Built in 1920's as hotel, later converted into apartments. The apartment building is located on Cherokee. In the very heart of Hollywood, one block off the Walk of Fame. In 1930, Bing Crosby rented an apartment here for 70$ while filming his first "Reaching for the Moon" (1930)
The building has a lot of character and with kind, artistic neighbors from around the world. Laundry facility(1.25 wash/1.00 dry) in basement of building. Pet friendly building and I am willing to allow pets in apartment on case-by-case basis. Please advise of pets, prior to confirming reservations. It is a gated apartment building, with secure parking garage next door for 12USD/ day. The Geisha House, fine dining restaurant and dance club, Angels and Kings nightclub/bar, Cafe Audrey's, Musso and Frank's, Kress and many more restaurants, bars, clubs are one block walk.
My one bedroom apartment, approximately 850 sqft, is on the 4th floor(top floor) southwest corner of the building. The neighbors are quiet, social, young professionals. We all like to work hard, play hard and share many evenings together, celebrating life in general. The apartment overlooks the parking garage and Hollywood Blvd. The view is amazing! By day, you can see over all of LA, stretching out as far as you can see...by night, the neon of the Boulevard, CNN, Kress, TVGuide Network, Renaissance hotel and Kodak Theatre buildings. The apartment has all hardwood floors, plenty of closet space, full bath, full kitchen (even an old "ice box" turned into cabinet), dinette, furnished living room and california king-sized bed. Before going out to enjoy Hollywood...you can enjoy watching the sunrise and the sunset from this apartment, which gets beautiful sunlight all day long.
The apartment has a nice, peaceful, relaxing vibe, my interior decor still needs some work(I am a single guy:) and I am open to any recommendations you may have while visiting.
Be warned, Hollywood is a very busy, noisy neighborhood. If you are sensitive to noise (helicopters, nightclubs, sirens, screaming, laughter), I recommend a rental in another city. On the other hand, if you are wanting to explore and experience the never-ending nights of Hollywood parties... they are right outside your door:)
You are most welcome here:)

This place is awesome! The host was very nice and accommodating I will definitely come back and do recommend this to other airbnb people.
Stephens apartment is fantastic! It is in a great area steps away from Hollywood Blvd and the Avenue of the Stars and loads of restaurants, cafes and bars. The apartment is exactly as described and shown on Airbnb, funky and comfy. The bedroom is very spacious, light and airy, and tons of room to hang your clothes and spread out if you need to, and the bed is super comfortable. The kitchen is great with everything you need, and Stephen provides an awesome range of teas and clean filtered water. Laundry in the basement is very handy and cheap. Stephen is very helpful as to local eating places and attractions. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend a stay with Stephen if you are coming to LA.
We stayed at Stephens apartment for one night to see Hollywood. The location was great, the apartment was clean and it looked great! Stephen is a great host! I recommend staying here!
Stephen is a fantastic host! He accommodated us seriously last last minute. It was raining and our original plans fell through. We can't thank him enough! Our flight was late in the evening and Stephen also let us store our baggage for the next day and have a quick shower before the flight. Thanks again - hope to be back in the not so distant future! :))
Stephen is really a nice host when my wife and I lived in his appartment. He provided us a very comfort living enviroment. During our stay, we could use the kitchen and TV (apple TV is also available, awesome!). By the way, the position of this appartment provided by Stephen is quite convinient for the vistors! Hollywood walk of fame is just about 100 meters away and Dolby Theater and Chinese Theater are also quite close by. When we were leaving, we were so hornor to have a "LA city tour" given by Stephen. Many thanks to Stephen for his care during our stay!
Staying with Stephen was the best decision we made in Hollywood - he's AMAZING! Such a gracious host. He went above and beyond what a typical host would do and made our visit to Hollywood better than we could have possibly imagined. He gave us poor lost puppies lots of ideas of things to do, a history of Hollywood, and even showed us around and answered all the millions of questions we had with patience and enthusiasm. He loves his city and loves hosting, and it absolutely shows. What an incredible guy. We really feel like we've made a lifelong buddy despite only staying there a couple nights. Thanks so much Stephen! We'll DEFINITELY be back.
Stephen's Hollywood Holiday apartment is at a great location where transportation is very accessible. As he has mentioned, the place was built in the 1920s so it might seem a little old, but the apartment itself is indeed very, very clean and has a lot of sunshine! Bed is huge, there's ample closet space, toilet facilities function well, no problems with Wi-Fi connection.
I stayed there for 6 days, and everyday we easily took the bus or walked along Hollywood Boulevard for other attractions and shopping. Taking the cab back from certain locations such as Yamashiro and the Griffith Observatory were not expensive either. Overall perfect location.
Stephen himself is a flexible, friendly and honest host, he picked me up from the airport and gave me many ideas and tips here and there. He is a host who is open to "showing" rather than "telling" which is very helpful. e.g. he showed us to the laundry room instead of telling, he showed me how to use Wingz for my airport transportation (despite the opportunity to not tell me about this service and to recommend his friend's transportation service - kudos to genuine honesty and helpfulness).
He is also knowledgeable about many things and recommended the Sunday Farmer's Market downstairs, which was incredible - if you are there on a Sunday be sure to go, it's walking distance from the apartment.
Overall Stephen's place is a good location and he is a good host!
It's my first time to use Airbnb to book a room and it definitely was great. Staying with Steve was very enjoyable and relaxed. He's very nice and helpful. He even offer some guide books of traveling in LA which was very thoughtful and informative. Besides, the location was convenient since the Hollywood was only two blocks away. But sometimes it might be not so quiet at nights. In one word, I strongly recommend Steve's apartment to you who are about to explore LA.
This was my first time using AirBnB so I didn't know what to expect, but after staying with Stephen, I'll definitely use it again. He was not only very nice and welcoming, but VERY prepared for anyone who's not familiar with Hollywood. He had a binder full of takeout menus, tourists spots, and everything in between. I'll definitely be coming back.
My partner and I spent 3 nights at Stephen's place. It was our first Airbnb experience, and we could not have picked a better ambassador than Stephen. He was super helpful, easy going, and discrete, and we made us feel right at home.
Stephen picked us up from the cruise terminal in his electric car, gave us an orientation of the area and was our guide to the cool Farmer's market. He gave us pointers of LA highlights, such as the Griffith Observatory and also arranged for us to be dropped off at the airport.
The apartment is exactly as shown on the pictures: functional but super clean. The bedroom is very spacious with plenty of closet space. The location is very convenient and guaranteed to give you a good feel of Hollywood. It is walking distance to Hollywood Walk of Fame, and other attractions such as Chinese Theatre, one metro station (or 4 mins metro ride) away from Universal Studios, close to a Hertz and a Budget car rentals, surrounded by a wide variety of good eats.
We will definitely go back to Stephen's place and highly recommend him and his place for excellent value while staying with a local!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
