  • We used downstairs@toorak for our friend's visit to Hobart. Our friend had a nice stay and the process was smooth and hassle-free. Vivien was reliable and easy to deal with. Many thanks!

  • A lovely place to stay, very nicely furnished, private and well located with all that one needs to self cater. We were sorry that the hosts were away most of the time as this is one of the pleasures we have found with airbnb - meeting the locals.

  • We were really looked after by Vivien and Lawson. A lovely apartment underneath their house which is very comfortable. It has everything you need such as a washing machine and dryer, and a well equipped kitchen. They also left some food and chocolates for us to enjoy. We would recommend staying here.

  • Vivien and Lawson are the first Australians who we met after our arrival in Tasmania. I remember, I thought if all Australians are similar to Vivien and Lawson, I'll love Tasmania very much. In fact, we had everything we can dream and even more, staying in their house. Lawson and Vivien are perfect hosts who are ready to solve any your issues and sometimes to prevent them. When we came to their house, we found a lot of food in the fridge, fruits served for us and special food for our daughter which we asked to buy in advance. Moreover, this wonderful family helped us during our search of a house for long term living and moved our bags when we eventually found it. As for house, it's just ultimate, very modern, warm and cosy with the excellent garden. If you're looking for a place for very convenient and careless staying, this house is what you desire. Perfectly located near shops, bus stop etc. and, at the same time in a beautiful quiet area, this house is the best place to stay in Hobart. Add there very hospitable hosts and you will get an any traveler's dream! I would strongly recommend Vivien, Lawson and their house to everyone visiting the capital of Tasmania.

  • The unit was immaculately clean and very modern. Perfect for the 2 of us. 2 Metro bus stops within 5 mins walk, and we really enjoyed the cafes in North Hobart along with the movies at the State Theatre.
Viv and Lawson were excellent hosts and left us plenty of breakfast items and Lawson gave us ride to downtown Hobart as he was about to go out.
    Highly recommended, many thanks.

  • I didn't have the pleasure to meet Vivien, but only her husband. He was super nice, offering me cappuccino and inviting us to a dinner they were hosting. Very nice people, and also very nice house! It was warm and the best thing was that there were special touches such as hot chocolate, snacks and fruits were provided. They did more than they needed too! We loved it!

  • We very much enjoyed Downstairs @ Toorak. The apartment was in excellent condition, tastefully decorated and very well appointed. There were generous provisions and lovely extras. The location is very good in terms of accessing North Hobart with the excellent state theatre for good films and lots of cafes and restaurants. Buses are nearby for a quick ride into the city centre, although we found it more pleasant to walk.
