About this listing
“Art in the heart of Rome”
This unique loft in the heart of Rome was born from the artistic concept of a roman artist. The antique perfectly melts with the modern. Sculptures, pictures and furnitures are the peculiarity of this big open space of almost 180 square meters/1,940 square feet, composed of a large kitchen, two bathrooms (one has a shower and the other a tub with shower), 3 bedrooms (2 double rooms and 1 for three people with a mezzanine floor) and a large living room. The apartment has an autonomous central heating system. There is no air conditioning because its special position on the ground floor makes it cool. The flat also includes a washing machine, a dish washer and free WI FI Internet access. The whole flat is equipped with everything necessary to ensure the comfort of our guests.

I cannot rate this apartment highly enough! I think what absolutely makes it is the attention to detail of the owner, it is do obviously a home, with all comforts thought about from fans, to lights in all the right places. We loved the beds lay out, slept so comfortably on the futon bed on the mezzanine! So many comfy sofas, interesting books, well equipped kitchen and literally in the heart of everything, as you step out of the front door there is an excellent restaurant right there, for exploring you cannot go wrong, so close to Piazza Navona... So beautiful for evening strolls! We all loved staying somewhere authentic...we could pretend to be locals just for a while! There is even a piece of Roman road passing through the hallway!
Valentina is a superb host, with easy, friendly communication and nothing is a problem.
She organized station and airport transfers for us which was great value for money and truly made arriving and leaving Rome an effortless process. I would thoroughly recommend this.
Valentina... You have something very special here! We were so grateful to find your place and experience your wonderful hosting 10/10 from us!
Tuvimos una muy buena experiencia, el departamento es algo ruidoso entre una recamara y otra pero no tiene ruido externo. El servicio y ayuda de valentía fue extraordinario.
Valentina really looked after us. Our arranged pick up with her from the airport was smooth and she and her husband helped us get settled in to her lovely place. Everything was clean and comfortable. The apartment was light and spacious and the design and aesthetic unique and lovely. they also recommended great restaurants and cafes nearby.
Me and my family spent 4 amazing days in Rome to celebrate our parents 20th anniversary. We really liked the loft with all its character and unique details. Valentina was a great host! She answered all of my e-mails and questions quickly and were so helpful with everything. Booking the transfer for the airport, reservation at this restaurant we wanted try out and lots of suggestions on things to do and see. She had even bought us a cake and some champagne to celebrate with upon our arrival!
The beds were comfortable, although my sisters found the "double bed" they shared a bit too small for two people.
The location is absolutely fantastic, couldn´t be better! We could walk to all of the important and interesting historical sights in Rome. We found a lot of great small bars and restaurants just around the corner from the loft.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity to stay at Valentina's apartment due to change in travel plans but my sister did and she loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone going to Rome. Valentina is very prompt in communication and very friendly.
Valentina was extremely helpful prior to our arrival. She went out of her way to book us a private car to take us to the airport at the end of our trip, and she also booked us the Colosseum underground tour with her own money (for us to pay upon arrival). She even bought us milk, juice and a bottle of water. Prior to our arrival she said that we would need to pay a hotel tourist tax per person, per day for our stay and that we should bring her cash when we arrived. It was only 36.00 so it wasn't a big deal. When we arrived that number mysteriously changed to 42.00, but we paid it without complaint. We booked the apartment because it was perfectly situated for our needs in the city, and because it had an interesting charm. We were assured that it was child friendly (our kids 1.5, 1.5 and 4); though it definitely was not. We had to do a lot of barricading, and removing of breakable objects. Even that was not overly bothersome. There was a ton of space for them to run around. Our first evening there we all took off our shoes after a long day of travel, when we were getting ready for bed we noticed that the kids socks were black and covered with dust, fuzz and crumbs. Our feet were also black. Though the floor appeared clean at first glance, so obviously liquid spills or crumbs; it was disgusting. I looked for a mop, but only found a swiffer. I have no doubt that she mopped prior to our arrival with said swiffer, but that can't clean cobblestone and tiny tile floors. Next was the hot water. We had no hot water that first morning. Apparently it is linked to a light switch in one of the rooms. Rather that just apologize that we all had to take freezing cold showers she refused to take any responsibility and told us we had turned it off; not possible the switch was high up and hidden. At check in she told us not to run any other appliances when using the oven. That was expected. It is an old house. What we didn't expect was to short out the power completely when we used the washer and had more than 2 lights on. This was also made to sound like we should have known better. She won't answer any phone calls from an out of country number; even though she knows it is you; even if it is an emergency. She only wants to use WhatsApp a free wifi messaging app. She makes up an excuse every time you ask her why she didn't return your call or answer as to why she couldn't; why she sent you a message instead. She just doesn't want to pay the fee for the call. I could only answer the messages once we were back at the house with the wifi and she...
The lodging tax is mandatory for the municipality of Rome, not only for hotels but for every kind of vacation rentals.
The fee is 2 euro per night per person. (I wrote to you)
So in your case was 2x7x3=42euro. I made a mistake in the first time, my apologies.
For the cleaning you could have asked me I would have been happy to send you for free the attendant lady since you had 3 kids. I left you soap for washing machine and for the dish washer, how can you think that there wasn't also a mop and a vacuum cleaner? The house is fully equipped and there is more in the apartment of what Airbnb requests.
For the emergency I was really out of Rome and by the way I don't pay any fee for incoming calls.
Valentina was an excellent host. So easy to communicate with and super-prompt with every response. She made sure that everything was in order and took time to explain everything to us, even making special arrangements for a car to take us to the airport.
The apartment is in such a perfect location for exploring the city center. Rooms were cozy and large. There are a number of unique details throughout the apartment, antique stairs/mirrors incorporated into the space.
We found the showers to be a bit odd throughout Europe, but the one accessible from the hallway was especially so. Kind of resembled a stand-up tanning bed--a bit confusing to operate without much water pressure or heat. Don't expect a "sauna."
Place itself is somewhat cavernous and a bit dark and musty. At times, it can feel like you're staying in a basement.
Overall, would definitely recommend for the amount of space and location.
thank you for your feedback.
I am very upset about you not being comfortable: for me it's the main thing! There is a big de-humidifier in the hallway, if you would have told me about your problem I would have switch it for you also before your arriving. The allergy is not due to the apartment since I am using special products for cleaning and special bed's linens against allergies and acarus. You came in a period where the pollen is at the maximum production, though. But I'll make extra efforts to improve myself and my apartment. Have a great day!
