The Space

HELLO AND WELCOME!
Stay in a colourful, full of art condo, with a designer/artist hostess (me) in the heart of Vancouver. Your private, single- bed room is very small but comfortable. Attention: it has no window.
I am glad to help if you need information or tips on how to get around or what to do in Vancouver. I have an extra bike and you are welcome to use it since bicycle paths are great here and you can see a lot just biking around.

I am glad to offer you tea or coffee in the morning, the rest you will have to find in the store downstairs. It is a great Chinese market just below, which offers a big variety of yummy foods including sushi and dumplings. Next to it is an Italian restaurant, Starbucks and other coffee shops just across the street. I have a large balcony where you may find fresh tomatoes, parsley and green peas if you come before I eat them all. You are welcome to cook for yourself in my kitchen and use my spices.

LOCATION: The location is great: just in front of Stadium Sky-train (tube or subway) station, which means you can get here straight from the airport in about 45 minutes and save $40 on one way trip. If you are coming by car, I have a parking space for visitors. If you stay longer than 7 days, there will be a parking fee of $70/month.

AMENITIES: You are welcome to use the indoor pool, sauna, hot-tub, gym, and ping-pong table in the building and there is a large garden outside. The apartment has wireless internet. You can do your laundry using my in-suite washer & dryer, but under my supervision.

WHERE TO GO: You will be living 3 minutes away from Gastown, the historic part of Vancouver, where restaurants and bars are open until late. You will be at the gate of wonderful Chinatown and a few minutes walking distance from the business district. You are a 30 minute bus ride away from the mountains or the ferry terminal.

LANGUAGES: If you prefer to communicate in other languages, I also speak French, Polish, Spanish, Romanian, Hungarian, some Russian and German.

I have traveled to Asia, Europe and Africa, but I am always interested in your travel stories. I love meeting people and getting to know them.
If you play guitar, I would love you to play it. I may sing, but I the chances are rather small!

I would prefer you to be a woman, but a kind and considerate man would also be welcome to stay.

  • The location is great. Walking distance to many attractions, and in front of train station, only 30 min to the airport. I rented the mini room because I was planning to be out most of the day, however I was surprised that the mini room doesnt have a window and that was very uncomfortable for me. Other than that Izabela made sure everything else was ok.

  • I had a great time staying with Izabela! The place was clean with beautiful furniture, and the location was amazing. Izabela is such a sweet person and helped me find ways to get around, and figure out the buses to get to places. She even invited me to a party so I got to meet some of her friends! The mini rooms was warm and comfortable and I had more than enough storage space. I would definitely recommend staying at her place to any friend!

  • Everything about this lodging was quite wonderful. First, the host is a pleasure: responsive and responsible, friendly, and very informative. Second, the lodging includes, beyond the small bedroom itself, complete use of full kitchen facilities and a side room with dining table, a bathrooms with all supplies, a comfortable living room, and a lovely balcony filled with thriving plants and a good view. Third, security is excellent, with a security entrance to the building as well as the normal key for entry to the apartment; and the unit is on the sixth floor safe from outside break-in. Fourth, the location is absolutely terrific: a two-minute walk from the Chinatown-Stadium metro stop, within the metro system that runs from/to the Vancouver International Airport; and in the nexus between Chinatown to the east by about three minutes on foot, Gastown to the north by about five minutes, the start of the Downtown to the west beginning in about five or six minutes by foot, and Yaletown about five minutes to the south. Other attractive zones, such as the West End and Stanley Park beyond it, are easily accessible by bus with stations quite nearby and usually without need for any transfer. Additionally, there are bikes available for use, though I didn't choose to take advantage of that option. Overall, everything was wonderful in my experience, nothing to complain about at all.
    Thanks for the hospitality.

  • I had a pleasant stay at Izabela's. Although she was not present during most of the four weeks I was there, she was always reachable by phone and email. Izabela gave me good tips for places to go and what to do around Vancouver. I didn't have much luggage with me, so the small room was not a problem. I would recommend this place for any solo traveler!

I am an artist/interior designer. I traveled a lot and love meeting new people. I really like when people feel at home here in my crowded/whimsy place, play guitar and sing.
