Please remember this is a 110 year old house. It has lots of charm and is great but it has its quirks. If you want the five star hotel experience then please go find that. If you want an authentic Beaufort locals experience at a great price, then it is here. We are walking distance to virtually everything in town. This is a very low maintinence property and we hope you and your family are the same. Thank you for your help in paying for our vacation home.
The entire home is yours. There is off street parking for many cars and even your truck and boat trailer.

Sooo many reasons. Boating, wild horses, kitesurfing, weekends out on the islands, free access to beaches, free state parks, loads of history and pirates, amazing fishing, unbelievable sunsets, being so close to the beach but a quick drive to the harbor where the house is located. Walking distance to everything......pet friendly town, live music every where, great food, outstanding beer and wine specialty options, paid parking downtown in season, take a bike, ....kid friendly, NC maritime museum is free and has many activities for kids and sailing camps. Easy budget friendly boat tours to island to hunt for shells and pirate treasure (could happen), NC aquarium, summer camps, Duke research facilities on the next island . Great food and amazing seafood. And you must go see and climb the Cape Lookout lighthouse. It is close and makes for a beautiful day. Ok thats enough ranting, I also suggest you enjoy the back deck in the sunlight and grill up a feast for your crew.
Public transit is not needed as everything is walking/biking distance.
We are very low maintinence here at the beach and we hope you are too. Well behaved pets are welcome. We do expect you to leave the house as you found it. Yes there is a cleaning fee but it is very inexpensive. In order to keep it that way we all chip in and do our part. It is a clean well kept home, not a hotel. Please enjoy.
The pictures accurately describe the size of the spacious house. It was a ten minute walk to downtown Beaufort and a 20 minute drive to Atlantic Beach. We loved being so close to everything, especially that was walkable. The kitchen was a great size for cooking meals. Best of all was the AC! It was so hot at the beach and it was wonderful to come back to a cool house and relax. Ben was great and really attentive to our needs.
Beaufort is a fun little town with lots to see, and Ben's house is a comfy base to explore the Crystal Coast. It's described well as low maintenance, clean with decent beds and good showers. Kitchen is spacious with all the requisite appliances but otherwise bare bones: we drank wine from coffee mugs and used a cookie sheet as a pot lid. Still, we cooked there a lot with no big fuss. It's a beach house, relax! It's walkable to downtown and the delicious Beaufort Grocery but we took the car in the heat, Atlantic Beach is also a quick drive (try the new Idle Hour Biergarten, way better than average beach bar). Friendly neighbors even gave us a bag of shrimp, and Ben was easy to communicate with and offer suggestions for places to eat and things to do. This is a great find for a family (especially with pets) who wants privacy and convenience.
Value for money, this place is a steal. I didn't find anything with this kind of square footage under $200 so closet to the beach.
My only caveat is that despite the kitchen, cooking in this house is difficult. There was no oil, no spices, no measuring spoons, no sugar, no spatula -- if you want to cook, it's still cheaper than eating out, but you'll need to add some equipment.
Great place to stay while exploring the Beaufort area. The house was very nicely decorated inside and having two bathrooms was perfect. We enjoyed visiting the aquarium and taking a ferry out to sand dollar island. Ben was extremely responsive to any of my questions and was a great host.
A great home from which to explore Beaufort! The home is cozy and homey; 3 nicely sized bedrooms with a back deck for viewing the sunset. If it's a nice day, I suggest opening the windows and doors, turning off the ac--breezy, cool, relaxing! An easy walk to the river and historic sites. If you've had your fill of seafood, get No Name pizza--delicious! Grab a hat, towel, and some sunscreen for a ferry over to Shackleford Banks.
All in all, a great getaway. Ben was responsive , really easy to interact with, and the home is accurately described. Be sure to visit!
The picture of the outside of the house doesn't do it justice. This house is pretty cool on the inside. A lot of work has went into the remodel and to make it unique. Ben is adding new teak furniture to the deck area which will be an awesome add. Location is great to walk to the Beaufort water front. We are definitely coming back.
