  • It was great. I loved the fan on with the window open. The breeze was wonderful. Great neighborhood. I did two things I've wanted to do - go to Astor Wine and Spirits - they had %15 off on all whiskey, and the Big Gay Ice Cream Parlor (the Salty Pimp is great).

I also had some great food including a great swordfish at Cuba, Poblano and Corn Tacos at Taqueria Diana and King Salmon at Siggy's.

    I'd stay again!

  • We spent 10 days in New York at Mathilde's place and we had a really great time! The location of her appartment, its coziness, cleaniness, charm, authenticity were just perfect. You can really feel positive vibes and spirituality in the appartment.
I can warmly recommend her place and we are already thinking of coming back again!

  • We just returned from a great trip to NYC and a great stay in a wonderful apartment. Although we didn't meet Mathilde in person she was always available. Everything was as described - clean, comfortable, quite, well organized,... The area is amazing with all the cafés, bars and shops. We are looking forward to our next stay in NYC at Mathilde's place.

  • Mathilda is a fantastic host. The apartment is clean, cosy and quiet and has a wonderful energy. I look forward to staying there again. Mathilda made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. She exemplifies the fundamental nature of the airbnb culture and community. Namaste!

  • First off Mathilde helped save our holiday to New York. (Due to unforeseen circumstances our previous host had to cancel the reservation). She was very responsive and helpful in such a short period of time. Mathilde also offered some great recommendations for the area and accommodated our earlier than usual arrival.

The apartment itself is great. An extremely clean studio located in the heart of NoLiTa that is perfect for one person or a couple. It is located in the interior of the building so street noise is minimal (though it does get a little dark on those overcast days). There is a nice amount of closet space and the bed is really comfortable. It is located on the first floor so getting your luggage up to the unit is no hassle at all.

Again a great experience at the last minute. Would very much recommend staying here if you want to be in a great neighborhood close to subways, cafes, shopping and restaurants..

  • All of the previous reviews that I read were very accurate. Mathilde's place is extremely clean, conscious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is small and there is no bath. As previously noted the shower pressure isn't great, but it was definitely sufficient. I appreciated having all of the dresser tops, desk tops, counter tops and some hangers in the closet left bare, and there is a light where ever you need one. The furnishings are extremely comfortable; everything you need is where it is supposed to be. There is a nice little music system with an ipod by the bed, and the jack can be used for your iphone or ipad. The bed was so comfortable, I took a picture of the mattress label at the end of my stay, hoping I can purchase the identical queen mattress for our home in S.F. The bed linen was luxurious. The apt. is on the second floor (up 2 short flights of stairs) in the back of the building on a courtyard, where it was remarkably quiet all of the time (I never heard any of the neighbors). I slept s(phone number hidden)well! There is not a lot of direct natural light, but it was very cool. I loved having the gated window open, and the ceiling fan in the bed area revolving slowly most all of the time. One afternoon I was able to sit with a drink and a book on the fire escape. Temperatures weren't July/August hot yet, but it was already a balmy June; I never needed to use the A/C. It is on a gorgeous little street, lined with boutiques and cafes, in an extremely picturesque and happening neighborhood. I enjoyed my morning latte at Bowery Coffee just around the corner, and was able to shop repeatedly (for a job) at the Whole Foods about a block away. It was hard to leave.

  • I recently concluded a 15-day stay at Malthilde's apartment in Nolita.

This apartment was everything I expected to be: clean, functional, comfortable and incredible well located. Bed is super comfty, linens are high quality and the Nespresso machine made my stay more like being at my own place.

Mathilde was also a super host! She made sure I understood everything around the house, took me to a short walk to get to know the neighborhood and even brought flowers once.

Other comments: Air conditioning was good, never used the kitchen, there's a TV (never used either), nice speaker system to plug your iPod.

Things to consider: water pressure on shower. If you are the kind of person who likes quick showers, then fill yourself with patience at Mathilde's. Water pressure is definitely not a highlight!

Conclusion: best of the best around Nolita!

  • Mathildes's place is located in the heart of my favorite neighborhood in NY: Soho. And is so quiet and peaceful, I slept like a baby and enjoyed her light full living... I will be glad to repeat!!

  • Location location location. Mathilde's apartment was amazing. The location was sooo convenient to just about every subway line (within 2 small blocks) so you could get just about anywhere quickly. Amazing cafes, bars and real espresso coffee options everywhere. A great wholefoods supermarket within a block, just everything you could possibly want when staying down in the Soho part of town.
The apartment was really well designed for space, had everything you needed and some nice furnishings and pictures that made us really feel at home, its pretty small, but so is everything down there! Bed was really comfy and best of all it was quiet at night after long days of exploring and dinners/bars. Only minor frustration is that the water pressure in the shower is pretty low, however again thats probably the same wherever you go!
Mathilde was a great host she was very responsive and helpful with tips from where to eat and drink to where we should shop to find shoes! I highly recommend staying at her place and visiting Tacombi (a cool mexican restaurant 5 doors down).
