About This Listing
This large one bedroom apartment is located in the best neighborhood in New York City, 1 block east of Astor Place right on the border of Union Square and the East Village. Super convenient with hundreds of restaurants, bars, shopping, and sightseeing on the surrounding streets.
The apartment has a separate living room, large bedroom, kitchen and dining table, and one bathroom. The bedroom has a full size bed with sheets and blankets, a table to sit at, and a decorative fireplace. The living room has a cozy sofa and lounge, flat screen TV with cable and HBO, and a Bose radio/CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and eating with a table for four. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, towels, a tub and shower. Other features of the apartment include exposed brick and hardwood floods.
The apartment is located on a historically significant street, Stuyvesant Street. Once the Stuyvesant family's private lane, this street is the only one in the east village that wasn't converted to the grid system at the turn of the century. It is a truly south facing street which floods this top floor apartment with sunlight.
The apartment is located on the top floor of a five story walk-up in a quiet building. Laundry, drugstore, ATM, bakery, and 8 restaurants located within 1 block.
Barbara was always prompt, pleasant, and helpful in responding to our questions and her place was an oasis of comfort after full days of walking in the city. That couch was incredibly comfortable! And the space was clean and ample-sized for two people. The kitchen and bathroom were wonderful as well. Hot water showers, no problem. The french doors leading into a spacious bedroom with comfortable bed added a touch of user friendly elegance to a tastefully designed, cozy living space. The temp outside hovered in upper 40's to mid 50's for the duration of our visit. The apt hinged on the warm side sometimes when we first returned after hours away but opening the window restored ideal interior temps pronto. I could gush on and on about the excellent location. Overall, a stellar first Airbnb experience at Barbara's place on Stuyvesant.
This was a wonderful experience! The apartment was very clean and so spacious. The bed was very comfortable, which is great after a full day in NY. The neighborhood was very safe and close to the subway so it was easy to get around. Barbara was so accommodating and even checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. We were so happy with this location and apartment.
We had a fantastic time in this unit. Barbara made us feel right at home. The apartment is as described and in a great location close to lots of restaurants and cafes. A good area to base yourself while exploring the rest of NY.
Barbara's place is lovely - really clean, cosy, bright and perfectly located in a cool area of NY - it lived up to the pics on the site (and surpassed our expectations!). Barbara is lovely too, so helpful and very laidback. We can't recommend it enough.
Barbara was a pleasure to deal with from the outset. Communication was very easy and she was so helpful with arrangements and recommendations. Her apartment was perfect for our needs. The shower was great and everything worked well. Such a good location too; all the best NYC hangouts were within walking distance. We felt very sad to leave and had an amazing time.
