Enjoy a clean, spacious apartment in the most happening neighborhood in San Francisco! Welcome to the Mission.
This one-bedroom apartment sleeps two in a full-size bed.
You’ll find hardwood floors throughout and a full, clean kitchen ready to cook in and a table for two. Help yourself to the Olive Oil, seasonings and what condiments are there.
The full bathroom offers both a stand up shower and separate tub. You can expect fresh towels and sheets upon arrival.
There is a security door out front, and one short flight of stairs to climb inside. Right outside, there’s a small corner store with sandwiches, basic groceries, wine, beer and friendly owners. Across the street: Inexpensive laundry service with a wash and fold offer for $1 a pound. (Onsite, coin-operated washer and dryer are also available.)
Head a block or two East, and you’ll find Valencia and Mission Streets. There you’ll eat at delicious restaurants, sip fair trade coffee at popular cafes, and shop at small businesses that sell everything from vintage furniture to boutique, designer fashion to herbs, tinctures and rare books.
Like wine, beer and cocktails? You’re in for a treat on these streets.
Haven’t quite grown up, or need to grab a gift for the kids? Don’t miss Paxton’s Gate Curiosities and its neighbor, 826 Valencia. The latter boasts San Francisco’s only independent Pirate Store, which supports an onsite, volunteer-run, writing center for ages 6 to 18. 826 Valencia was co-founded by renowned author, David Eggers.
When you’re in the mood for a gorgeous San Francisco view, or you want to catch some sun, head West and 4 blocks North to Dolores Park, one of the city’s most beloved spots and spend an afternoon. If you’re lucky, you might catch Rudy, a trained Macaw parrot, on a flight through the park with his owner. There’s also a great, new playground for children.
If you drive here, there’s good free parking in the neighborhood. (Locals covet this perk.) You’ll also find public transportation easily accessible: The Mission and 24th BART is a 3-block walk that takes about 5 to 7 minutes walk. BART will shoot you right down town in a 7 min ride.. Muni (the bus and rail system) has stops that will take you anywhere you want to go in the city.
Market Street, The Castro, The Waterfront, Downtown and SOMA are all within 5 to 15 minutes by cab or Muni.
On the flip side: If you enjoy big box stores and chain restaurants, you may want to choose another neighborhood. If you require a TV with cable, this is also not the apartment for you. As I’ve only recently moved in and will be out of town this month, there’s no wi-fi yet. Most smart phones support a wireless internet access. This is at least how I get online.
Within a few minutes walk in either direction, on Valencia or Guerrero, you’ll find more wi-fi than a Macbook airport can fly.
Philipp was great and the place was just perfect for us!! The location is fantastic, great access to the bus, cocktails, shopping and restaurants. Very clean, great lighting from the big living room windows, perfect kitchen and a nice big tub. We loved it and hope to stay here again!
The apartment is very spacious and provides more than enough room for a couple. We enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen by the small dining table and having a nice comfortable sofa in the lounge. The apartment is styled in a minimalist way and the bed is a double futon. We had some problems with the internet but we got through them with Philipp's assistance. One minor concern is the soundproofing in building that means you can hear your neighbours' movements. We got used to it but it's there. The location is very good - hipster Valencia Street is just metres away with all sorts of bars and restaurants and South America starts at Mission Street. Colourful Dolores Park is within half an hour walk or less. The BART station is nearby but you do have to brace yourself for the homeless folk around.
Philipp's appartment is located perfectly with lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance - and the BART as well. He is an entertaining host and the couch folds into a real bed. Danish(?) design at its best!
Great location, right in the heart of the Mission. Comfy bed and airy space. Super close to BART and Valencia but nice and quiet. The neighbours are lovely and helpful and Philipp was great to deal with.
Thanks so much and may the sun shine brightly on you all day long
This was my first experience using airbnb and I must say it was far better than expected!
I had a great time in the Mission with Philipp. He managed to make it a fun evening and was nice enough to show me some of the restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood.
He offers a great space to spend the night. The apartment is nice, clean and has everything you need for the stay. It is a very good starting point to explore San Francisco.
Any time again.
This flat is in the most fun part of the city from what I can tell. Philipp is a fantastic host and was full of recommendations for food, drinks, cafes and music in the city and the neighbourhood
