We had a great time! Lovely spot. Great porch. Small but quite comfortable. Good snorkeling right across the street. Rene was friendly, easy going and available. Ceilings were a bit low for my 6' tall husband is our ONLY complaint. Nice little extras left from previous people, like some olive oil, etc. was appreciated. Loved staying in Isobel v Esperanza and would stay there again and would definitely stay with you again. Thanks!
Ann's place was amazing! And Rene, the caretaker, was superbly helpful. Anything we needed, he was a quick call away. The place itself is comfortable, well-equipped, and you can hear the waves from the hammocks on the porch! We would definitely return here.
We absolutely loved our stay in Vieques. The island is a true gem and we spent a good chunk of our evenings in the hammocks on the front porch, listening to the sound of the waves. We only rented a car for one day of our week-long stay, and found that we had plenty within walking distance. In retrospect having a car could have come in handy especially given that there is space to park here and the beaches on the other side of the island are really beautiful as well. Having access to the washer/dryer also came in handy. One note is that we were hoping to do more cooking and since the kitchen does not have a stove/oven we were grilling outside a lot. I would also recommend bringing a bug repellent candle if you want to spend much time out on the porch, especially after twilight/dark. Rene was great and picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry, despite arriving on the last ferry of the night. Great host!
Thank you Megan. :-) Due to the size of the lower guesthouse we are only allowed a 2 eye cooktop and a microwave. The guesthouse is advertised as 'Kitchenette'. We find grilling as we look at the sea to be much more fun. Yes, Islands have a mosquito hour, as the sun begins to set. I think there are some citronella candles in the kitchen. Will have to have Rene' get them out.
I'm so pleased you had a fun visit. Safe Travels,
Rene, the house keeper, was available upon our arrival and helped us get situated. The location is great, very close to the ferry terminal. The views to the ocean are breathtaking, yet the noise of it can be bothersome.
The property is a bit dated though. Owners try their best to keep it up, it appeared clean, but we had animal visitors both in the bathroom and the toilet.
Also, there is no stove, so your cooking options or breakfast preparation will be rather limited.
We had a great stay though, Vieques is a truly beautiful place
I am not sure how to respond to the 'noise of the ocean' being bothersome? :-) And all islands have baby sized frogs, etc. We do not use chemical as we do not want to harm our guest or the cute critters. I have never personally not had an issue.
The upper guesthouse has a FULL kitchen and is more updated and is more expensive. Its all in one travel budget. We try to accommodate both the higher end and more budget conscious traveler.
Radim, I think next time you might prefer checking our Bravos Sun and Sea Upper Guesthouse.
The house was wonderful! Beautiful view! Rene, the caretaker was very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our time at the guesthouse was wonderful. Renee was very helpful and gave us a town tour to orient us upon our arrival. The space was just as expected and had amazing ocean views. We would love to return!
The house was perfect for myself and my two girlfriends. Rene picked us up from the Ferry showed us around the island. The house was clean. There was a nice view of the ocean and the neighborhood was safe. It was close to the ferry and the center of Isabel II neighborhood.

About the Host, Ann
We first traveled to Vieques about 12 years ago and fell in love with this tiny laid back island. We have had our home there since that first visit! We never grow tired of going back there and so as often as possible. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
