Please contact us for more info.
Please remember this is a 110 year old house. It has lots of charm and is great but it has its quirks. If you want the five star hotel experience then please go find that. If you want an authentic Beaufort locals experience at a great price, then it is here. We are walking distance to virtually everything in town. This is a very low maintinence property and we hope you and your family are the same. Thank you for your help in paying for our vacation home.
The entire home is yours. There is off street parking for many cars and even your truck and boat trailer.

Sooo many reasons. Boating, wild horses, kitesurfing, weekends out on the islands, free access to beaches, free state parks, loads of history and pirates, amazing fishing, unbelievable sunsets, being so close to the beach but a quick drive to the harbor where the house is located. Walking distance to everything......pet friendly town, live music every where, great food, outstanding beer and wine specialty options, paid parking downtown in season, take a bike, ....kid friendly, NC maritime museum is free and has many activities for kids and sailing camps. Easy budget friendly boat tours to island to hunt for shells and pirate treasure (could happen), NC aquarium, summer camps, Duke research facilities on the next island . Great food and amazing seafood. And you must go see and climb the Cape Lookout lighthouse. It is close and makes for a beautiful day. Ok thats enough ranting, I also suggest you enjoy the back deck in the sunlight and grill up a feast for your crew.
Public transit is not needed as everything is walking/biking distance.
We are very low maintinence here at the beach and we hope you are too. Well behaved pets are welcome with a fee. We do expect you to leave the house as you found it. Yes there is a cleaning fee but it is very inexpensive. In order to keep it that way we all chip in and do our part. It is a clean well kept home, not a hotel.
The picture of the outside of the house doesn't do it justice. This house is pretty cool on the inside. A lot of work has went into the remodel and to make it unique. Ben is adding new teak furniture to the deck area which will be an awesome add. Location is great to walk to the Beaufort water front. We are definitely coming back.
Really great place! Plenty of room for 5-6 people. We didn't use the kitchen, but well equipped for a rental. Several TVs to watch, although you probably won't use them because the waterfront and attractions are a short (15-20 minute) walk away. Blankets and pillows provided, but bring sheets including a pillowcase. Also a good idea to bring a few other staples like toilet paper, trash bags, and paper towels, just in case. All were there when we arrived, but we restocked when leaving. Porch is nice, but bring some chairs if you want to sit out back (maybe there are some in the house, but we didn't get a chance to look). Ben is easy to work with for arrangements. Made for a really great weekend!
Ben's house was great. I liked being able to spend the day at the beach and then come home to a quiet neighborhood and duck the cheesier aspects of the area. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking. Remember to bring your own sheets and towels, (one blanket per bed is provided, lots of pillows provided) and then to bring laundry detergent! Charcoal grill in backyard. Host really accommodating via both email and text. Thanks!
We had a great stay at this historic home while we visited downtown Beaufort for the Pirate Invasion. The house was beautiful with lots of natural wood, natural lighting, and a nice back porch. There was also a flatscreen TV and large comfy couches, but we didn't get a chance to use these as we were downtown most of the weekend. The best part of this place is location, we avoided all the beach traffic and were within a few minutes of everything we needed included groceries and great dining. We especially like the Beaufort Grocery and Old Salt restaurants downtown. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we will consider renting here again next time we are in the area.
EXTERIOR PHOTO DOESN'T DO JUSTICE FOR THIS PLACE ... It is nice and comfortable and attractive inside; and offers a good value with access to Beaufort Front Street for walking, dining, fishing charters, or the ferry to Shackleford Island. We drove over to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle one day.
Within the price range, this is a great house with plenty of room. Lots of real wood furnishings and wooden floors make for a pleasing atmosphere. Lots of TVs, if that is what you want.
The kitchen was clean and updated and everything worked well. Bathrooms (1+1/2) and laundry worked fine. (Handle on washer broken, but Ben put a hook on it to open it.) The beds seemed clean and had mattress covers; we all slept fine on the mattresses, so no complaints there.
One day it might be nice to replace the grill if rentals keep coming in. I bought charcoal before I realized the grill was a gas grill (but I had no gas) and it was pretty well rusted ... so we just cooked in, no problem.
The kids liked hanging out in beach chairs on the back deck in the evening.
Neighborhood is racially mixed; houses are well-kept and everything seemed fairly quiet. I heard someone say the neighborhood is expecting to be on the upswing with a re-development in the old school building.
We liked being able to walk to the marina to fish, and especially walking to Hannah's Haus bar where we played games and danced to a great band till 2am and then walked home.
I thought the walk to Front Street was nice and good exercise. I walked there twice.
Ben was prompt with communications, and patient with my trying to figure out dates, and how to use the AirBnB site; and he didn't charge a cleaning fee like most places, so we were sure to leave the place how we found it.
