Interaction with Guests
We are always available to assist our guests in their preparation of their trip to Vermont and gladly provide tips for restaurants, sightseeing, outdoor activities, shopping, etc.
Our 5 acre property is located in a rural, very quiet Vermont setting 10 miles south of Middlebury, VT. Our property is located on a ridge with a wonderful 360° view over the Champlain Valley, the Adirondack and Green Mountains.
Because of the rural setting of our property, there is no public transportation available.
Our general philosophy is "Treat our property as you treat yours".
Because we are prone to rapid weather conditions in summer where thunderstorms can pop up unexpectedly, we ask that windows will be closed when leaving the apartment.
When leaving the apartment, please lock the apartment door.
Our sensitive smoke alarm in the apartment has a tendency to go off when one toasts bread or bagels. Keep this in mind and don't get upset when the alarm should go off.
The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped, from bedroom to kitchen to full bath. In the hosts' attention to detail, such as supplying spices, maps, soaps, games, and fresh food for breakfast, is a welcoming interest in visitors as people.
The location is quiet and sublime. There is excellent rural road biking through the area. Twenty-five minutes west by bike is the ferry crossing to Ticonderoga, New York. Fifteen or twenty minutes east by car is Green Mountain National Forest. Ten minutes north by car is Middlebury.
Graziella and Libra, her happy and playful dog, treated us immediately as friends on their apple orchard. We would gladly return.
Once again and possibly for our final time we had the pleasure of staying at Peter and Graziella's home/apt. Over the course of the 4 years that our daughter attended Middlebury College it has become our absolute favorite place to stay! Honestly, it is as comfortable as being in our own home. We appreciated all of the personal touches including the lilacs in our room, refrigerator filled with morning necessities, bathrobes hanging by the bathroom, abundance of thick plush towels, and all the fine toiletries you might need.
On the morning of the day before graduation I had time to contemplate the time gone by sitting on their patio overlooking a spectacular Vermont vista (having my first cup of coffee). It was quite chilly out and being the perfect hostess, Graziella actually came out and covered me with a blanket!
I am only hopeful that some day in the future we will once again have the opportunity to stay at Peter and Graziella's home.
This was our second stay in Peter & Graziella's lovely apartment. We returned for a second two-night get-away because the first visit was so perfect. We're so appreciative for their warm welcome, the extra amenities they provide and their graciousness. The apartment is clean, spacious, private and well-stocked. We love the fun and funky artwork that makes it especially original. The home is just 10 minutes from Middlebury, but honestly, we didn't have a lot of need to leave! Graziella recommended the Shoreham Inn for dinner and it was great advice. We hope to return yet again.
Graziella and Peter made our Middlebury weekend a special one. The apartment was spacious, enhanced by Graziella's excellent taste--including many of her own paintings and sketches. The view from every window was just as advertised. Graziella's suggestions for restaurants and area activities were both useful and accurate. . . . Most enjoyable all around, and well worth another visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were perfect. Prompt in responding to questions before our visit, and helpful but not intrusive while we were there. We appreciated the beautiful space and the kitchen stocked with eggs, milk, bread, cheese, fruit, juice and yogurt. Nice well-appointed bathroom with great towels and travel-sized lotions, shampoos, etc. It was convenient to Middlebury, but allowed us to explore the area south as well. It is no surprise that they receive such rave reviews. We are happy to add ours to all the others.
We had a fabulous time! The apartment is cozy, warm, welcoming and the view is truly spectacular. Just perfect sights all around for the artist soul. We really enjoyed the simple and quiet all around. Looking forward connecting again in the spring.
About the Host, Peter & Graziella
We both are dual citizens of the USA and Switzerland and cherish the distinct cultural differences of these two highly industrialized countries. Our early lives blessed us with frequent and extended travels all over the world. We also lived for a couple of years in Montreal, Canada and Bogotà, Colombia and real life experiences in all continents but Africa shaped our believe that human nature is fundamentally as sincere and as precious as we all expect it to be. We love having people visit us and can assure visitors of their total privacy.
