowed during certain hours of the day: Car access is NOT allowed from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There are many parking lots, both free and guarded. I suggest the free parking lot in Via Giuseppe Pietri, it’s located just outside the walls, an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk from my apartment
You will be greated with a bottle of wine, Tuscan cookies, free Nespresso coffee and Frette towels and bed linen, and if you like music you might even enjoy playing my electric piano.
I use this apartment sporadically, mostly on the weekends, because I work far from Arezzo. There is stuff inside that shows that I live there, (some clothing, a few guitars, wine, etc), but of course you'll have the apartment all for yourself.
Just one caveat for people who need lots of light: this is an ancient building the windows are not very large, so don't expect a lot of light inside. Besides, the main bedroom and the bathroom don't have windows, but air circulation is not a problem since there is a powerful fan that sucks in fresh air from the outside. The fan is hidden, can be switched on and off as needed and its speed is adjustable, so the noise is not a problem.
On the positive side, the inside of the apartment it's always quite cool, even in summer, so there is absolutely no need for air conditioning.
Flat screen TV, wi-fi, high-end stereo system, nespresso machine, electric piano

Everything better than described. The location could not be beat--three minutes and you can be standing in front of frescoes by Piero della Francesca (or, during my visit, a traveling Andy Warhol exhibit!). The best of Arezzo is immediately around Andrea's apartment, which is itself beautiful, modern amenities in a Renaissance building. The exterior walls are three feet thick! Everything you might need for a visit is there.
And Andrea provided foolproof directions to his place (simple) and pages of helpful notes to clarify anything that might be an issue. Cafes, restaurants, stores, a supermarket, everything close by.
Totally quiet. Andrea was very friendly, quick to respond to questions, and accommodated my train time.
An all around good experience.
Even though Andrea wasn't in Arezzo, we met his lovely mother and Leni, who were both helpful and friendly. Andrea was available by cell and responded quickly. The apartment is a little jewel located in a secret garden. We loved Arezzo and saw every church and museum imaginable! Everything one needs is here and we would love to return. Thank you, Andrea
The description in the listing is thorough and accurate. Andrea is a gracios host with a comfortable lovely apartment. He responded quickly and attentively to emails (I sent a lot!) both before and during our stay. The location within this lively small city center was outstanding and the highlight of my first trip to Italy. I rented a car in order to have some freedom to see more of Tuscany. Parking the rental car required a search for a free space and 10-15 minute walk outside of the medieval city wall. That was never a big problem, though. I would be thrilled to return for a second stay at Andrea's apartment.
Dear Mary you are definitely right, in old houses like mine on the ground floor having a little mold is almost inevitable, I just wanted to mention that after you left I had the apartment deeply cleaned and disinfected, i hope this this will solve any mold problems for a while
Andrea's home in Arezzo was the perfect pitstop on our adventure through tuscany! It was clean and comfortable and centrally located. Andrea is also very quick to respond to any inquiries you may have which is very helpful. I suggest going when the antique market is in town it was fantastic!

About the Host, Andrea
I'm an electronic engineer and software consultant (specialized in Business Intelligence).
My work is currently mainly in Milan, so I decided to list my Arezzo apartment on Airbnb, since I don't need it for myself.
The other apartment listed (villa on the beach) is also in Tuscany, near Donoratico / Castagneto Carducci.
In my spare time I like to play soccer and tennis, ride my motorbike and play guitar.
