Our experience was perfect! Norma (our host) was amazing, always nice, and perfectly clear since the beginning. She gave us all the information we needed, starting from the house description (and rules), access (routes) and staff information. Regarding Norma I could not think of anything she could improve, as she was perfect with everything!
Claudia (cook) was excellent! She made sure everything was ready upon our arrival, and her cooking was delicious! It's always nice to have something good to eat, but Claudia took it to the next level!
The cleaning staff (managed by Argelli) was also perfect! Everyday we had a clean house and they worked around our schedule (which was basically a surprise every day on our end, due to the wedding we had next door, at Imanta, and the previous days of our stay, in which we decided what we wanted to do each morning).
Demonio (the keeper) was extremely polite, nice and well-intentioned. He offered to help us with coconuts and fresh fish for our delights, and it was all extraordinary.
In summary, our stay was second to none, it was perfect! We are already planning to rent the house again (as soon as we can, in a couple of months). I recommend this house to anyone that wants a private house for a great vacation!
Wow, what a great way to travel! This house absolutely lived up to it's description and was truly spectacular. What made the whole experience memorable was the great service of the staff and Norma. Claudia was an amazing cook and there is nothing like having fresh, homemade Mexican food available each day. Demonio and Argeli were also wonderful.
We didn't get a 4WD car rental, but it probably would have given us some peace of mind and reduced the fear of getting a flat tire on the bumpy roads to the house. We also felt very thankful that one of our group members was fluent in Spanish as it made communicating with the staff much more smooth.
Staying at this beach front house has all of the scenery and service of a five star resort but a much more personal feel. We hope to make it back one day!
Our party of ten arrived To a welcoming staff at Normas. Claudia had prepared our meal for the evening, which was wonderful! We can't say enough about Claudia and her wonderful meals she made for us. We arranged to have her cook breakfast and dinner almost every day. With fresh sqeezed orange juice and cut fruit, along with the other authentic mexican dishes. Everyone raved about her home made salsas and everything she cooked. The house is as beautiful as the photos. Argeli the housekeeper took good care of us. Demonio cute up fresh coconut and prepared wood for our fire pit. Norma gave us very good information prior to our arrival. On the last evening of our stay Argeli & Claudias' daughter were decorating the whole place with balloons and decorations for a birthday celebration of one of our friends. They surprised us with all the decor. So very thoughtful and generous of them to do this. Lucky we had one of our group who could speak spanish. It might have been challenging for communicating with the staff if we hadn't had our own interpreter. The road is bumpy, but we did fine with our smaller rental car. We had the most peaceful, wonderful trip! Thank You Norma
There is not much I can add that hasn't been said already. Our entire stay was the definition of perfection. We even saw whales surfacing just off the coast almost every morning from the dining table! Here's a few tips and a quick recap.
- As mentioned before, rent an SUV. The roads leading up to the house can be tricky, and you'll want the freedom to visit the neighboring towns.
- Opt for the cooking service. Claudia was incredible, and there's nothing better than coming home to a warm, delicious meal (and delicious leftovers).
- Absolutely go snorkeling at the Marietas Island. It is better to go first thing in the morning to avoid the tourist rush. Leaving the dock at 8am, we had the hidden beach to ourselves! We met Oscar and Tobi at Punta Mita. En route to the islands, they spotted a family of humongous humpback whales and brought us within mere feet of them! Words cannot do the experience justice.
- The beach at the foot of the house is small, but still quite entertaining. If you want to go swimming or boogie boarding, there is another larger, still private beach just a few minutes away by foot. Of course, there is always the lovely infinity pool right in your backyard.
- Definitely treat yourself to massages by Aurora. Combined with the view, it will certainly be one of the best you'll ever have.
- Do not hesitate to explore Sayulita. We took surfing lessons right on the beach with the Tiger Surf School, and within minutes all of our group had successfully stood up and rode a wave!
- If the night is calm, have Demonio set up the bonfire for you and roast marshmallows.
Argeli was wonderful, and made all these extra-curricular activities happen. Of course, behind the scenes, Norma was the person who made all of this happen. From the very beginning, she was very helpful and made planning the trip a breeze. She was always in contact, whether through airbnb or through text, and made sure our trip went without a hitch.
Our stay was truly a weekend in paradise, and we would return in a heartbeat.
Fantastic stay at Norma's house! Exceeded all of our expectations. Claudia's cooking was fantastic - each meal was better than the last. it was my birthday and Claudia and the staff had a great surprise waiting for us when we returned from spending the day in Sayulita. Argeli made us feel very welcome throughout the stay. Demonio led us to the house the first night, and even waited several hours for us as we were running late. The house is set right on the water with an incredible view. The beach is a short walk or drive away. We had a group of 9 people and everything about traveling with that many people could have been entirely too complicated, but being at the house and having everything taken care of for you -- it's the way to go! We got fantastic massages from Aurora and her sister in the palapa - you should absolutely opt for it, too. Lastly, Norma was wonderful throughout the entire trip. She kept in communication with us and checked in often. Truly a wonderful host!
One last thing - we rented an SUV and I can say with confidence that it's necessary. The roads leading to the house are rocky, and you'll be glad you did.
All the reviews sum this place up perfectly - it's amazing! We had a fantastic family holiday and couldn't have asked for better service, location or facilities. Food was first class and all made from scratch, so would definitely recommend having the cook. Norma was so helpful in arranging transport and in helping us with any questions. And also the dirt road leading to the house is fine for a standard rental car, just need to go slow for the last few hundred metres. Thanks so much for an amazing vacation - we will be back :-)z
From the beginning, Norma was informative, helpful and welcoming in her communication about the house. She made sure we understood that arriving to a home-cooked healthy meal, prepared by her house cook Claudia, would be a good idea after a long journey and we are so glad we listened to her! We arrived later in the evening to a friendly staff waiting for us patiently and a delicious, colorful meal! It is good to know that the staff are part of the experience with this home, as they are needed for the daily maintenance and care of the house.
Demonio and Argeli, the pool man and housekeeper made sure everything was in working order and helped us get settled in. All three helpers were very professional, trustworthy and kind. It was clear we were in good hands and that they are very knowledgeable about the property. The two came everyday to keep the home clean and the details in working order, which seems to be needed in a home in a tropical area...
Norma's home is lovely and clean, with beautiful art in every room and simple yet classy decor. We absolutely loved the sweeping views of the horizon, the private beach with crabs, the stunning setting... enough to wow anyone who loves privacy, nature and luxury, all in one package. Each room is gorgeous, the beds are comfy, there is not much left for wanting!
The sound of the waves crashing on the shore is loud, yet each room has a decent sound barrier that mutes the intensity, as they each have sliding glass doors, so each room, can be fully enclosed. This made the sound of the waves lulling rather then over-stimulating. Each bedroom also has their own bathroom, which is a convenient feature.
We found the location of the house really great for our liking as well, as we had access to Litibu beach which was our favorite, with great boogie-boarding (the house provides the boards), Sayulita 15 min away for when we wanted a bustling town scene and the serene pool and private beach below there at the house, of course! This all made for a day with much variety, fun and many options for all staying to enjoy depending on their mood and needs.
Argeli, the housekeeper was there each day to make sure clean towels were stocked and that everything was clean and comfortable for our stay. If there was ever an issue with anything in the house, she made sure to get it handled immediately and she is very sweet and helpful. She speaks mainly Spanish, so be ready to learn a little prior to coming in order to communicate with clarity.
Norma was an excellent hostess and was always prompt to respond to every email we sent her. We definitely recommend staying at this Spectacular beach house and are counting the days until we can return!
