The Space

Capri is one of the most beautiful and famous islands in the world.

The "Capri Cosy Blue Apartment" is in the middle of the island just 5 minutes walk from the famous square "Piazzetta di Capri".

The neighborhood is very quiet and in the morning you can enjoy the light, the view and the incredible smell of flowers and trees walking to the "Piazzetta di Capri", a great place where to have the first “espresso” of the day and than a sunny breakfast.

If you know the island, the flat is very close to few “landmarks” like the well-known Tiberio Hotel or the restaurant "Aurora" in Botteghe Street.

In the beautiful Island of CAPRI, you can enjoy the amazing colors and magic atmosphere in a small but very comfortable flat.

The property is comfortable and suitable for 2 persons and can host in a spare beds one more adult or one child.

The flat is ready to welcome you and you can enjoy short or medium term vacation, as you deserve for yourself.

I will be very happy if you can enjoy the house, the food and wonderful island even for me.....

Place to visit in CAPRI:

•The very old church of San Michele and it's 1700 with the amazing and colorful maiolica floor.

•Villa San Michele (Small Museum).

•The Phoenician Steps (La Scala Fenicia) with 800 ancient steps connecting Anacapri to the sea, offer splendid views (best way from the top to the bottom). . . . .

•Natural Arch (Arco Naturale) is an extraordinary Paleolithic sculpture, is all that remains of a deep and incredibly high cavity of underground origin, which was discovered in the aftermath of a landslide.

The incoherent nature of the rock has determined the continuing corrosion of the stone, leaving a 12 meter wide section of the vault suspended roughly 18 meters above the ground, which forms a natural bridge between the two pillars of rock.

The Natural Arch is elevated high above sea level and its semicircular opening provides the perfect picture frame for the spectacular sea scenery in the distance.

•The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is one of the wonders of the world and you can visit by boat from the Marina Grande (the port) if the sea condition are good enough for the navigation and the tide is not to high.

************** Capri **************
******* The island of the Sirens.*******

Little is known of Capri’s early years as an inhabited island. Human signs from the Bronze Period (1800 BC) were found in the caves that abound throughout the island.

In fact, the island’s ancient history is mainly based on legends and myths from the period of the Greek colonization.

When Homer wrote about Ulysses’s adventures in Odyssey, he also mentioned the sirens of Sicily and the nearby rocky islands. Moreover, other Greek poets, such as Virgil, cited the island of Capreae as a place from where seamen would not return, once seduced by the singing of the sirens.

Nowadays it is believed that the Scoglio delle Sirene (siren’s rock), laid between two of the most beautiful beaches in Capri’s southern coast, is probably part of some 19th century scholar’s fantasies on Ancient Literature. It is dated from the same period of the discovery of the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Cave) and Capri’s reputation for tourism, which has taken many foreign poets, writers and artists to the island, in search of inspiration and pleasures to satisfy body and soul. Many of them, unable to resist the island’s enchantment, settled there, as the roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius had done centuries before. Incidentally, the ruins of Tiberius’s luxury villa are still sought out by tourists nowadays.

Capri has been seen for a long time as a hedonistic paradise of lost sensuality. It was the German poet Köpish, during one of his excursions to the island, who unveiled the famous Grotta Azzurra to the world. It is possible to visit the cave, although not in days when the sea is rough.

The cave’s entrance is a challenge itself: only three feet high by seven feet wide. Nevertheless, any claustrophobic sensations are later compensated by the spectacle of the deep and bright blue caused by the refraction of the light in the water.

Before Köpish’s discovery, the Grotta Azzurra was already known by the locals, who avoided it because they believed it was inhabited by evil spirits. Were they right or, rather than spirits, was what they feared only the sirens of Capri?

The Neighborhood

Capri is nice still a simple island, cosy grocery shops and nice restaurant.
