Interaction with Guests
It's really up to the plans of the guests. If you hang around we interact. If you have a busy schedule we just see each other in passing. No problem come and go when you like. No restriction or rules for that stuff.
The people here are very progressive and love to tell you about the Seward neighborhood and all it has to offer. The Mississippi River is nearby to explore the only area where it flows through a limestone gorge. Hardly know you are in the city. Also Seward's unique historic "Milwaukee Avenue" neighborhood with restored city blocks, sans cars, of 19th century factory worker homes. This is a great neighborhood with many flower gardens to stroll through on the way to the stores or restaurants that are a walking distance away. Easy public transportation access to all parts of Mpls and St Paul.
There is a light rail station a ten minute walk from the house that connects you to the Mall of America, MSP Int'l Airport, Downtown Mpls and St Paul, The Capitol and the Twins, Vikings, Lynx, Timberwolves and Wild professional team stadiums. Also the commuter train that goes to Fridley, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Elk River and Big Lake to the north. And everything in between...
Best bikeways system in the US, that starts next to the house and bike rentals available nearby. City transit system of buses has 5+ routes going by the house in every direction.
No smoking, shoes off in house!, no loud music, respect sleeping hours, no synthetic perfumes.
Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to meet Greg and Lucy. Room is cosy and comfortable for 2 with shower and toilet facilities all within the basement. Nice neighborhood and in the heart of the city.
My friend and I came in to Minneapolis for two nights. Gregory met us at the house and gave us a quick tour of the space. He and Lucy were welcoming and very happy to give us suggestions on where to eat and what we could do in the area. The space in basement was separate from the rest of the house with a comfortable bed fit for two, a shower, sink, and a toilet. Great space, great neighborhood, and great hosts!
My husband and I were visiting the area for the weekend as we had a convention at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and this was our first Airbnb experience. We could not have asked for better hosts. Gregory was very patient with us throughout the process since we had a lot of questions, and he always responded quickly as well. Lucy was wonderful and welcoming, explaining the ins and outs of our stay, since we would be getting right to our destination and then getting back late and out early again in the morning. They are both warm and friendly, even suggesting good places in the area for us to eat or get snacks. The neighborhood is wonderful, quiet and safe, so we went for a walk to a Latin-American restaurant they suggested for dinner and it was truly amazing! Upon returning for the night, we loved how comfortable and warm the bedding was since the weather turned a bit cool in the evenings. Everything was provided in our stay-area including fresh and fluffy towels, soap, shampoo, etc. We had a great time and really appreciated the quiet space, hospitality of our hosts and the lovely garden out back.
Stayed for two nights and had a great time. The bed is really comfortable and since it's a basement room , you basically have the whole basement to yourself. They're very flexible on my arrival and departure schedule, I had to leave very early in the morning to catch a flight, they made it so easy for me.
We were only able to stay one of the two nights we booked, because I was selected to serve on a jury and couldn't get out of Chicago when planned. Greg was understanding and nice. He greeted us upon arrival and showed us the basement where we would stay. He was very helpful with tips on the city. The space had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. I think the bedding could have used a trip through the wash before we got there, it was a little smelly, but we made due. All in all, the stay was pretty good :)
This was my second time staying at this Airbnb and I would absolutely stay again. It had all the basic amenities, although they weren't equivalent to a nice hotel, but for the price you wouldn't expect something very fancy. One aspect I liked was that it was really easy to come and go as I pleased, even later at night. I was quite busy during my trip so I didn't get a chance to talk with Gregory, but he was friendly and welcoming when I did see him.
