Unwind at this 15th century building on one of the most lively streets of Trastevere. Sunlight pours into the apartment through French doors, providing a rare view of the quarter's ancient houses. Just a 10-20 minute walk to major tourist sites like Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, it's the perfect place to relax after a day sightseeing. Plus you're nestled right in the center of the popular Trastevere neighborhood with its renowned trattorias, winding medieval streets, and late-night wine bars.

The space
The apartment has been lovingly restored with stone arches, hand-cut terracotta tiles, and gleaming wood-beamed ceilings. Sunlight from the balcony suffuses the living room and eat-in kitchen, equipped with everything you need to restore and renew (including fridge, washer/dryer, and dishwasher, behind the cabinetry).

Observe the lively street life from the elegant main bedroom which overlooks Vicolo del Cinque, one of the most popular streets in this ancient quarter. The master bath features an antique sewing table as a wash stand and a new glass-enclosed shower.

Get a taste of the convent this building once was when you sleep in the single bed nook in the second bedroom. Daydream or get some work done at the wooden desk that overlooks the quiet courtyard. Kids love climbing up the wooden ladder to the loft, where you'll find a second single bed, even more expansive views, and a small bathroom.

Begin and end the day on the apartment's unique balcony, spanning the length of the living room: the perfect place to sip a morning coffee or soak up the evening air with a drink in hand.

Other things to note
This abode is located in an ancient building in a popular nightlife quarter, and we want you to be aware of its quirks and special features.

The apartment is on the third floor, and there is no elevator, but a wide stone staircase of 41 steps.

The two levels of the second bedroom are connected by a somewhat steep and narrow wooden ladder staircase that is not recommended for people with mobility issues. The ceiling is slanted in the small upstairs bathroom and people taller than 5'6" (168 cm) will probably not be able to stand up in the shower.

This historic quarter of Trastevere is currently one of the most popular places to go out at night. The apartment is quiet, but the main bedroom faces Vicolo del Cinque, which can get quite loud late into the night with its restaurants and bars. However most of our guests feel that the triple-pane window and white-noise machine make it amenable enough for sleeping.

You will be taken care of during your stay by Marco, a native Roman who knows the apartment like home. Marco can also arrange for a car service to pick you up at the airport and bring you to the apartment (for a little more than the cost as a taxi). He can also arrange a return trip for you. Marco will let you in, show you how things work in the apartment, and point out the best places to shop and eat nearby.

We look forward to hosting you!
