Our place is a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a full, yet fairly small kitchen, living room, dining room and shared back porch. It has a lot of exposed brick, wooden floors and a lot of character. We'd like to think of our place as being stylish, yet cozy and comfortable.
Our guests will stay in our second bedroom, which is private and with access to our second bathroom. This room comfortably accommodates two people. It has an air bed, which is SUPER comfortable. It's a cheerful room (normally used as an art studio/office) with internet access and central A/C. Centrally located in the heart of Chicago's Boystown in the East Lake View neighborhood. A few blocks away from Wrigley Field, very close to coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, shops and boutiques. Access to the kitchen, back porch, and the rest of the apartment’s common areas.
My partner and I truly enjoy being hosts – we both love to travel and meeting new people. Our home reflects our interests in other cultures and art. We are both laid back, easy going and with a great sense of humor. I am from Guatemala and my partner Ricky is from San Antonio, Texas. We do have a cat named Jett. He’s an awesome cat – very friendly and loves to groom our guests. We are fully stocked with Benadryl options should you have any allergies.
We are a very short walking distance to the "L" - the CTA's Brown, Purple and Red Line trains. Also, very close to several bus routes such as the Broadway 36, Halsted 8 and Clark 22 buses.
If our listing's calendar doesn't show your desired dates as being available, shoot us as email - we would be happy to discuss and accommodate your dates if possible.
We look forward to meeting you and having you in our home!
Our time together was brief, but memorable. (Sounds more dramatic than it really was...)
First off: their home is adorable - inviting, CLEAN, artful, comfortable - and the location is equally as fantastic.
The day I arrived, Chicago was sweltering, so entering a perfectly cool, air-conditioned apartment felt like heaven. Even nicer was walking into "my" bedroom and seeing an assortment of welcome gifts along with a big fluffy towel and Chicago street maps. They know how to welcome a lady!
Our schedules didn't sync up at first - we were like two ships (quite literally) passing in the night - but we finally met on day 2 of my stay and spent my last morning there chatting over coffee and cookies (presented so beautifully, btw). I immediately felt comfortable with both Carlos and Ricky (and their talkative cat, Jett) and was genuinely sad that I didn't have more time to spend with them. 3-hours of conversation only felt like 1!
I will most definitely be back to Chicago in the near future and would LOVE to stay with them again!
Everything was just great. Carlos provided me detailed directions and recommendations to get to his apartment and to other locations in Chicago.
The place was really nice. It was super clean, modern and cozy at the same time. He and Ricky were very friendly and communicative with me. The bedroom was perfect, just in front of the restroom.
The neighborhood was also nice and the apaartment was near bus stops to get to the loop.
I had a wonderfull stay.
What a wonderful host Carlos and Ricky was! I was so lucky to be able to stay at their lovely apartment right in the heart of Boystown.
My train to Chicago was 3 hours delayed, so I needed to pick up the keys from where Carlos works. It sounds a bit complicated, but Carlos made sure it was done without any problems. I got into the apartment with no hassle.
The apartment is full of characters and charm. And you can not find a place better located than this. Restaurants, bars and shops all in short walking distance. Saved me lots of taxi fare if I was staying in a downtown hotel. And there are buses nearby to take you to downtown only in ten minutes. Carlos and Ricky were more than happy to direct me where to catch the bus and train.
I really enjoyed my stay in Chicago with Alex, Ricky and Jett. I will be back soon!
This guys are my friends now! they are the best hosts someone could ever imagine. I felt like home s ART and love, 2 things i am missing right now.
Guys keep on rocking!
I cannot rave enough about Carlos and Ricky's beautiful place. Carlos has mastered the art of hospitality, graciousness and warmth. They offer a friendly, very neat, very sparkling and beautifully decorated space. They were incredibly receptive and relaxed. We immediately felt familiar and comfortable being in their home. The location is perfect, close to everything your heart desires. We were able to eat, drink and be merry in the neighborhood. Thank you Carlos and Ricky for an amazing weekend in Chicago, My sister and I felt exceptionally well taken care of.
Excellent place to stay!! Fresh & clean, charming, convenient location to public transportation, shops, restaurants n night clubs, right in the heart of Boystown.
Carlos & Ricky are the most welcoming & friendly hosts, make me feel like was at home. I will definitely stay here again
I love visiting Chicago and love it even more thanks to Carlos and Ricky! The location is perfect. Their apartment is conveniently located to the bars/restaurants on Halsted and the "L" is a short walk. The apartment is clean, fabulous and they had coffee for me in the morning. What more can you ask for? How about an adorable cat named Jett!! This was my first experience with Airbnb. I can only wish they all turn out like this.
We had an amazing time with Carlos and Ricky. They were so inviting, accommodating and good natured. Their apartment is immaculate, conveniently located to the train and Boystown, and so comforting to live in. I would come home and nearly always was greeted by their smiling faces, asking me how my day went. And there always was coffee waiting for us in the morning.
Best Airbnb experience ever. The location was PERFECT. Close to all great restaurants and cafes in Lakeview East on one end and all the gay bars on the other. Only two blocks from the lake. I went running along the lake almost every day and it was just gorgeous. Very easy access to the loop / downtown Chicago via bus and train. Carlos and Ricky have a beautiful apartment decorated with really cool art most of which is Carlos's own work. They have a modern-clean-lines-meets-world-art aesthetic I really loved. The room is a very peaceful space with a console-like desk that's great for doing work. But the best part of this Airbnb experience was the hosts themselves. Ricky is a fantastic cook and Carlos a very attentive host. They are both easygoing, fun, witty, and well-traveled. We spent a lot of time together on foodie adventures (Vietnamese, diner food, Italian, all AMAZING) and on a fabulous trip to the Art Institute. I now consider them friends, which is something I would never have expected to get out of an Airbnb stay.
