Quepos and Manuel Antonio have everything. The Gorgeous nature, world class restaurants, (very fair prices) kind, gentle people, beautiful beaches, great bus system. Stay at least a week in this area if you can. So much to see . Our host was attentive, kind and very agreeable.
Pierre was an exceptionally gracious and helpful host. It's not an exaggeration to say that his suggestions and general guidance were responsible for the best parts of our trip to Quepos. So many unique places and activities we never would have found without him. He was great with communication, making the whole process smoother than a hotel.
The chalet itself is lovely, with plenty of porch space for lounging and reading. Not far at all outside of Quepos, though the roadside walk would be a bit lengthy for anyone without a car. The landscaping around Pierre's property gives the place plenty of privacy, which was nice, and the sunrise views in the morning were lovely.
Enjoyed getting to use the kitchen for breakfasts on the porch, and the bathroom is pretty specious for the overall size of the chalet.
For anyone looking to get outside the bustle of Quepos and avoid the tourist crowds on the road to Manuel Antonio, this is a great little spot. Truly grateful to Pierre for making us feel so welcome.
Thanks, Eric, for your glowing evaluation of your time in my chalet. I'm glad it was a perfect fit for you. You are correct in saying that the half hour walk to Quepos is "lengthy." But my guests do not need a car to enjoy the chalet and the area. There is frequent and inexpensive bus service back and forth to Quepos and Manuel Antonio. There are also taxis, reasonably priced. Again, I'm happy that you had such a great time here. I enjoyed being your host.
We had a wonderful, very relaxing time staying at Pierre's chalet in Quepos. We have no complaints whatsoever about the chalet - it was clean, spacious, surrounded by the jungle, with a lovely, fully-equipped kitchen. There was many great things about staying here, but one of the best was waking up to the jungle sounds in the morning.
There is a large bed in the chalet, the indoor shower has hot water, there is a desk/work area in the chalet, but the best is the wrap-around outdoor area. Half of it is essentially the entrance, but the other half includes a hammock, outdoor sitting area with lamp, and dining area. There are overhead fans in the inside and outside. The outside shower was also very nice to have.
Pierre was also a top-notch host. He helped us figure out what local activities to do and where to go. He was very attentive and ensured that we had everything that we needed! We are really glad to have met him and were sad to leave! Also, his 3 boxers are very sweet.
The chalet is located a few minutes out of the town center of Quepos, which is, of course, the gateway to Manuel Antonio Park. Both are very accessible from the chalet. We were also able to travel farther south for a day or half-day excursions.
This accommodation was a gem and the photos are true to the reality.
The real gem however, is Pierre himself! He does everything in his power to tend to your needs and to ensure your stay is enjoyable and problem free. A true humanitarian.
The chalet is simple, clean and is equipped with everything you need.
In the morning you will wake up to nature's alarm clock....bird calls, squirrels rustling about in the palm trees and a splendid view of the mountains.
We would return in a heartbeat!
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Garden Chalet East for 8 nights in early February. It is a wonderful, fully equipped cottage with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The views of the jungle from the chalet are breathtaking and the wrap-around deck allow for a full view of the gorgeous outdoors with a roof in case it rains. Everything about this place is beautiful. We could tell the extreme thought and care that Pierre placed into the design of the chalet for comfort and beauty with an open concept floor plan and many windows to let in the beautiful natural light. Pierre is a humble, exceptionally kind and amazing host who went well above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable during our entire stay. The location of the chalet is also great because it is close to town and near Manuel Antonio where you will find many restaurants and things to do!
Pierre was one of the most helpful hosts we have ever encountered in our years of traveling. He picked us up from the airport in Quepos, pointed out areas of interest along the route to our lodging, and offered us a ride to Manuel Antonio soon after our arrival as he was going that way. He provided fantastic tips on where to go, things to do, good places to eat, where to pick up groceries, and info on the local culture. We saw Pierre in the local grocery on our first night and he again offered us a ride back to the chalet.
The lodging itself was amazing; I am so glad we chose his chalet rather than going with something where most of the tourists go...a much more genuine experience of the area when you are able to see local culture. The grounds around Pierre's chalets are beautiful and we felt lucky to be surrounded by nature at every turn, and relaxing on the balcony in the hammock will be remembered as a highlight for years to come. The outdoor shower was so refreshing after hiking all day! My only regret is that we were not able to stay longer.
We spent three weeks in several places across Costa Rica, and this was easily the highlight of the entire trip. Pierre was an excellent host, extremely helpful and easy to contact without being a prying presence or intruding. The chalet is a little slice of paradise. The kitchen and bathroom facilities have everything you need and the outdoor shower is the perfect salve to break the heat of a sunny day.
The chalet is just outside of Quepos. You can either walk about 20 minutes into town or take a bus that stops at the bottom of the hill. We stayed at the chalet for a week, but we could have easily stayed for six months if fate would allow us. Skip the hotel and hostel scene in Manuel Antonio. You'll be a little further from the beach, sure, but the experience of staying at Pierre's chalet is something you'd be crazy to miss. I'm still dreaming about it.
Pierre is an amazing host and the garden chalet was a great retreat in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area.
The chalet is equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, double bed and walkout porch complete with hammock! The gardens that surround the chalet are beautiful and well tended.
La Choza de Pierre is located minutes away from a bus stop that will whisk you away to Quepos town or, with a quick transfer, to the heart of Manuel Antonio.
Pierre is extremely accommodating; he picked us up amd dropped us off at the bus stop, squired us around town and the park, took us to an amazing off-the-beaten-path relaxing waterfall, and helped set up reservations for exciting adventures in the area.
Muchas gracias por todo, Pierre! Pura vida!
Pierre has created a sacred garden environment that cradels his two guest chalets. This protected peaceful space allowed me to experience the most awesome series of dreams I have ever had.
I delighted in the kitchen equipped with healthy cookware and a pleasant place to prepare my meals. And then to sit out on the expansive wrap around porch to dine as I watched and listen to the night was my desert.
We enjoyed every minute at Pierre's chalet. He has created magical tropical gardens all around it with pathways through them. Monkeys and birds visited us in the majestic palm trees which we looked upon from our deck. Pierre was extremely helpful in familiarizing us with the area. He often went out of his way to assist us. We owe him thanks for making us feel at home in CostaRica. We hope
many others can benefit from sharing his place and his friendship.
