The apartment is quiet and decorated well. Situated in approximately 7 minutes of the subway which take us in Manhattan in 30 minutes. We met John in our arrived and have met Sabrina earlier. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby and it makes the good find itself in the apartment in the evening after long days in the excitement of Manhattan.
Merci John et Sabrina.
We had a wonderful stay at Sabrina and John's apartment. The place was extremely clean. We came by car and we had no trouble finding a parking spot in the street nearby the apartment. We used our car a lot during our week-end in New York City and we found it was easy to drive from the apartment to interesting places in Brooklyn and Queens. The apartment is big and amazingly well decorated. The fact of having the hosts living downstairs is nice because we know where to find them if have any problem - althought everything was perfect and we had absolutely nothing to complain about!
our stay at sabrina's appartment was lovely.there is nothing bad I could (website hidden) looked exactely like in the pictures.I stayed there with two others and we had plenty of space.the area was also very nice.there were a lot of stores, restaurants and the subway station was just a short walk away.sabrina also provided some of the basic things you need like toiletteries and even some food in the fridge like eggs, milk and water.I just can recommend this apartment to everyone.
We stayed here in March 2013 and really had a great time! There is only one downside to the apartment: the distance to Manhattan. That you can find out easily on (website hidden). What we can tell any future renter is that the apartment looks exactly like it is shown on the pictures, actually even better.
Sabrina's and John's apartment really isn't your average Airbnb rental! It's furnished with so much love and especially a great sense of design. There are so many small details that are just lovely. Furthermore it is very well equipped. There is everything you need to prepare great meals in the kitchen, there's a French press coffee maker; there's a TV with Roku, a radio with Aux, a hairdryer and so much more. Plus the hosts are really friendly, helpful and respond quickly to any questions or concerns.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who has some kind of budget restriction or to anyone who wants to experience New York but wants a quiet place to retreat.
I really enjoyed the apartment. It was classically decorated, warm, and I enjoyed how Sabrina and John were very low key. I did have an opportunity to speak with John and he gave some good advice about record shops and the like in the area. I would definitely recommend to stay as they were very accommodating when I lengthened the stay and it was a pleasure. Thank you John and Sabrina.
Sabrina and John were great hosts. Their apt is clean and has more than enough room for 2 residents. The place is close to the subway and shopping. I highly recommend this place for all AIRBNB users.
Thanks for this nice apt. in New York. Everything was clean and very comfortable. We had a blast trip to NYC and thats not only because of the nice weather at new year ;-) 10min to the subway, 25min to manhatten. nice neighborhood, nice people. The apt. was perfect. We will come back...for sure!!!
We booked for 8 nights for a sight seeing trip and Christmas escape.
Sabrina and John are easily contactable by knocking on the door below or by email using the in apartment WiFi. It was good to have the milk and OJ waiting in the fridge as we arrived late and just want to get in without having to go look for supplies. Apartment was larger than expected, clean and with excellent storage. The oven is large, easy to use. The neighbourhood is very friendly. The Cosy Corner local bar is a good resource for cheap alcohol and good burgers. It was also useful for booking a local reputable taxi company for our trip back to the airport. $28 fixed rate. It is a ten minute walk to Forest Avenue station, where I would recommend weekly Metro-cards for getting into Manhatten. $29 no-limits to use on city metro. Just be aware there are changes to the M train service at weekends that mean changing trains a couple of times. Factor this into planning actvivities. It takes around half an hour to get into Manhatten. Cannot find any faults. The guard dog is a softie too! Many thanks for being excellent hosts. Yellow Cab from the airport did not quite understand the address, so suggest printing a map might help (probably more our fault for not understanding the house numbering system)
We could have moved into Sabrina's large apartment, it was so comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped and nearby shops meant that we had everything we needed to cook home meals. Sabrina had also left groceries - OJ, milk, cereal, cookies etc - that was a very kind touch! She was always easy and helpful to communicate with. Transport was good - a quick ride into Manhattan on the L or M metro line, and a short walk to the station. We'd love to come back!
I stayed at Sabrina and John's apartment with my 14 year old son at the beginning of December 2012. Sabrina was already very helpful with a lot of questions/ organization prior to our arrival and always responded very fast. As true New Yorkers Sabrina and John also gave us lots of good advice around the city. We had the pleasure to sit down with them in their apartment one evening over a bottle of wine and had a great evening and nice conversation. They both are very interesting, open and generous people! Too bad we didn't have more time.
The apartment is very spacious, clean and lovely decorated! We felt very comfortable and enjoyed " coming home" in the evenings after long days of sightseeing. It is located in a quiet and friendly town house neighborhood with lots of little shops and restaurants nearby and short walking distance to the subway which will take you to downtown Manhattan in just 20 minutes.
Many thanks for being excellent hosts, Sabrina and John! We love to come back and you are always welcome back here in Brazil! Beijinhos from Bea and Tim
