We are located in the Glasgow West End conservation area, about 15 minutes walk from the University of Glasgow so perfect if you have friends or relatives who are students at the University. Gartnavel Hospital is 10 minutes walk.
Our nearest rail station is only two stops (5 minutes) from Exhibition Centre station for SSE Hydro and SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre), and three stops from Glasgow Queen Street station in the city centre.
Our home, which is a top-floor 1870s sandstone tenement apartment over 2 levels, is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, all the rooms having been renovated in the last few years.
We will set out a breakfast table for you to help yourself. We provide:
• toast with butter, jam, peanut butter, etc
• tea/herbal tea/coffee
• a selection of cereals / porridge
• there is usually also cheese, yoghurt and fruit.

The apartment is not child-proof so we cannot welcome guests with young children or babies.
There is FREE on-street parking.
We provide towels, bathrobes, toiletries and a hairdryer. We have high-speed fibre WiFi and books, maps and travel guides for Glasgow and Scotland.
You may help yourself to tea, herbal tea, freshly-ground coffee and filtered water and we provide a self-serve breakfast.
There is only one bathroom in the apartment so the bathroom is shared; it has an excellent Raindance© shower and plenty of hot water. There is also a separate WC upstairs, next to your bedroom.
We have a washing machine and plenty of drying racks if you need to do some laundry.
There is no TV in your bedroom but you are welcome to join us in the sitting room to chat or watch TV, or in the separate music room to listen to music or play the piano.
Interaction with Guests
The room is in our home so we will be resident during your stay. We will usually be there to show you around when you first arrive and we're very happy to offer local advice.
The West End of Glasgow is the BEST area for visitors. West End, Glasgow won The Academy of Urbanism "The Great Neighbourhood Award" 2014.
From Wikipedia: "Glasgow's West End refers to the bohemian district of cafés, tea rooms, bars, boutiques, upmarket hotels, clubs and restaurants in the hinterland of Kelvingrove Park, the University of Glasgow (including the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, Mackintosh House), Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, the Museum of Transport, Glasgow Botanic Gardens and the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, especially on the area's main thoroughfare, Byres Road. The area is popular with tourists, and contains many hotels, including the prestigious One Devonshire Gardens, which has accommodated a number of celebrity guests on visits to the city."
There are good public transport links to the city centre (train, subway or bus). We usually catch a train to the city centre from our local station (less than 10 minutes walk away) and the journey is only about 10 minutes.
We are only a 10-15 minute walk from Byres Road, the heart of the West End: close enough to enjoy the benefits but our street is much quieter than those around Byres Road.
Glasgow is a compact city so it is less than 1 hour to Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and the west coast as well as Edinburgh on the east.
