LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!
LIVE LIKE A NEW YORKER!
NOTE: More than 4 people will be rather tight. it will involve squeezing in air beds!
This is a PRIVATE studio apartment on 2nd Ave and 76th St. This location I top notch! It's right in the heart of Manhattans Upper East Side. The apartment itself is clean and basic. It has a double bed and a double sofa bed, air conditioned, linens, dishes, pots, pans, refrigerator, microwave, oven/cooking stove, wifi, NO TV though.
It's close to the museums, Central Park, famous shops, and metro/subway which are all within 5-10 minute walks. Tons of reasonably priced bars and restaurants around with lots of diverse choice.
I should add that the apartment is 3 flights up and there is no elevator. The apartment is probably most well suited for up to 4 people, either a family or 2 couples who really just want a simple, clean, affordable place in an AWESOME location. I have always been a budget minded traveler and I really strive to make the place affordable so budget minded travelers can see this great city and get to stay in a really TOP LOCATION for a reasonable price. I can also provide you with an extra air matress if needed.
And whether you stay in the apartment or not...enjoy the energy that is NYC!
UPDATE: I really appreciate the positive feedback. Reading most of my reviews one will notice some common themes, namely:
That pretty much describes the place. It's no frills! My goal is to provide a clean apartment in a TOP location. For a group of 4-6 people, that means you get your own apartment in one of the best NYC neighborhoods for the price of a hostel in Brooklyn. Its for this reason I try to keep the costs down so I can keep the cost low for the guests.
My MAIN priority is really cleanliness, and my cleaning lady does a VERY thorough job.
All kinds of goods and services are very expensive in NYC. Its for this reason I ask that people not use the extra linens as this messes up my cleaning lady's karma and adds to the expense.

This was exactly what we needed for our trip to NYC. Me and my four friends from college met up in NYC for a little girls trip reunion. The apartment was the perfect size. We occupied both beds and an air mattress and still had room for all of our luggage. It was super close to the metro station and lots of food/shopping close by walking. We would definitely rent from David again!
David's apartment was simple and clean. It does get a little bit tight with more than 4 people in there due to the air bed, but this was mentioned in the listing. If you have a company of more than 4 with lots of bags, it will get tight. Otherwise, it's conveniently located close to the subway and shops, and the sports bar downstairs was good too.
David was very helpful with any queries and to make our stay comfortable. The room was quite cold, even with the heater on but when I informed David he came by to remove the A/C as it was letting in very cold air from outside. We were there on one of the coldest day/night in 10 years which probably explained why it was really cold in the room as the windows were quite thin as well. If you're staying here during the winter, just make sure you sleep with warm clothes!
Everything else in the apartment was fine.
Our stay in David's overall a positive one. Although the place was a little small for 6 people (he did warn us beforehand), but the location was great! It was just 2 streets away from the subway and relatively close to Times Square, Grand central station, central park, etc! The subway also goes straight to Chinatown! There was also a kitchen, microwave and fridge available if you would like to cook during your stay. Lastly, David was nice to accommodate my change in schedule when I was unable to reach on the first day. Thank you David :)
David & the Studio were great! I, on the other hand, was a pain in the neck by not bringing the copies of the instructions on how to enter with me. David was wonderful and talked me through it over the phone. My niece and I loved the neighborhood. Starbucks right across the street, which this country girl appreciated. ;) There are lots of fun shops and places to eat. If you are a light sleeper, bring your ear plugs, there is a bar downstairs. Taxis were right out front within a few min. always and the subway was just a few short blocks. My recommendations: Stop in the Housing Works Thrift Shop on the way to the subway. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi/massage at Rose's Nails & Spa one block up from the Studio on 2nd. & have fun, NYC is must for everyone's list.
Basic, basic indeed. If you are adverse to stairs or futon like beds, probably not for you. BUT, the price is right, very close to subway, clean, good markets in the neighborhood!
I had a superb two days and nights in NYC and the accomodation was part of the very positive experience. Compact, clean, convenient and very accessible. Grocery almost next door made things very easy to get and the local restaurants were plentiful and the one I tried provided excellent food. The apartment had all one could need and as others have said it is so convenient to the Subway and Central Park, I would certainly stay again. Thank you David
Exactly as described: clean, neat, great location, no extras.
we could get everywhere by foot or subway super easy. Grocery store right on the block as well as tons of great coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants. Would definitely do again.
Apartment is okay. Walking distance to Time Square. Stayed overnight only. Nothing much to stay. We just slept and left early in the morning.
