About this listing

The space

Crescent House is a 3 story Victorian home 5 minutes walk from Galway's city centre & 5 minutes walk from the sea. The house is furnished in a mixture of antique and modern furniture. You will have a spacious double room and a very comfy king bed and there is a bathroom across the hall.

Paid parking is available on the street outside the house but there is free parking on an adjacent street.

This home was lovingly refurbished in 2011 and all the historical features have been retained. Original wooden floors and shutters, high ceilings and sash windows combine with the cosiness and comfort of modern conveniences. The kitchen is modern but with an original fireplace in the dining area. Crescent House has hosted a number of historical figures in the past.

The Crescent is one of the most prestigious addresses in Galway.
Please note that the street view here does not show the correct street for some reason.

Within 3 minutes walk you will find one of Galway's best restaurants, Kai Cafe and the well known Crane Bar home to some of the best traditional music in town. A further 2 minutes will bring you to more award winning restaurants with the famous Quay Streetonly a 7 minute stroll. Other restaurants close by that we recommend include Ard Bia and Anair and we highly recommend Neachtains pub - you never know who you'll run into there over a pint of Guinness.
Walk the other direction and within 5 minutes you are on Salthills promenade looking across Galway Bay to the hills of Clare and the Burren.

While you're here enjoy some unique food experiences, get caught in a 'session' in Neachtains, catch a play at the Druid Theatre or a gig in Roisins. Visit Connemara the Aran Islands and The Cliffs of Moher or join me for an early morning dip in Galway Bay at Salthill.

We speak Spanish and French and we have WiFi, bicycles, lots of recommendations and loads of books - no TV though.

Looking forward to meeting you.........

If you love Galway, or have never been, Rory and Ursula's home is a great place to explore the city from. It is only a short walk to some of the best Trad music and restaurants in town. Their beautifully renovated Victorian is comfortable and you will have all the amenities needed. Rory and Ursula know the area well and are a great resource for the local offerings. I am certain you will enjoy your stay as much as we did.

I stayed for two nights at Ursula and Ruaidhri's house at very short notice and they were great at accommodating me. The house is beautiful and also spotless - you would never know anyone else had stayed in the room. It's also in a great location - just a short walk into the centre of Galway or Salthill. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend them.

Ursula and Rory couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Their home was beautiful and our bedroom was elegantly furnished to a high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were meant to stay two nights with Ursula and Rory but our plans had to suddenly be changed and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They gave us plenty of restaurant and pub recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Galway - albeit shorter than what we had first planned! My boyfriend and I thoroughly recommend staying here!

Unfortunately we stayed just for one night at this lovely place. We felt very comfortable and the bedroom is really nice. The city centre is in walking distance and they gave us lots of recommendations about restaurants and interesting places. Ursula and Rory are great and uncomplicated hosts and it’s definitely a place we could recommend.
