My husband and I had a delightful time in Cracow. Our stay at Smart Studio contributed significantly to a lovely holiday--the flat could not be in a better location--everything at your doorstop. The flat itself is modern, clean, and aesthetically pleasing--very well appointed for the weary traveler. The upstairs loft is a bonus, indeed. Although in the heart of it all, very quiet! I recommend this accommodation enthusiastically.
Great great location and cute and clean apartment. Thanks !!
This is my second stay in this wonderful apartment and I would happily stay here again!
1. The apartment is very clean. It has a light, modern feel to it.
2. The heat was plentiful and I could control it. (They also have air con but I have only been there in winter.)
3. As a woman traveling alone, I feel very safe both in the apartment and in the neighborhood.
4. The location is PERFECT: very close to the main square, a few blocks to the taxi rank, one minute from Mama Mia restaurant which has really good pizza
5. Jacek kindly helped me up the stairs with my luggage. (There are four flights of stairs but they are shallow steps and very easy to climb.) He is also very responsive
6. There is a clothes washing machine as well as a kitchen.
7. Wifi is strong
9. Price is very reasonable
In short, wonderful!
We had a great time in this apartment. The location was very central and the apartment was a clean, tidy and relaxing space. My parents want to visit Krakow and will be recommending this place for sure.
We were delighted with the Smart Studio. Great Choice - the building is old with lots of character, a lovely entrance hall with wide shallow wooden steps so even if you are not terribly fit they are manageable. It looks a bit grotty outside but thats not really important (there are a couple of posh hotels on the same street). You get the hustle and bustle of being in a central location but you are 4 floors up in a charming very warm apartment with south facing windows. It feels snug and safe. Its on 2 levels with a quaint compact staircase. Plenty of hot water, decent shower. Very little noise from neighbours but there is the rumble of trams, traffic, church clock chimes and sirens that you will get anywhere near the centre of a town. The sofa bed is next to the window with a dizzyingly high view of surrounding buildings. The upstairs bedroom is big you can't walk around much due to the sloping ceilings however you can see the tops of the church towers in the main square - very pretty at night. The apartment is charming as shown in the photos. There's a lot to do in Krakow. We walked all around the Planty, town centre, castle, shops, churches, Jewish quarter....we visited Nowa Huta (tram No 4 from Karmelicka) and (email hidden)-op type diner where no-one spoke english. When we left we found getting to the bus station was a bit complicated, we had to go into the shopping centre (mall), down to the tram station, along the tram platform and up a few escalators to find our airport transfer bus... took us over 20 minutes on foot. FOOD: Best breakfast ever at Europejska - one of the large pavement cafes round the main square - we ordered one breakfast and got a massive dish of scrambled eggs, a plate of ham and cheese, basket of bread rolls and rye bread - enough to feed 4 people plus coffee all for 29 zloty / approx £6. In the main square we tried Wesele a rather chintzy restaurant- our platter of 27 (!) dumplings for 2-3 people would easily feed 6. Our advice? stick with a single serving we really struggled managed 4 each and had the rest put in a box to take away. We were lucky with the weather, we ate outdoors at Virtuoso in the main square (same staff and shared kitchen with the Polish restaurant adjacent) - excellent Calzone and indoors a wood fired oven and a 3 piece band. Cafes and bars away from the main square are much cheaper - you are paying for the location when you eat around the square - we thought it was worth the extra and understood that we weren't eating as much authentic Polish cuisine. For convenience we liked Mamma Mia's Italian restaurant round the corner on Karmelicka. It has a courtyard behind it. Nice menu not budget prices most mains around...
Great location and good quality apartment.
I loved staying at Jacek's place!
The apartment had absolutely everything you could possibly want.
It looks exactly as it does in the photos; it is clean, modern, spacious and had a great feel to it.
It was a 1 minute walk from some great restaurants and just out of the hustle and bustle of the main square.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travellers visiting Krakow.
This is a compact, nicely refurbished studio with a loft sleeping area. The two sleeping areas are probably best enjoyed by two single traveling companions as the beds are not large enough to comfortably sleep two adults together. Location is great, especially for access to the main square, but still reasonably quiet. Note that there are 78 steps up to the studio.
My family really had a nice stay at the apartment! It is very convenient to the Market Square, Platz Szczepanska...and the tram & bus stops are just 1 block away (to get to Wawel Castle, train station, Salt mines, etc. Getting the keys was seemless when we arrived, and easy to coordinate return exchange of keys when we checked out.
Though we didn't even turn on the television at all, there is a nice Samsung flat screen TV, ironing board & iron, washer, and an efficiency fridge for light produce/food/dairy/etc.
It was among the hottest days of the year in Krakow, when we were there - and the air conditioning worked great to keep us comfortable & cool. Note that the apartment gets a lot of sunlight (being on the top/fourth story) - so if the sunrise is early - the daylight may start your day earlier.
It is on a quieter side street that's residential - yet still centrally (email hidden)d the place is located on the back side of the building (so it is nice and quiet!). Would definitely recommend to friends/family if they are going to Krakow.
The apartment was just what we needed for our stay in Krakow. The location was wonderful. We walked to the Market Square everyday. Actually the location was so great we walked everywhere we needed to go. We could hear the trumpeter and see St. Mary's Cathedral from the windows. The only real downside to this apartment was the stairs. At the end of the day all those stairs were a lot of extra work. Jacek was very helpful and friendly.
