Yves is a thoughtful and warm hearted host. He always has wonderful recommendations for restaurants, day trips and local insider knowledge concerning the french savoir vivre. His villa is stunning – decorated with design and art – we felt very comfortable. Besides, he is a marvelous cook – he prepared dinner for us – it was typical french and absolutely delicious. Yves got plenty of life experience and it was always a pleasure to have a glass of rose and a chat with him. The rooms are very elegant and clean. From Yves´s home, hidden and secluded beaches are reachable within a 10-15 minutes walk. We loved everything within our stay.
Yves' home is stunning. The home is in a quiet coastal neighborhood with great access to beaches and the local towns. Yves provides a nice accommodation with a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. From the bedroom there is easy access to the pool, sun porch and backyard. We spent three days at his property just lounging around the pool. One night Yves prepared a dinner for us which was lovely. Very generous and thoughtful man. We'd love to have the opportunity to come back!
Yves is a great host. We had a wonderful time staying at his place. The house is magnificent, being located on the very top of a hill with big views in both directions. Yves has decorated it with great taste -- beautiful art and design. The garden comes with a lovely pool, with miraculously green water! :) The beach is just a 10 minutes walk away, taking you along the coast on the gorgeous sentier littoral.
Yves prepares dinner for you on request -- he offers formidable gourmet cuisine! Do go for this great opportunity.
In summary, it's a total recommendation.
This beautiful little room sits at one end of Yves' spectacular villa in the hills overlooking the sea on both the Ramatuelle and Cavalaire sides of La Croix Valmer. The villa itself is in a private estate-type complex accessed by a gateway with no-entry signs to keep the tourists out.
The bed is the width of two singles together and very comfortable, with a huge number of pillows to satisfy even the most demanding sleeper! The bathroom is airy, very clean and the wet-room stone shower is both powerful and as hot as you like. The windows all have mosquito nets so it is possible (and, indeed, sensible!) to sleep with the shutters pulled-to and the windows open - there is no sound at all from the outside world!
The pool is deep enough to dive into and a perfect temperature to cool off in - with fabulously comfortable sun loungers (with mattresses and long towels) around it. The outdoor pool house has an outdoor bed (surrounded only (email hidden)) which I am sure Yves would not have objected to us using. A highlight for me also was that the roof of the pool house is a private little sunbathing deck - this was lovely to make it feel like we weren't intruding on Yves' space, though I am certain he didn't mind us being there.
Yves greeted us with local rosé and home-made canapés and insisted that we have the run not only of our room, but also of the pool and his huge covered outdoor-sitting-room terrace area. He welcomed us also to use the fridge to cool drinks and, had we required, offered us use of the television, internet and even his computer! Breakfast was served in his panoramic dining room overlooking the sea with the windows pulled back and the fresh air and sunshine streaming in.
A kinder and more generous host there never was - he has a fabulous collection of art which he is happy to show, and some amazing nautical experiences to share. Finally, his local knowledge is unrivalled - he wouldn't let us leave the house without making sure that we knew the best way into St Tropez for the particular day and time so as to avoid the rush of tourists/market goers/church goers etc etc.
I recommend unreservedly.
