Bedroom in Live/Work warehouse

Apartment - Private room · Alabama St, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

The Space

Former autobody shop, photography studio and now start-up HQ and private residence all rolled into one. Set in the middle of the Mission, we have a private bedroom with a queen sized bed and futon, and a fricken awesome space. For over flow there is a pull out couch.

What makes this even better is the culture at the startup means you'll have instant friends. There are dogs, kids and general life happening all around, but you still have a quiet room to retire to.

The warehouse is ~6500sq ft, the bedroom is about 400 sq ft. there is a huge living room area, and a decked out kitchen built for when this was a photography studio for Food & Wine magazine.

You get a 40 person staff coming in and out during the day then it quiets down at night. We like to have a good time, so no trouble if you are in town for the night life. Just respect the sleeping kid.

A 200% unique experience.

  • Very unique and cool experience. Open and friendly people in a sharing environment.
My partner and I were on a business trip and this space worked out great. The location is great for exploring the Mission District and the local food is pretty amazing.

  • I stayed at Matt's place for a whole week. Everything was fine and the environment was so comfortable if you need also a place for working!

  • We're considering moving our company to SF and have been looking at options for live-work spaces so we were excited to check out Matt's place to see what that might be like.

It's a very cool space and team and was an interesting and unusual experience. Probably not ideal if you're looking for a high level of comfort but definitely recommend checking it out if you're interested in unusual and distinctive spaces and meeting cool people and a few friendly dogs.

  • Great location, very cool space and the special heated Japanese toilet seat is an extra bonus. The kitchen is superbly equipped and clean, the TV system is immense and well worth staying in one night to enjoy. The location itself is perfect for getting out in the Mission easily but also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Easy check in and check out and perfect for couples and friend travelling together. Very cool SF experience.

  • I stayed for 4 nights with my 9 year old son .The warehouse was great.Walking distance to funky shops, cafes and restaurants. The room was upstairs (remember less luggage next time)and fine for warm autumn (email hidden)e double bed was comfy and the room had lots of space to finally unpack all our stuff. Several power points for all our devices and mood lighting.Friday-Monday was almost silent as only one other person was around.Enjoyed the neighbourhood ..we don't get the Latin vibe in Australia.

  • This was a really cool space, exactly as advertised! I was surprised when we arrived that Matt actually wasn't there for the weekend so we had to wait a little to get someone else to meet us, but they were very helpful and provided a sheet of local restaurants and attractions which was much appreciated. The bathroom was in the middle of being renovated so it was tricky managing a leaking bath! But the kitchen and location was excellent. The bedroom was okay, slanted ceilings and not an awful lot of natural light made it tricky at times, but all in all I would recommend this place for someone who wants to get a sense of the start up look and feel.
