  • We had a great time staying in Ginger's casita. It has everything you need including plenty of thoughtful snacks.
The property is beautiful & we wish we could have explored it more. Highly recommend having breakfast on the deck in the morning - so peaceful!
Ginger was a lovely, helpful host who gave us excellent advice on what to see & do in Yosemite.

  • We had a magical weekend at Ginger and Michael's little casita. It was a charming home with plenty of room and cooking utensils. We especially enjoyed mornings on the deck watching the horses in the pasture and the local wild life all around. Ginger and Michael were lovely hosts. They were so welcoming - showed us the map for Yosemite with a bunch of tips on where to stop, let us feed the horses and even have us snacks for our long drive home. We couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be back!!

  • Beautiful view, lovely little house - we had a wonderful stay.

    March 2014
  • We had a wonderful stay, found everything we were looking for. Peace, nature, quiet, and a comfortable bed. Ginger and Michael were lovely hosts and were there when we needed them. Was a little far from Yosemite Valley, but well worth the trip and we'd stay here again over the more touristy/expensive places further in. Ideally located to get to Mariposa Grove and Wawona Valley.

  • Ginger was a wonderful host on an amazing property! Would love to stay there again in the near future. A perfect get away from the bay area to experience the majestic Yosemite.

  • This is a wonderful little standalone house overlooking a horse pasture. The structure itself is a renovated workshop with wonderful amounts of natural lighting and great heating (which we needed at night). The kitchen is pretty well-stocked, and there's plenty of counter space for preparing meals.

The location is perfect for driving up into the southern part of Yosemite for the day. We had always entered Yosemite from the west, so we wanted to explore the southern route a bit. Mariposa and Chilnualna Falls are less than an hour's drive from the Casita - highly recommended visits if you've never been.

By far the best part of this Airbnb is Ginger, who, as other reviewers have noted, takes her role as Airbnb host pretty seriously. She immensely enjoys having guests over for coffee and conversation, and really gives you a sense of the history of the property and the surrounding area. She's also very familiar with Yosemite and can give you great recommendations for hikes.

Most of the Airbnbs I've been to feel like paying to couchsurf, but with Ginger, you feel like you're visiting family. All in all, a highly recommended destination for a weekend

  • Enjoyable stay, comfortable and quiet. Ginger was an excellent host. The Wi-Fi was better than home. A bit of a drive to Yosemite Valley. Well worth the stay...Thanks again...Beautiful country..

  • I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a trip to Yosemite for his birthday. I was so nervous about trying to find the right place that I was still researching 2 days before the date we actually wanted to arrive. THANK YOU GINGER for coming through in the end. Not only was booking as easy as clicking a button, literally. The place was beyond words.

Right as we pulled onto the property a one antlered deer sauntered by us. If you like birding, which really how could you not!? this is the place to be!! Tons of trees yet there's a fantastic view of the sunrise off the front deck - heck, you could watch it from the bed because there are French doors that open up to the deck outside. !!

I did get lucky with the weather. It was a gorgeous 70-80 degrees in the middle of January, which made Yosemite absolutely spectacular. Ginger provided maps and tons of information about things to do in the park and surrounding area, but I have to say my boyfriend and I had just as good a time at the casita as we did hiking through Yosemite.

Ginger is everything she says in her profile. Warm - hearted, funny, sincere, easy going and simply put a beautiful person who everyone should meet.

If you are in the area - it really doesn't get any better than this. I know I will be back again soon.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here on a trip to Yosemite. Ginger has a fantastic Casita with a lot of charm and privacy. The Casita was larger than we expected, clean, and had all the amenities we needed, including kitchenware to cook some meals. The Casita is about 35 minutes or so to the southern entrance at Yosemite (Mariposa Grove, Wowona Lodge, etc.). While we were not at Yosemite, we thoroughly enjoyed some peaceful relaxation at Ginger's Casita. We would definitely stay here again for future Yosemite adventures.

About
i am a native Californian and retired grandmother formerly from Santa Barbara, San Diego, and the Bay Area, I have been living in the beautiful Sierra foothills for over 12 years now. Having been self-employed most of my life in various businesses, including publishing, graphic arts, and real estate, my true love is music and I have had my own rock 'n roll bands (many years ago, sigh). I now enjoy hosting all the wonderful and interesting travelers/adventurers who book their stays with me. It is my dream to go to Europe for 2-3 weeks later in 2014, and stay in Airbnb places and revisit some of the really cool guests who have stayed with me :-} My home is convenient to Hwy. 41, and just 5 miles from a large casino that has great all-you-can-eat buffets and some specialty restaurants, yet it is peaceful and quiet here. This location is approx. 30 miles from the Yosemite Nat'l. Park gate, 30 miles to Fresno, and 25 miles to Bass Lake. I am friendly, young at heart, quiet, love animals, most non overly opinionated people, and enjoy growing plants and trees. I really enjoy meeting, chatting, and hosting new people of all ages and countries. In my spare time I love to read - mostly magazines like the Smithsonian, Discover, Wired, and various art magazines. Once read, these magazines are put in the rooms for visitors. And last, I love watching the amazing advances of technology, robotics, artificial or accelerated intelligence, and even at my age, I still love rock 'n roll, Santana, Elton, Whitney Houston, Bonny Raitt, Rolling Stones, Journey, Foreigner, etc, altho I don't play it loudly, don't worry :-) I sincerely look forward to meeting you!
