Interaction with Guests
We'll interact as much as you like. We respect our guests' privacy but really enjoy hosting. We are here 99% of the time but follow our guests' lead on interaction.
The neighborhood is fun and funky! People are friendly and you can't beat the location.
There's a bus route just outside the 'hood plus you can easily walk into downtown, catch a cab, or use a smart car.
Other Things to Note
You may hear the garage door go up on weekday mornings, when we have to bring the kids to school. However, we are very mindful of using the garage when we have guests upstairs.
And we like to leave the outside light on over night. You can turn it off if it bothers you, though.
* No parties.
* No smoking in the apartment. If you smoke on the balcony, please use an ashtray and empty your ashes/butts in the trash behind the garage (on the alley).
* No candles or incense.
* When you leave to go out for the day (everyday), please turn the AC/heat off or up so that's it's not running all day.
* Two guests allowed unless more were agreed upon up front. If you'd like to have additional guests overnight, we charge $25/person per night. Please arrange this with us before your guests' stay.
* Leave the place as you found it.
Amy is a fantastic host and we got some great ideas from her on where to eat!
This was my very first Airbnb stay. I usually stay at hotels on business trips. What a refreshing surprise to get away from the hustle of the convention hotel. Amy's place was perfect, and she made me feel right at home. The one bedroom apartment with all the amenities of being at home. Very quite neighborhood located just a couple of miles from restaurants, shops and grocery stores. The day I left Amy made sure my stay was everything that I expected. I assured it was and that I was coming back with my wife next time.
Amy was beyond accommodating. She greeted us with a fresh plate of strawberries. The apartment was clean, very well furnished--nicer than my NYC apartment. Their backyard was amazing for our family to hang out and play in. It's also super close downtown and food and shopping areas.
We enjoyed our stay at Amy's property. The property was as described - clean, cozy, comfortable and in convenient for us location - close to Zilker park and Botanical Garden, Long Performance Center, Townlake park and downtown. Amy was very nice and hospitable. We would recommend to our friends to stay at Amy's without any reservations.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Amy is a friendly and thoughtful host. The apartment is lovely (including a very comfy bed!) and is conveniently located to a few major bus routes if you need them. Their street is incredibly quiet, so even though I was here for work related reasons, I did feel like I could relax a bit too. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for something cozy and set back while still fairly close to the downtown area.
Amy was super friendly and helpful. She gave us a few recommendations for great restaurants, and welcomed any and all questions we had. The apartment was extremely nice and clean, and was even better than the photos. The neighborhood was in a great location. It was cold when we stayed, so we used Uber instead of walking, but it only cost us a few dollars each time. It is definitely in walking distance of many places though.
All in all, Amy was great and the apartment was awesome. I would definitely recommend it, and will try to stay here again if I need a place in Austin!

We are a family of four (with small kids). We love our home town and location... can't beat the park, river, and downtown. We love having guests in our garage apartment... it's fun to talk to people about their lives, hometowns, and travels. We're happy to give recommendations and want you to be comfy.
