This large one bedroom apartment is located in the best neighborhood in New York City, 1 block east of Astor Place right on the border of Union Square and the East Village. Super convenient with hundreds of restaurants, bars, shopping, and sightseeing on the surrounding streets.
The apartment has a separate living room, large bedroom, kitchen and dining table, and one bathroom. The bedroom has a full size bed with sheets and blankets, a table to sit at, and a decorative fireplace. The living room has a cozy sofa and lounge, flat screen TV with cable and HBO, and a Bose radio/CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and eating with a table for four. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, towels, a tub and shower. Other features of the apartment include exposed brick and hardwood floods.
The apartment is located on a historically significant street, Stuyvesant Street. Once the Stuyvesant family's private lane, this street is the only one in the east village that wasn't converted to the grid system at the turn of the century. It is a truly south facing street which floods this top floor apartment with sunlight.
The apartment is located on the top floor of a five story walk-up in a quiet building. Laundry, drugstore, ATM, bakery, and 8 restaurants located within 1 block.
It's a great time staying at Barbara's cozy, comfy and cute apt. It's at a wonderful location, just behind the St. marks street which has numerous amazingly great restaurants. Closed to soho, noho and nyu. Great great great! Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic time in this unit. Barbara made us feel right at home. The apartment is as described and in a great location close to lots of restaurants and cafes. A good area to base yourself while exploring the rest of NY.
Barbara's place is lovely - really clean, cosy, bright and perfectly located in a cool area of NY - it lived up to the pics on the site (and surpassed our expectations!). Barbara is lovely too, so helpful and very laidback. We can't recommend it enough.
Barbara was a pleasure to deal with from the outset. Communication was very easy and she was so helpful with arrangements and recommendations. Her apartment was perfect for our needs. The shower was great and everything worked well. Such a good location too; all the best NYC hangouts were within walking distance. We felt very sad to leave and had an amazing time.
Excellent stay at Barbara's! Very nice and cosy apartment. The house is exactly how shown in the picture. Barbara was a very nice host, explained everything about the apartment, she even wrote down the nearby shops, restaurants,etc...
There's a lot of nice restaurants, bars nearby!!! Very comfy bed! Next time, I will stay here for sure ! Enjoy
I met Barbara at her lovely apartment on the morning of our check in and she was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. Her apartment is really spacious for an east village place, very cosy and close to subways and heaps of great restaurants and bars. I would definitely chose to stay here again if I was given the opportunity!
My name is Barbara Taylor, I work in Philanthropy and am a native New Yorker. I recently received my Master's in Public Administration from NYU. I love New York City, especially the east village!
