Your mews holiday accommodation is located in the heart of Edinburgh's West End village, just around the corner from Princes Street. Haymarket rail station is a short walk away and the new tramway will speed passengers from the airport to a location just minutes from the mews accommodation.
William Street enjoys a a variety of shops, bars and cafes that will suit all holiday budgets. Further high street shops are a short walk away in Princes Street and George Street offers shops such as Anthropologie and Hollister ending with Harvey Nichols on St Andrews Square. Yet your holiday accommodation is surprisingly peaceful, allowing you to enjoy the sound of the bells of the nearby awe-inspiring St Mary's Cathedral.
We suggest.... you wander round to the iconic Brass & Copper coffee haunt where you will enjoy THE best coffee, a fantastic way to start your day from Monday to Friday. Or enjoy a wonderful weekend brunch along at Indigo Yard. Within minutes you will be standing in the shadow of the magnificent Edinburgh castle. You can choose to walk past it towards the historic Grassmarket or climb up the Mound to the Royal Mile where the castle proudly stands at one end with an easy walk down towards Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament. Once you've got there you might choose to climb the iconic Arthur's Seat, a hill with an umissable view of the city. (Did you notice that there's been no talk of transport yet? Your accommodation is so central that public transport is rarely required!)
Or if you prefer to get off the beaten track turn left instead of right and wander around the New Town where you can admire the fine architecture on your way to the Modern Art Gallery. After inspiring your creativity wander along the Water of Leith towards Stockbridge - a mellow and dreamy walk that takes you to this small community buzzing with cafes, vintage clothing and artisan shops.
And if this all sounds a bit too laid back then head to George Street for an evening of high class eating and clubbing - hey if the Opal Lounge was good enough for Prince William we're thinking we might give it a visit....

The location was perfect and the facilities were first class. We arrived a little early and Fiona was wonderful. Can walk to everything. Parking would be nice but it's very close and easy.
Beautiful mews tucked away right in the centre of the west end.. Flapjacks were delicious Colin a real gent - he drove us to a comedy gig on the other side of town after a delayed flight. Highly recommend.
Colin was waiting for us on arrival, with homemeade flapjacks to boot. He gave us a quick tour of the facilities and was quite pleasant.
The self-contained mews apartment itself is great for 2 people, a handsome, modern renovation of an alley mews in the West End area. I would definitely recommend this rental option.
We met Collin's mother in law when we arrived. Although our flight got in extremely early and we arrived in the city around 11 they allowed us to hold our bags at the mews until they finished cleaning it (which they did early for us so we could get in and sleep!) Collin's mother in law was extremely friendly as very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. The mews itself is in a perfect location for exploring the city. It's a bit off the main part of town so you don't feel like you're caught in the middle of all the commotion (which seems pretty hard to find in edinburgh in August) but you also are just about a short 7 minute walk to the castle and main shopping areas.
A very welcoming Colin met us at the apartment, which was exactly as described. We got off at Haymarket rather than Waverley Station, it was a five minute walk. It was also a short walk onto Princes Street and the hub of the city; perfectly situated. There are also a couple of pubs seconds away, we sampled Bert's Bar and although we didn't eat there we thought the menu and food looked decent.
We had fresh orange, milk and the most delicious flapjack waiting for us in the apartment.
I would definitely recommend for a weekend stay for two. The zip and link was very comfy and could accommodate a couple or friends.
We went to Edinburgh for the Tattoo and Fringe and the flat was priced comparatively to the city centre hotels.
Beautiful, modern flat very well located in Edinburgh. Colin and his mother-in-law made us very welcome and were helpful. Would come again! Thanks.
About the Host, Colin
I enjoy helping others and previously worked in healthcare before I moved into business. Most weekends are spent coaching rugby and watching my sons play sports. I enjoy running and cycling and would like to get back into classic car restoration - previous successful projects have included two Morris Minors, a Rover 2000 and an Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite.
My perfect holiday involves a good balance of activity and relaxation and I aim to ensure that every guest at The Mews enjoys their perfect holiday in Edinburgh.
I'm married with three teenage children.
