Sonia was a great hostess! the apartment is in a very convenience area, close to St Jorge Castle, Rossio Square, the pedestrian area...Metro Stations close too.
At the apartment we had coffee, tea, everything was clean and nice. Quiet neighborhood, multicultural, remind me being at Lavapies neighborhood in Madrid.
We drove our car and at the area is possible to park the car without paying, quiet limited spaces but there are some.
The reservation was canceled 24 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Mafalda was a wonderful host. She waited for me outside the metro, even when I was delayed by one hour with no way of contacting her, and she was very gracious about it. During my stay she checked in with me to see if there was anything I needed, and answered my many questions.
The apartment is very nice and exactly as described, and I was very comfortable in the bed. I must report a couple things: first, the bathroom smelled bad. Airing out the apartment by opening the window helped, but the smell was back by the end of the day. Also, while the street is thankfully without traffic noise (too narrow for cars), there is a fair amount of noise from kids playing, dogs barking, babies crying, upstairs neighbor singing along to her radio. I slept perfectly well at night, however, and the "realness" of the neighborhood was in the end a net positive.
There are many local restaurants on the next street, which were full of Portuguese people, as well as a few tourists, and served good food at incredibly affordable prices.
It was a very short walk to Rossio, and an easy 15 minute walk to Barrio Alto. The neighborhood seems to be made up mostly of immigrants; to me, it was a wonderful way to feel like part of the city.
I would stay there again.
The appartment met our expectations: clean, nice decorations, small but comfortable: it´s perfect for a couple.
Mafalda is very nice and kind, it was a pleasure meeting her.
The neighbourhood is picturesque but central. It´s a walking distance away from the main tourist attractions.
We enjoyed our stay here and truly recommend it!
