I have a friendly clean home to share with nice, respectful travelers and ensure satisfied positive experiences. I am looking for guests who demonstrate they read my description and approaches me before booking. I will respond quickly within an hour!
Quick Announcement: special weekly price in January is for the top bunk.
I've set up a seriously minimal sleeping area enclosed with curtains in my living room to accommodate two individuals sharing a bunk bed, with a walkway only to get in and out, store your clothes, a few personal items and your small pieces of luggage (no space for large luggage’s). This reservation is for the bottom bunk. This set up is suitable most for travelers just looking for a place to sleep at night.
The living room does not sleep other guests, but the apartment does, mostly occupying up to 5 guests between two private bedrooms, rarely 6. I provide free sleeping aids (ear plugs and eye masks) to avoid sleeping distractions like living room lighting and hearing other people's footsteps since there are no walls. If you do not use the sleeping aids, you chance being disturbed while you sleep.
You will be in a clean home, clean sleeping area, clean bathroom and clean kitchen. It is expected that guests maintain areas clean after usage since you find areas clean. My home is far from fancy in an old building built in the early 1900's, and if its okay with you, I am confident I can offer a stay you would be likely to repeat a visit.
You will have your own keys to the apartment, a welcome package of essential items (toothpaste, soap, deodorant and more) and access to other general items like umbrella’s and iron+board, hand sanitizer, and more.
In the kitchen, you will have a small dedicated Refrigerator space, readily filtered water (you may fill up to take water with you during the day. You also have access to the stove top, microwave, toaster oven, juicer, blender, pots/pans, 2 types of coffee makers, coffee, a variety of tea’s, over 30 herbs and spices, cereal (you purchase the milk since it is perishable), and much more. Quick fix items and light cooking are okay.
In the bathroom, you may find additional items like shampoo, mouthwash, q-tips, nail polish remover, sun block and much more.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the apartment and I’m always up for a chat. If you want personal space for yourself, that’s cool with me as long as I don’t feel awkward in my own home (like walking by and not say at least hello)
The people. I love that I can enjoy an urban environment and be safe at the same time. This neighborhood is mostly populated with people from a small country that everyone knows at least one person from: The Dominican Republic. Born and raised here in Manhattan, you get the hybrid of a busy urban pace with countryside hospitality when approached.
Also, being located in Manhattan, you get the feel of the city that never sleeps, frequent and multiple transportation options 24 hours a day very very nearby, shops open late, a variety of restaurants with delicious foods at a better price, supermarkets, pharmacies, .99 cent stores, everything you need at the touch of your fingers
The entrance of my building is 10 meters from the commercial street, 90 meters from the metro station, and everything in the distance… It’s great to be located here!
I am located in Manhattan, the northern part of the island, between both of Manhattan's major different train lines. Either train will get you to the city center (Times Square), in 35 minutes. You can plan better routes to get to or arrive home from places quicker since you have two options. Two trains on different train lines are a plus in case one goes through construction that requires an alternate route, could be a pain, but not here!
I live only one small block away from the subway (90 meters or one and a half minute walk). This is super convenient, especially returning home after a long day. The other train line is just 3 blocks away. The average wait time for a train here is 4 minutes.
Other Things to Note
Check-in is by appointment only: BETWEEN 3PM-MIDNIGHT. (Flexible times before or after are possible for a small accommodation fee)
If you are late more than one hour without legitimate communication, there will be a fee of $10 for each hour you complete.
CHECK-OUT is before 11AM (Flexible requests are possible for a small accommodation fee)
-The apartment is drug-free, smoke-free 24 hours a day
-No visitor entry at any time.
-Check the common areas after each use to make sure its left clean the way you found it. (example: picking up hair on the shower drain, cleaning toothpaste that was dropped on the sink, crumbs in the toaster/microwave, etc..)
-Be considerate with time in the bathroom as others may be waiting
I expended 4 days in Chris's house and the experience was excellent. The place is clean and comfortable. It is in a very good location with two lines of subway very close. Moreover, Chris is a very nice and helpful person that is going to give you good advices in case that you don't know about the city. I am sure that in case to go back to the city I would repeat there. :-)
Chris was a very nice host. We stayed for 4 nights and felt like at home. He was always there when we needed something. The most important thing is that his home was very clean. Even though it was a little bit small, it was enough for us. I hope we can meet again. Thank you so much for everything!
Chris' place was just what I needed when I first arrived in NYC. Close to the train (3 min walk), close to great food. Chris is super helpful for getting to know the area, and I found the other people living there really friendly. I'm very appreciative of Chris' hospitality, thank you.
Its a good place to stay when u are in NYC.And Chris is very nice .i love to be back next time.
I was traveling from Venezuela, and i have to say that i really enjoined my stay here, chris will make you fell that you are staying at your own home, the place is clean and you can use the kitchen and the refrigerator to cook and store food, the bathroom have cold and hot water and is always clean, you can also have wifi, there is a laptop, a printer and a 32" TV with HD Channels, the apt. Is one block to 1 subway station y 3 blocks to the A stations so its a good spot, Chris is very flexible with check-in and check-out times and he is always glad to help you when you need it. I will stay here on my next trip, no doubt! Thanks Chris!
If you want a good place to stay in NY for a good price this is recommended. It is not a very luxurious place, but then again the price is as cheap as it gets in NY. The place is clean, Chris is very kind and the communication before arriving and during the stay was excellent. The bathroom is clean and the bed is good. The bed is enclosed with a curtain. You don't have a room for your own, but you will have enough privacy. The connection to NY city is very good. The subway is 5 minutes walk away and it will take you to time square in about 40 min. In summary it is a good place to stay for a really good price.

I'm very friendly and love to travel. I just learned about airbnb, so I missed lots of opportunities on using it when I traveled frequently, but I want to provide this accommodation to others as I would have wanted as a traveler.
