About this listing
Spacious room perfect for a couple or up to three guests.
You'll have a great view through the balcony on the park. A real French bed, big wardrobe and a fully equipped shared kitchen.
Perfect for your short or medium stay in Ljubljana.
The room I'm subleasing is the biggest room in the apartment.
It has almost 20 square meters. The room is furnished and suitable for up to three people. You have one real French bed (140 x 200 cm) and an option to arrange an improvised bed for one. You may expect a living in the renovated apartment of an old school building.
The kitchen is modern, completely new, fully equipped and you may use it as long as you wash the dishes.
In the neighbourhood there are shops, library, restaurants and bars, great Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture - which they say is the coolest place with the hottest concerts in Ljubljana. Just around the corner you have a small 24 hour opened bakery where you can try local speciality - burek.
Public transit is just a three minutes walk away. Although the building is centrally located, the room is really quite with an extraordinary view on the park downstairs.
Guest will have access to kitchen with the dining room. Naturally you will share the bathroom and the toilet, which is separate.
The shared spaces include the hall and the balcony.
You'll be in the apartment with me and my very good friend that lives in other room.
Siska is a very cool neighborhood. Very near by you have the cultural center.
Just around the corner you have two grocery shops, one opened also on weekends and some holidays. You have several small bakeries, one opened 24/7.
Although is quite lively in Siska, the apartment itself is very quiet.
Public transport is three minutes walk away.
In Ljubljana, one of the good possibilities is taxi, that is really affordable.
In front of the building there is a free parking space available.
Guests will have access to all the shared facilities of the apartment including the kitchen with the dining room, the balcony, bathroom and a separate toilette.
Interaction with Guests
Me and my very good friend that is renting another room will normally be present in the apartment.
You have all the necessary facilities just around the corner - including the grocery store and a 24/7 opened small bakery.
Public bus is a 3-minutes walk away. Although taxi in Ljubljana has very reasonable prices. And you have good half an hour walk to the city centre.
The only strict rule is no smoking in your room and in the apartment in general. You may smoke though on the balcony.
Otherwise there are no special rules. Take into account that you'll be living with others in the apartment. So, please wash the dishes if you'll be using the kitchen.
Although we never had a chance to meet Marko as he was away at the time we had a pleasant stay in Ljubljana. The apartment was easy to find and his flatmate was very accommodating, even though we arrived later at night. He also let us keep our bags at his place until we left at 9pm on our departure day, which was a great help! It was also very close to the bus stop, so easy to get into the city centre, the train station and to closer tourist attractions such as Lake Bled. We were also able to use all amenities in the kitchen, and cooked our own food which saved us some money. The only downside was that there was no curtain in front of the bedroom window. This meant that there wasn't much privacy as the balcony is outside the bedroom window, and if someone was out on the balcony or in the kitchen they could see us sleeping. This might not bother most people but it's worth mentioning!
Marko était accueillant et l'appartement bien situé (5min du centre en taxi).
La chambre était propre et confortable. Le voisinage très calme.
We had a great stay in Ljubljana. The room was large, as shown in pictures, and great for our amount of time there. Marco was very welcoming and communication before arrival was easy. Our check in time was pushed back quite late at the last minute so we had to wait a few hours at the bus station before getting to the apartment, but overall we had a great time.
Marko is really nice guy, he welcomed us by several messages the night before our arrival schedule. We had some friendly and fruitful talks with him and his incredible kind and friendly roommate "Dominick" , Dominick left us his urban city card to use public bicycle.
I found the place tidy and some how close to photos you can see ,with high access to public transportation, we really felt comfortable there and I recommend you to stay there.
Overall the room was nice. Decent bed, good host. Have to say that the pictures look at lot nicer than it is in real life, but the room is clean and spacious, so that's alright. The other facilities in the apartment are just okay. Not outstanding, not bad. The kitchen is fully equipped and you're allowed to use all the cutlery and the fridge, but sometimes it was a bit of a mess when one of the two hosts had cooked. Bathroom is fine, although the bathtub wasn't always that clean. Other than that, Marko and his housemate are very easy going people who welcome you in their apartment. As far for the location; it's a really quiet area, so it's great for a good night sleep. Maybe a tat far from the center (you need at least 20 minutes to get there if you want to go by bus). Busses run frequently though, so I do recommend a Urbana card which allows you to go by bus to the city center. Also getting a subscription on the shared bicycle scheme is a tip; there's a pick up point not too far from the apartment.
Overall I would recommend the room.
Marko and his roommate Dominic were awesome people! On our last night they made some risotto for us that delicious and they were kind enough to give us a glass of wine and a taste of some home made beer which was really nice! The apartment is not really close to the city centre so to avoid a walk - use the bus or taxi. Marko was excellent with communication. The apartment is a bachelors pad style place and compared to other places it was not
this spotless clean. Our room was super clean but we share the bathroom with Marko and Dominic.
Staying at Marko's place was excellent. He and his housemate Dominic were both incredibly friendly. The room was spacious and clean. I'd definitely stay there again
