We have had a very rainy windy spring, as a result our road has taken I bit of a beating, if you have a low car take it easy driving in. The road into the property is unpaved but it is good, my brother comes in with his sports car comes no problem.....just take it easy.
** In the winter a snow appropriate vehicle is strongly advised as our road in is a rural road, as is suggested for all your travels in this area in the winter.
**In the case of severe snow, winter road forecasts and conditions or flight disruptions, it is sole the responsibility of the renter to make their own judgment with regard to travel. We cannot be held responsible for disruptions due to severe weather and delays or provide refunds for any cancelled reservation.
Baby Equipment: baby travel cot and high chair available upon request.
We go to great lengths to make our cottage as beautiful and comfortable as possible for each guest. The cottage is fitted with top quality fittings and furniture for you to enjoy and feel at home in, but we do ask for guests to treat the cottage with care and respect. The property and belongings must be left in the the same condition you found it.
Specifically we request;
-Wet or dirty shoes be left in the utility room.
-No food/drinks in the bedrooms.
-No smoking indoors. You are welcome to smoke outside.
-No group parties, loud noise or messy behaviour.
-No additional guests beyond booking agreement.
-No pets (unless arranged in advance).
-Rubbish and recycling removed on departure and placed in bins provided as per instructions provided.
-Toilet. This is a rural toilet with rural rules. No objects such as diapers etc must be put in the toilet.
-Cooking and kitchen use. We are very happy if you cook and enjoy the kitchen however please make sure to clean the stove top or ovens, baking trays etc after cooking or very greasy cooking.
-Please do not move furniture around. This is a cozy highland cottage so it becomes impractical to rearrange furniture and causes damages to the furniture ...and angst to our cleaning lady:) Thanks for your understanding.
WINTER. We advise a snow appropriate vehicle for the winter months. Usually the weather is pretty mild but we are known to get significant snowfalls at times. It is the renters responsibility to be aware of winter weather conditions before your arrival, stay and departure and to make any alternative travel plans accordingly. We do not take responsibility for any weather related issues, road closures or delays due to adverse weather etc. Online weather and road conditions are available by googling Moray Road and weather conditions. Generally the weather is pretty good but it's always good to check.
Children are very welcome, however parents are responsible for their well being and safety.
Thank you for your understanding and we truly wish you a wonderful and memorable stay at Glenarder. Please do reach out if you have any specific concerns or there is anything we can do to make your stay special.

Mother of two. Fashion industry. Born in Aberdeen, Scotand, most recently we have been living in London, and Moscow. Recently we were relocated to Toronto, Canada where we are just beginning to settle in.
Previous to our time in Moscow we lived and brought our children up in the beautiful city of Montreal where we enjoyed Quebec and N.E East coast US. For the past 6 years whe have spent a lot of time travelling between Montreal, Scotland and Moscow.
My husband works for one of the big luxury brands which gives us the great opportunity of being posted in different parts of the world. We have had the opportunity to live and travel in many countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, USA, Canada, Paris etc
I love fashion design, sustainable design, property renovation, pop culture, reading.
Most enjoyable moments in life are simple dinners and time together with family and friends. Trips and visits with my daughters (in London and Montreal). Opportunity to travel to new places is also high my our list.
Although I love travel I love home more. Through all this moving and travel Glenarder .....our wee house in Scotland has become 'our happy place'. As a family it has given us a common place to hang our hat and to call home. We love the contrast between urban living in our daily city life and quite, peaceful Glenarder. Scotland is the home of my birth and all my family life there so trips home have been part of our family life, it is so special that we now have our own home in Scotland and it is a pleasure to share that special place on earth with other people.
We have had many great experiences hosting meeting people from all over the world who bring their own energy and happiness into Glenarder making Glenarder a place of many happy memories in the making.
