Cozy apartment in a historical building (15th century) in the center of Arezzo: entrance with private garden, living room with open kitchen, one double bedroom, one small single bedroom, bathroom with shower, wi-fi, TV, Stereo.
Location is very central: 100 meters from Piazza San Francesco (the center of life and culture in town, with many bars and restaurants) and an easy 10 minutes walk form the train and bus station, so it's a perfect starting point for visits to Florence (30 min by train), Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Chianti region, Val d’Orcia and many other destinations in the south of Tuscany and Umbria.
Access by car is only allowed during certain hours of the day: Car access is NOT allowed from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
and from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There are many parking lots, both free and guarded. I suggest the free parking lot in Via Giuseppe Pietri, it’s located just outside the walls, an easy and pleasant 10 minute walk from my apartment
You will be greated with a bottle of wine, Tuscan cookies, free Nespresso coffee and Frette towels and bed linen, and if you like music you might even enjoy playing my electric piano.
I use this apartment sporadically, mostly on the weekends, because I work far from Arezzo. There is stuff inside that shows that I live there, (some clothing, a few guitars, wine, etc), but of course you'll have the apartment all for yourself.
Just one caveat for people who need lots of light: this is an ancient building the windows are not very large, so don't expect a lot of light inside. Besides, the main bedroom and the bathroom don't have windows, but air circulation is not a problem since there is a powerful fan that sucks in fresh air from the outside. The fan is hidden, can be switched on and off as needed and its speed is adjustable, so the noise is not a problem.
On the positive side, the inside of the apartment it's always quite cool, even in summer, so there is absolutely no need for air conditioning.
I'm not usually in Arezzo because I work in Milan, but my mother lives in the same building
We stayed in Andrea's house for a weekend and we're very happy with our selection. Andrea responded to all our questions promptly and provided lots of information. His mother was friendly in setting us up once we reached the house. The house is very central, comfortable and quiet spacious. The only negative aspects are the lack of sunlight and the need to know how to turn the heaters on for the colder months. We would recommend this without hesitation.
The location was great! A 2 minute walk to the church of San Francesco and a 5 minute walk to the Cattedrale. The kitchen's appliances all functioned well and we were able to cook a few meals and enjoy the fine wines that we had purchased close by. Sadly, this is a ground floor/ basement apartment. It does not have windows in the bedroom and the fan did not function. As a result, the apartment, and especially the bedroom, had a constant smell of dampness. Although the cleaning person was there when we arrived and had cleaned the apartment well, she did not notice - and who would expect it anyway - that one of the previous renters had stuffed the freezer part of the fridge full of garbage, that we had to extract and throw out, in order to be able to use the freezer ourselves.
We had a fantastic time staying in Andrea's apartment in Arezzo. It was the perfect base for our time in Tuscany. The apartment was comfortable and cool - a nice escape from the heat of the day! The bottle of wine and Tuscan biscuits were a welcoming touch. It was also perfectly located, close to the main sites of Arezzo, restaurants and the train station. Andrea and his mother were wonderful - particularly as we arrived later than expected; they were helpful arranging to leave a key where we could find it. The instructions for locating the apartment were perfect. If we are ever in Arezzo again, we would love to stay again. Thank you Andrea - it was a pleasure.
Andrea's home is placed in the center of Arezzo, close to everything one might want to see in this beautiful medieval town. We were worried about the parking but with his help we found a parking lot just outside the town linked to an electric stairway which brings you into the center in 5 minutes - very convenient. We only spoke with Andrea on the phone, but his mother assisted us and she was extremely nice and helpful! The house is big (perfect for a couple with a child), very homey and it even has a nice flower garden. We did feel a little strange because the bedroom has no windows and it's hard to tell when morning comes. Also, be aware the check-out time is 10 a.m., we missed this info in the info package we found in the house and we were late. But the overall experience was good. We also loved the Nespresso cofee Andrea left in the kitchen for his guests.!
Thanks Cristina for your kind words. Just one little note: in general guest can stay longer on the date of their departure, but in some cases (like it happened this time), when there are other guests coming on the same day, I need to have the apartment free by around 10:30, to allow time for cleaning
Andrea's apartment was everything it was advertised. Centrally located in the old part of the city, well appointed, and very comfortable bed. The bottle of wine (which we didn't use) was a nice touch. Also internet. The Grand Piazza is only blocks and the Piazza around the corner has everything one needs. We were very happy with our 3 day stay here. We parked the car and enjoyed the city. Parking requires a ten minute walk, but Andrea gave great instructions and it was easy.
Andrea was not in Arezzo during our stay but was very kind prior our arrival. We met his lovely mother instead.
We know Arezzo like the palm of our hand and we were looking for a nice & central place to stay while visiting relatives in the area.
We totally agree with previous comments concerning cute apartment, great location, nice kitchen,....Overall it met our expectations.
It was an excellent living experience in Andrea's apartment. Andrea was very responsive for each request to make you feel comfortable for the whole trip in Arezzo. The information Andrea prepared for us was super!
Andrea's apartment is, not like most of other vacation apartments, just like your friend let you stay in his home and enjoy all the facilities there. The fully equipped kitchen let us to enjoy cooking and tasted Toscana foods in the apartment. We stayed in the apartment for five days and have great memory in Arezzo and surrounding towns. Thanks Andrea for the complimentary wine. We liked the white wine from Orvieto.
It should be the best choice to stay in Andrea's apartment while visiting this region.
Very conveniently located in the beautiful town Arezzo, the apartment seems to be just a few steps from everything in town! Andrea is always very responsive to our questions, and went into details to prepare a 'handbook' for all info we need staying in his home and Arezzo. Unlike other apartments at Airbnb, you can see Andrea's traces everywhere in the house, making it an even more interesting experience. Andrea's mom lives upstairs from the apartment, though she speaks little English, but made a great effort to attend to our every needs.
And nothing can beat the little garden outside of the house! We had a great time having Italian wines and snacks in the little garden during our stay - a great way to spend an evening in Arezzo if you prefer to stay in instead of always hanging in restaurants just for some wine.
With such a great central location, Andrea's B&B was perfect for our 2 night stay in Arezzo. With a lovely bottle of wine on arrival, we were made to feel very welcome. The little cat is very sweet we met his very lovely mother on our last day who was extremely kind and accommodating. The only thing I'd say is that the bedroom is pitch black in the mornings as there are no windows which I struggled with but this is a great thing if you need to catch up on sleep.
