This apartment is a huge and bright one bedroom. Enjoy a luxurious stay in New York while still being in a central location.
It is located in a Pre-War building (read: thick walls and high ceilings) on the 16th floor complete with an elevator and a door man. The location can not be beat. You can easily walk to the cities best museums, Central Park, Times Square, 5th Avenue shopping, and other midtown attractions. It is a breeze to hop in a cab or jump in the subway to see all sights downtown. It is even in close proximity to the East River Ferry so you can take a boat to Brooklyn to complete your New York experience.
The actual neighborhood (midtown east) is a pretty quiet neighborhood and a great place to come back to after a day of running around or a night of partying. The best bagel and cream cheese in New York is across the street, as are a host of mom and pop shops including a butcher, cheese shop, and fish monger.
The apartment boasts a full eat-in kitchen, large living room to relax in, wifi, awesome air conditioning, and a spacious bedroom.
I also have a double decker queen air mattress that I blow up in the foyer for one extra guest and nominal fee.
Nothing out of the ordinary. There will be a house manual waiting upon your arrival.
Julian met us at the door (with the house boss - his dog). He was very welcoming and gracious.
The apartment was wonderful and exactly as described.
We added another guest and Julian accommodated us happily (we let him know in advance) ... His biggest concern was would we enjoy the stay/experience.
We have never stayed in mid-town east side Manhattan - a very nice neighborhood.
As a final note - the main reason we came was to fulfill a dream for my brother : see Times Sq during New Years. It was awesome - he was thrilled.
I would highly, highly recommend this apartment and Julian to anyone who is interested in visiting NYC.
We had an excellent stay at Julian's apartment. The apartment was very cosy, clean and spacious in a perfect location. I would definately recommend this apartment and would be happy to stay there again. Julian was a great host, very flexible with the check-in and check-out hours and made us feel right at home. Thank you so much for this perfect airbnb experience.
Excellent stay, in a so cosy apartment. Location is really excellent, with easy access to the subway.
Nothing to say, it was just as it was supposed to be. We were affected by weather conditions, and Julian gave us the opportunity to add 2 more nights, easily. The apartment is perfect for 4, close to all what you need to feel home.
Julian couldn't have been a more fabulous host! The apartment was huge and beautifully furnished in a very friendly building close enough to the hustle and bustle of midtown but far enough away to give you a more neighborhood feel. We felt right at home and would gladly stay here again! Definitely a great place.
We had a great stay at Julian's place. It is bright, clean, and very spacious. His apartment is located in a building full of charm and character! We even enjoyed a few jokes with one of the doormen. We were comfortable and really enjoyed the proximity and ease to get to most locations. Julian was there to meet us at check-in and very helpful with suggesting different spots close by to maximize our New York experience. Overall, a super weekend at a great apartment!!
Great apartment, great location. Was our first AirB'n'B experience and definitely not the last.
Julian is a nice host. I with family love his house very much. It's very large and cosy and also located in perfect place. It was wonderful time we spent there.
