About this listing
Charming little apartment in 15th century building situated in the historical center of Arezzo. Private entrance, small garden, living room with kitchen area, two bedrooms, one bathroom. Beautifully decorated and furnished
Cozy apartment in a historical building (15th century) in the center of Arezzo: entrance with private garden, living room with open kitchen, one double bedroom, one small single bedroom, bathroom with shower, wi-fi, TV, Stereo.
Location is very central: 100 meters from Piazza San Francesco (the center of life and culture in town, with many bars and restaurants) and an easy 10 minutes walk form the train and bus station, so it's a perfect starting point for visits to Florence (30 min by train), Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Chianti region, Val d’Orcia and many other destinations in the south of Tuscany and Umbria.
Access by car is only allowed during certain hours of the day: Car access is NOT allowed from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There are many parking lots, both free and guarded. I suggest the free parking lot in Via Giuseppe Pietri, it’s located just outside the walls, an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk from my apartment
You will be greated with a bottle of wine, Tuscan cookies, free Nespresso coffee and Frette towels and bed linen, and if you like music you might even enjoy playing my electric piano.
I use this apartment sporadically, mostly on the weekends, because I work far from Arezzo. There is stuff inside that shows that I live there, (some clothing, a few guitars, wine, etc), but of course you'll have the apartment all for yourself.
Just one caveat for people who need lots of light: this is an ancient building the windows are not very large, so don't expect a lot of light inside. Besides, the main bedroom and the bathroom don't have windows, but air circulation is not a problem since there is a powerful fan that sucks in fresh air from the outside. The fan is hidden, can be switched on and off as needed and its speed is adjustable, so the noise is not a problem.
On the positive side, the inside of the apartment it's always quite cool, even in summer, so there is absolutely no need for air conditioning.
Flat screen TV, wi-fi, high-end stereo system, nespresso machine, electric piano
Interaction with Guests
I'm not usually in Arezzo because I work in Milan, but my mother lives in the same building
No smoking inside the apartment, please.
Guests are not allowed to bring other people inside the apartment.
In general, check-in and check-out times are very flexible, unless there are other guests arriving or leaving on the same day.
If you have any questions, please ask and I'll be happy to answer.
Andrea was a very considerate host. He was very communicative before our arrival, with very good instructions on how to get there and helpful hints on how to organise public transport from the airport. We arrived late at night and it was nice to have some milk in the fridge for a cup of tea and there was even a welcome bottle of wine, which was very thoughtful. The flat is obviously his home, with his belongings there, but we felt very welcome and there was loads of room to spread out. It was also incredibly central and very convenient. Thank you you so much for making it so easy for us.
The apartment is in a great location - very handy for the historic centre of the town.
The flat is right in the historic centre, but it was straight forward to get to thanks to the detailed instructions from Andrea. Very well equiped flat and kitchen. Andrea's staff is also in the flat because he lives there from time to time, which was a bit strange. It is located in the ground floor with no windows in the bedroom. The private garden is great!
Thanks for this lovely place. Very charming and close to everything !
Bed was soooo great, and the home is very fresh (nice when it's been 35 degres outside !)
Lot of goods informations and tips.
Great moment !!
What a wonderful stay! The apartment is very charming and Andrea was very helpful in making the check-in arrangements. There is also everything you might need from espresso to toiletries. One thing that is not listed, but that I especially appreciated during the very hot weather is the comfortably cool temperature of this apartment. It is also set back from the street so it is very quiet. This stay completely exceeded expectations.
Everything better than described. The location could not be beat--three minutes and you can be standing in front of frescoes by Piero della Francesca (or, during my visit, a traveling Andy Warhol exhibit!). The best of Arezzo is immediately around Andrea's apartment, which is itself beautiful, modern amenities in a Renaissance building. The exterior walls are three feet thick! Everything you might need for a visit is there.
And Andrea provided foolproof directions to his place (simple) and pages of helpful notes to clarify anything that might be an issue. Cafes, restaurants, stores, a supermarket, everything close by.
Totally quiet. Andrea was very friendly, quick to respond to questions, and accommodated my train time.
An all around good experience.
Even though Andrea wasn't in Arezzo, we met his lovely mother and Leni, who were both helpful and friendly. Andrea was available by cell and responded quickly. The apartment is a little jewel located in a secret garden. We loved Arezzo and saw every church and museum imaginable! Everything one needs is here and we would love to return. Thank you, Andrea

About the Host, Andrea
I'm an electronic engineer and software consultant (specialized in Business Intelligence).
My work is currently mainly in Milan, so I decided to list my Arezzo apartment on Airbnb, since I don't need it for myself.
The other apartment listed (villa on the beach) is also in Tuscany, near Donoratico / Castagneto Carducci.
In my spare time I like to play soccer and tennis, ride my motorbike and play guitar.
