The space

Charming traditional winemaker house in beautifully preserved village.

2 bedrooms, plus option to accommodate 2 extra people on convertible bed in living room.

Living room / open kitchen with authentic Languedoc fireplace. Antique furniture.

1 bathroom + WC.

The Hérault valley offers a wide range of activities, from site seeing (e.g. UNESCO listed village of Saint Guilhem, Grotte de Clamouse, Pézenas...) to swimming, canoeing (Gorges de l'Hérault, Lac du Salagou), walking, climbing, VTT, horse riding...

Local markets are worth a visit in their own right (Clermont l'Hérault/Wed, Montpeyroux/Thurs, St André de Sangonis/Fri, Gignac/Sat).
The region is extremely rich in winemaking, with local producers increasingly catching international recognition.

I am passionate about my region and will be very happy to organise against a modest fee local visits such as a discovery trip to my vineyards and olive trees in my 2CV, walks (from beginners to advance), caves...

I am an ambassador for the region, which brings in reductions to local touristic services.

Good parking is available on the village square.

Guest access

You have access to the entire house.

Interaction with guests

We live just next to the house, and we will be happy to answer to your question and share our knowledge of our valley.
If I'm in I will be very happy to organise local visits such as a discovery trip to my vineyards and olive trees in my 2CV, walks (from beginners to advanced level), caves...
But also wine tasting and olive oil...

Finalement, I didn't stay at Denis' and Genevieve's gîte because there was a mix up surrounding the dates of my stay. Denis was most apologetic and made sure I had accommodations I was comfortable with for the week I was to be in Lagamas. I booked another gîte in the village and moved in next door to Denis and Genevieve. I had a lovely week as their voisin and we shared a couple of really nice evenings as new friends. I look forward to a next time visit in the originally planned for gîte and to spending another few evenings around the table with Denis and Genevieve for good company, wine and nibbles!

Nice stay. Quiet, out of the way, good for getting away.

What a wonderful experience! Lagamas is a small, well-preserved village in a very beautiful part of the world, vineyards as far as the eye can see and only a short drive from medieval villages, castles and ruins. There are also some stunning walks around the area... not to mention the wine - incredible! Denis was an extremely kind, helpful and generous host and really made our stay in Lagamas memorable. His local expertise was really greatly appreciated. The house itself is beautiful, a traditional winemakers' cottage - a real gem. Very highly recommended!

Denis was a very friendly and interesting host- a genuine local of the region. His grange studio was charming, with a great view. Very reasonable for the price we paid. (But don't forget there is no internet access here.) I wish we had more time to spend in the area as Denis would have been a willing and helpful guide.
