Kathleen's place is cozy and absolutely perfect! It’s all the “little” things she does that show she cares not only about the property, but the comfort of her guests. So many touches from an assortment of K-cups, a little “munchie” basket, the option to have On-Demand movies, and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. Be sure to try some of her local recommendations for groceries and wine! Excellent combination with Kathleen, we look forward to staying again!
Kathleen's hideaway was absolutely perfect. The studio was clean and neat, with every amenity you could think of. It was so welcoming, way more so than a hotel. The bed was insanely comfortable! The location is great as well- located to everything we wanted to do. Staying here made our trip that much more enjoyable!
Kathleen was a great host! She provided all the details we needed to find the location, park & access the apartment. She was very helpful & had lots of useful information about Austin in the room. The amenities were great--lots of thoughtful touches in the unit, which made our stay very comfortable.
My mom and I stayed with Kathleen for 5 nights. I must say this is one of the most accompanying Air Bnb stays I have had! She is such a wonderful host, from a basket of snacks to all the instructions you may need (using the bikes, wifi, calling a cab, one free movie on direct) printed out hanging from a wall for you.
Her neighborhood is friendly and the place is nicely situated so that all you need is a bike to get around (even still, my mom walked around most of our time there and didn't mind).
I really enjoyed my time here!
Kathleen's little hideaway is a great place to stay in Austin. The apartment itself is more than spacious enough for its purpose and is very comfortable with everything you could hope to need while on vacation.
The location is fantastic, it's only minutes from South Congress which is the part of Austin I was most interested in visiting. If it weren't a scorching summer I could easily have walked the distance.
Overall, a great place to stay. Thanks for having us!
This was a great place for a family member of mine who was in town. She had a great stay, and the place was exactly as pictured and described. Very cute location and set-up. The place had everything you would need and more. Kathleen was a wonderful, accommodating hostess.
Good communication and directions. The kitchen is well equipped and loved all the snacks. Comfortable bed and quiet air conditioner made this a very comfortable stay.

About the Host, Kathleen
I have lived in Austin most of my life. My family moved here in 1958 when my father got a teaching job at UT. I spent my twenties in beautiful Boulder, CO then came back home. I feel fortunate to live in one of the coolest neighborhoods in one of the most interesting and livable cities. In 2012, I converted an efficiency apartment in my triplex to a short-term rental. It has gone so well that as of May 2015, the 2/1 apartment in the triplex is on Airbnb too. I love meeting the guests. Hearing what people from Europe to Hawaii observe about Austin has broadened my perspective.
I live in the third apartment in the triplex and work from home as the executive director of Truth Be Told, a small nonprofit that provides programs for incarcerated women.
