Interaction with Guests
We do not live on the premises but are only 3 miles away. There is a lock box for entrance when we cannot meet guests in person.
LA is not known for it's transit system. A car is still the best way to get around. There is a metro that can be accessed downtown which is 1 mile and 1/2 away from the apartment.
We have street parking which has worked for most guests.
Other Things to Note
There is a rules sheet located in the apartment and we request each guest acquaint themselves with it for instructions regarding parking and trash, internet and tv.
We have been fortunate in having had the most respectful guest so we simply want you to enjoy the space and understand you share the planet with others. Be mindful and treat space with the care that was put into it that compelled you to book.
Joanne replied immediately and quickly accepted our request. Checking in was a breeze, she's set that whole system up nicely. Her place was exactly as described, super cute and accommodating. It does have air-conditioning, but you still need to use the provided fans as well. It's an easy around the corner walk from Echo Park Lake which we enjoyed. A great home base for scouting out apartments in the area. I would definitely stay there again.
The place had a good location in a nice part of LA. Joanne was quick to respond to any messages which was really helpful as we had been waiting on replies from other host and we could not continue to wait any longer. It can be a little loud with older wood floors and the attached unit, but that comes with older homes I think. All in all I would not have any problem staying there again.
Joanne's place is simply wonderful - We (my girlfirend and I) are staying there since 2 months and could luckily extend for two more months. Well, there's a couple of reasons for that! Among those, its the perfect location close to the vibrant Echo Park lake area, rooms with a lot of air and sunlight, a nicely equipped kitchen which makes dinner events more than fun, streetparking, ...
Everything is as it is shown on the pictures - no suprises. Joanne immediately reponds to texts or mails. We could not recomment this place more!
I would highly recommend this house to anyone interested in staying Echo Park, especially for an extended length of time. My girlfriend & I stayed here for a month while we settled into LA and searched for a permanent home after moving from New York, and we had a great stay. It was hard to leave, and we would have loved to stay longer.
The only thing I would recommended would be to check the weather the time of year of your intended stay, as this house does not have AC, and can get quite warm. Most of the year in LA can be very comfortable, but we had a few 105 degree days that were pretty tough to be in a house with no AC if you're used to having control.
Overall, highly recommended!
Our stay in Echo Park really contributed to a fantastic weekend in LA. The apartment is spacious and sunny (as seen in the listing). Echo Park is beautiful and you can't get much closer than this. The neighborhood is quiet but fun with some great spots to eat.
We had a great time staying in Echo Park. The apartment was very stylish and felt inviting. It was spacious and the airflow was great especially at night with the windows open. Joanne was an absolute pleasure to deal with during our entire visit. Walking to dodger stadium was a lot of fun and can be accomplished in less than 20 minutes from this home. The lake down the street felt like a little oasis in the middle of LA. The only issue we had was that our car got broken into one night while parked across the street from the house. Outside of that everything was great!
