The space

Welcome to Maison Delmas, a Maison de Maître, chambres d'hotes (bed and breakfast) situated in the beautiful medieval Lot village of Puy l’Eveque. The house and mill were built in 1769 and have been sympathetically restored and furnished with period furniture.

There are four bedrooms available. Three double rooms, two with four poster beds and one twin room. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. A plentiful continental breakfast including cereals, croissants, fruit and yoghurt will be served on the terrace, weather permitting.

Guests have the use of the lounge with TV (English) and the salon for reading where plenty of books are available.
We are conveniently situated in the heart of the village with an enclosed garden perfect for relaxing in sun or shade. We have parking facilities on site and secure storage space for bicycles if required. We are within easy walking distance of the 10 restaurants in the village offering a variety of French cuisine.

The area has a host of things to see and do, be it visiting the many Bastide towns, walking in the hills and vineyards or enjoying the many festivals and fetes and markets available, selling local French produce and many gastronomic delights. There are a variety of attractions in the area including St Cirq Lapopie, Lascaux and Peche Merle caves, Padirac underground lakes, Rocamadour, Chateau Bonaguil and Chateau Biron. Picnics can be provided with reasonable notice.
We are very close to the river Lot well known for its good fishing of carp, catfish and perch to name but a few. There are also a range of outdoor activities in the local area including canoeing and boat trips on the ‘Gabare’ (a river barge) with trips cruising along the river Lot.

Home from home, we have had a splendid time with Diane and James, both very friendly and warm people. Their home is beautiful, well maintained, spacious garden and great bedroom. Beds were really comfy and breakfast was lovely with fresh "viennoiseries", bread, cereals, juice, tea, coffee, yoghurt, jams and fruits. I would recommend to anyone. Thank you.

Lovely setting with lots to see and do in Puy L'Eveque and the surrounding area. We stayed in the two bed gitte which had ample space for a family of four and was comfortable and homely. Hosts were very friendly and approachable and made us feel very welcome.

James and Diane were the perfect hosts- welcoming, friendly incredibly informative and went out of their way to ensure you had the best stay, including taking us on a wine tasting trip. The house and room were beautiful, tasteful and set in the most picturesque village you could ever hope to see. All told the best b n b we have stayed in. We left feeling we had stayed with good friends and had a relaxing break, and will definitely be going back; simply wonderful!

James and Diane made us all feel very welcome. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and we had tea and coffee making facilities in each room, which was very welcome. Despite the inclement weather, we were able to have good walks around ancient and very picturesque Puy l'Eveque, which is very well situated for investigating other areas of the Dordogne. We ate two very good meals at a restaurant James recommended and in the morning croissants & jam, yoghurts and cereal with coffee and hot chocolate set us up for the day ahead. Embarrassingly I have just found a key belonging to Maison Delmas, so will be sending this back asap - thanks very much James and Diane

Hi
I am interested in architecture and old buildings, anything and everything interests me consequently am an expert at none.
My current house is an ongoing project the main part of which has been restored, as always with old houses there is always more to do.
Living in France is an ideal, with excellent food and wine to be enjoyed in the region with the benefit of good weather. We enjoy a picnic and swimming at one of the many swimming lakes in the area particularly in the warm summer evenings. The walking in the area is excellent
