Interaction with Guests
It's really up to the plans of the guests. If you hang around we interact. If you have a busy schedule we just see each other in passing. No problem come and go when you like. No restriction or rules for that stuff.
The people here are very progressive and love to tell you about the Seward neighborhood and all it has to offer. The Mississippi River is nearby to explore the only area where it flows through a limestone gorge. Hardly know you are in the city. Also Seward's unique historic "Milwaukee Avenue" neighborhood with restored city blocks, sans cars, of 19th century factory worker homes. This is a great neighborhood with many flower gardens to stroll through on the way to the stores or restaurants that are a walking distance away. Easy public transportation access to all parts of Mpls and St Paul.
There is a light rail station a ten minute walk from the house that connects you to the Mall of America, MSP Int'l Airport, Downtown Mpls and St Paul, The Capitol and the Twins, Vikings, Lynx, Timberwolves and Wild professional team stadiums. Also the commuter train that goes to Fridley, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Elk River and Big Lake to the north. And everything in between...
Best bikeways system in the US, that starts next to the house and bike rentals available nearby. City transit system of buses has 5+ routes going by the house in every direction.
No smoking, shoes off in house!, no loud music, respect sleeping hours, no synthetic perfumes.
The bed was fine. The wifi was weak. But let's talk about the bathroom facilities... The shower seemed questionably up to building code. The toilet is essentially out in the open separated only by a little partition. And the sink is just the basement slop sink.
I really wanted to like this place. It seemed like it would be charming and fun. But the bathroom situation felt a bit deceptive and that really ruined the experience for me. (I notice now that there aren't any pictures posted of the bathroom. And the reason is obvious.) The place overall is passable if you're on a tight budget.
Greg was a great host. He briefly explained us the house and was friendly. I would recommend everyone.
My boyfriend and I stayed at greg and Lucy's house for four nights. The room is clean, you get a private bathroom, it has air conditioning in case you need it and we were provided of towels, soap, shampoo and maps of the city. The way they have decorate the house makes you feel like you really are in a "finca". They are growing different fruits and vegetables . Greg gave us some of the strawberries from the backyard. They were so delicious!
The location is ideal, well connected for public transit or to arrive driving. Close to downtown Minneapolis and the airport. For the price is a great place to stay.
We were on a tight schedule so we didn't have a lot of time to interact with greg and Lucy, but the times we did they were really kind and willing to help us with everything. They mention us how to arrive to different places, like farmers markets, coops and Cuban concerts :)
I would definitely recommend to stay here if you are traveling to Minneapolis.
Greg was very welcoming and easygoing. The back porch and yard are beautiful, wish I had time to hang out there more. Great neighborhood with bike share and food nearby.
This was our first time using Airbnb and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Unfortunately Greg and Lucy were out of town during our stay, but they were still able to accommodate us easily. The bedroom, bathroom, and shower are located in the basement, so you're able to have your own space separate from the rest of the house. The room was cozy, clean, and welcoming - perfect for two people. The backyard is cute, we had fun saying 'hi' to the chickens each morning.
The neighborhood was peaceful, with a walking/biking path nearby that we enjoyed exploring. It's a quick drive to downtown, so the location is really convenient. We even found some neat restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.
If we ever stay in Minneapolis again, we would be more than happy to stay at Greg and Lucy's!
Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to meet Greg and Lucy. Room is cosy and comfortable for 2 with shower and toilet facilities all within the basement. Nice neighborhood and in the heart of the city.
My friend and I came in to Minneapolis for two nights. Gregory met us at the house and gave us a quick tour of the space. He and Lucy were welcoming and very happy to give us suggestions on where to eat and what we could do in the area. The space in basement was separate from the rest of the house with a comfortable bed fit for two, a shower, sink, and a toilet. Great space, great neighborhood, and great hosts!
