About this listing
Welcome to our home! Welcome to Des Moines! Welcome to social lodging! We wish you an enjoyable stay and a fun time in our city DSM.
Thanks for stopping by! We would like to invite you to our pleasant home in the Drake/Beaverdale neighborhoods. We have a cozy bedroom available. The bedroom is very comfortable, with off-white carpeting, a full size black iron bed with a Serta Plush mattress, loveseat, dresser and desk. The bedroom has a flat panel television. Antenna reception only. No cable. The shared bathroom is just a couple steps outside your bedroom. We hope your visit is a pleasant experience, and we will strive to reach that goal. If you feel like lounging downstairs please do so. Pick a seat to enjoy a book, flip through a magazine, watch some tv or play cards on the front porch. If you're on the front porch take in the beauty of 100 year- old oaks still standing tall. Our home is on a mature tree-lined street in the heart of Des Moines. The neighborhood is a great place for walking and running and is close to many restaurants, bars, theatres and shops. The location is central to all things North, East, South and West, so when it comes to traveling in the metro you're in the the most convenient area. DART bus service is available only a half block from the house. Interstate 235 is a few blocks to the south, and many of the main arteries are close by too. For our Summer and Autumn guests Beaverdale Farmer's Market is Tuesday evenings and the Drake Farmer's Market is Thursday evenings. Both are enjoyable destinations June through September. The farthest destination in the metro is only 15 to 20 minutes, and while your traveling around the city we hope you find why we love our hometown Des Moines. Drake University is less than five minutes away, and Des Moines University is 10 minutes. Check out the guidebook on this listing for some of our favorites places around town. For guests flying or coming by bus we will be happy to pick you up free of charge. We look forward to meeting and hosting you. Safe travels and Best Regards, Tony Junior and Rohan

Interaction with Guests
You are free to come and go as you wish. Interactions are nice, if not that's fine too.
Very diverse neighborhood . The area has mostly owner-operator restaurants, bars, grocery stores, theatre, coffee houses and shops. It is not a "big chain" neighborhood. A lot of walking, running and biking takes place. It's very nice here
DART public bus service, Uber and many taxi companies.
Please ask first before bringing anyone to the home that is not on the reservation. Smoking is allowed in the back yard area. No pets please. We do have two parakeets, Lemon and Lime. Come enjoy! This is a relaxed home!
I had a wonderful stay at Tony and Junior's place. Their home is warm and comfortable and the incense they use creates a sense of calm and tranquility. Tony and Junior were terrific hosts. They made me feel at home and went out of their way to assist me several times. They even offered up their own wine when I arrived which really hit the spot after after a long travel day. Highly recommend them to anyone traveling to Des Moines.
I stayed with Tony and Junior for a week, and it was absolutely delightful. They are both so kind and fun to talk to! The house is beautiful, and the room is wonderful-- it's a perfect size, and it has everything you could need. It may be the comfiest bed I have ever slept in! This was my first time in Des Moines, and I couldn't have picked better people to spend it with.
The house and the room are beatiful and tidy. Tony and Junior are very friendly and helpful, picking me up at the bus station and taking me again the next day, even when it was at 5am! Thank you so much!
This was my first Airbnb stay, and Tony and Junior made it very worthwhile. They provided numerous suggestions for restaurants, bars, and local attractions. The space they provide for your stay is plentiful, and the bedroom is top notch. I would stay with them again, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Des Moines.
Tony's house is incredibly inviting. He was an excellent host. The bed is extremely comfortable, and his whole home has a very relaxed feel to it. We arrived late In the afternoon, and only spent one night, but will definitely stay here again if in the area. Was a perfect place to sleep off the meat coma brought on by Jethro's BBQ around the corner. If you go to Des Moines, stay here.
Cozy Room, Cozy Home indeed. My husband and I wholeheartedly enjoyed our comfortable stay in Des Moines. The house is warm and inviting and the room and bathroom are smartly decorated- a great combination between a boutique hotel and a b&b. Tony and Junior are friendly and welcoming and very easy to talk to but also gave us our space and privacy. I was in Des Moines for a triathlon as an amateur athlete but I felt as a professional might when placed in a host home. They even attended the race and cheered me on as I completed. I feel fortunate to have met them.
